Casual Style for Women over 40

I am a fan of easy and casual style. I am especially drawn to clothes that I can grab from my closet and put on quickly without a lot of fuss.

Both of these outfits fall into these categories. The athleisure look is starting to grow on me and I have been wearing it quite a bit lately. It’s perfect for shopping and trying on clothes, which I do quite often.

This is the blouse I was wearing in yesterday’s post. I didn’t get to comment back to everyone who asked about it so I’m sharing it today. The top is from Gap and they don’t have my exact color but it is similar. It comes in three different colors.

I am wearing Sam Edelman flats in this picture. I have had these for several years and they still look great and they are super comfortable.

  1. Cyndi,
Love the looks, is the vest by chance Michael Kors? I love the zipper and am good on hunting things down online,
    Thank you.

  2. Love Gap, but if you are looking for a cheaper alternative with the same style be sure to try Old Navy. You can’t beat The Gap for quality though!

  3. I love both outfits. Both are something I would wear and I’ll have to check out Gap . I also agree with the comments about Nordstrom.

  4. YAY to Athleisure wear! You look so cute and now that I work from home this is the style I seem to be shopping for more. So thanks for sharing. 👍And I really have to get that black vest this time. 😉

  5. I love this look — cute and comfy with the tennis shoes … yet not looking like a complete “slob” 🙂 I am SOOOO into this look … xoxox

  6. I was wondering about the jeans you have on in the picture with the Sam Edelman flats? They do not look like the raw edge hem jeans in the picture above.
    Thank you,
    Carolyn

  7. I have a question about your sneakers. You are wearing them with your athleisure look. Does that mean you wouldn’t wear them while exercising? Is there a better pair of sneakers you recommend for exercising, and you use these for a casual fun look? Thank you!

    1. If you are looking for a pair to exercise in I recommend New Balance. I wear them for walking and running and when i get a new pair each year for running I start to wear the old pair for leisure wear.

  8. I knew that top had to be from GAP. I have one very similar that is sleeveless in similar color and pattern. I really like the blouse you have. As for Athleisure, I think it looks pulled together, while comfortable. 🙂

  9. HAVE TO AGREE WITH THE COMMENT About not having any warm fuzzies for Nordstrom and very happy to see more choices. THANK YOU.

  10. Hey Cyndi, I was wondering if you are going to style mules for the spring. I just got a pair and not sure how to style them. Thanks!
