Criss-Cross Blouse and Espadrilles

I’m sure you have noticed criss-cross blouses are everywhere this spring. On Tuesday, my Loft blouse had the criss-cross in the back.

I like the criss-cross look but when I wear it in the front, I have to add a cami because it usually is too low for my taste. This Lush blouse has several trends going on: floral, bell sleeve and the criss-cross front.

Styling a Criss-Cross Blouse and Espadrilles for spring fashionIf you are looking to add a spring shoe to your wardrobe, I highly recommend an espadrille. I love these shoes and they are comfortable enough to wear all day. If you want a less expensive version here is an option. Also, these are cute and have a much lower heel.

Beauty for the Heart~~If there is one thing I love to do, it’s laugh. My husband said to me after my Mom had been gone for almost 2 years that I had lost my laughter. He was right!

So I began to intentionally look for things that would make me laugh. Laughter is food for the soul and even though life can be hard, we need to laugh.

If it’s been a while since you laughed let me encourage you to look for things today that will make you laugh.

As soap is to the body, so laughter is to the soul. — A Jewish Proverb

  1. I just love this. Well we need the cold to kill the germs out there. Hope it works. Have a nice weekend. Thank you!!

  2. Hi Cindi! I really enjoy reading your blog, but lately it hasn’t been coming to my email. I noticed that several other people are also having this problem. I have even resubmitted my information to your website. Do you know how to fix this this? Thanks for any help, and have a blessed day.

  3. I love wedges and espadrilles but that suede would make my feet so hot in the spring/summer. For some reason if I have to much on my feet I also have more hot flashes. I know really weird Huh?

  4. Great top! I have had this one in my Nordstrom cart for a while now and I plan to pull the trigger on the navy floral one. I am loving the big earring trend this spring too! I just can’t wear heavy earrings. Are you finding any that are lightweight? Have a blessed day!!

  5. CUTE outfit, Cyndi! How nice to have a husband who makes you laugh AND takes your pics for your blog! Love each other!

  6. That outfit just looks great on you, Cyndi! And thanks for reminding us that we do need to laugh on occasion. My mom is very ill right now, and is kind of depressed, so taking care of her is sometimes quite sad! I always try to make her laugh before I leave, though.
BTW– Did you think anymore about the ladies conference that you had mentioned back in the summer? I’d love to attend if that something that you decide to do!

  7. Very pretty, Cyndi. I love the shoes! If you need a good laugh, try looking up Tim Hawkins on you tube. He is a Christian comedian/musician. He’s great. My hubby and I like to look up different Christian comedians to get us laughing or even some of the old stuff like the Carol Burnett show with Tim Conway and Harvey Korman. What great stuff. – Amy

  8. Love the outfit. The link for the criss-cross blouse does not show it in blue. Do you know if it is sold out?

  9. This outfit is absolutely adorable on you. I love the blouse and if the navy you have was online I probably would have bought it, but I have so much navy from last Spring, so should try to add some different color to my closet. 🙂 I love my floral one you modeled last year in the Spring in navy. 🙂 Thanks for the reminder to laugh. I love to be around funny people who make me laugh, as generally its not my personality to laugh out loud a lot. I feel so good when I do. 🙂 Now that you are suppose to get snow, we are suppose to warm up this weekend on the Oregon coast. 🙂

  10. I hear ya about daylight savings time. UGH! I don’t get how just one hour messes me up for so long! Ha ha.

This blouse is really pretty. I haven’t bought any of the criss-cross blouses because they are always so low and I try to avoid “having” to wear camis under because it gets so hot here.

What I really love is the picture of you laughing! Isn’t it amazing how a laugh can lift up our soul and make us look like we don’t have a care in the world even though we may be very burdened? I just love that. Proverbs 31:25-26 She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness.

I hope your cold weather doesn’t stay for long! I’ll be thinking about you from Texas where we will have our usual fluctuating weather from the 70’s to the 50’s to the 60’s and back to the 70’s all within a week! Oh my allergies …

    God bless!

    1. The brand is Lush from Nordstrom. If you click the link under my picture it takes you to the exact blouse. Hope that helps!

  11. Loving this top on you! And the more I see the frayed hem jeans, the closer I get to buying a pair! You are so photogenic…but my favorite today is of you laughing! You are so right, we need to LAUGH! Have a blessed day!

  12. How cute that both you & Jo-Lynne are wearing criss-cross shirts!!
It’s nice to see that you added a cami. I love this trick but sometimes I end up not buying the shirt knowing I’ll have to do that!
I was telling Jo-Lynne, that the prospect of wearing sandals is just making me giddy. We’re going to Phoenix this weekend to visit friends, and I’m almost more excited to wear my sandals than anything else!! ha ha!
