Pin Stripe Top + White Jeans

Hello from Hollywood, California! We stayed a few blocks from the Hollywood Walk of Fame and then we headed to the Hollywood sign. We had to get a picture with the sign, right?

We also went to the famous Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and I guess I was so excited I forgot to get a picture. It was exactly how I pictured it to be and it was fun to see all the designer stores.

I wore this pin stripe top from Nordstrom to church on Sunday in Las Vegas so when we snapped these pictures in Hollywood, I had been in a car for quite a few hours. For some reason, I can’t find this top online but I’m still looking!

Thank you for taking time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m on FacebookPinterest and my favorite one, Instagram.

Beauty For the Heart~~One of these days some simple soul will pick up the Book of God, read it, and believe it. Then the rest of us will be embarrassed. We have adopted the convenient theory that the Bible is a Book to be explained, whereas first and foremost it is a Book to be believed (and after that to be obeyed).
― Leonard Ravenhill, Why Revival Tarries

Oh that we would believe and obey.

Have a blessed day!

  1. These pants are a little shorter than others you have worn lately. How did you like the shorter length? For me, I think the top would be lovely with just the top tie. I would probably be adjusting those ties all day long. I do like the blue pin stripes with white pants, so I will take your inspiration and spin it my own way!

  2. I totally love this top! I think it looks great on you, and I’m kinda dying to try it on myself haha. Please share the link if you find it? I tried a similar top recently, and loved the look with white jeans, but the fit of the top was off and now I can’t get the look out of my mind. Love your style!

  3. Love your outfit! I wouldn’t wear the top on myself as very petite and would look way too childish on me but on you is great looking. The 3 bows overdo it for me…… The simpler the better on me as small boned too. Such problems we all have ,LOL!

  4. You guys are on quite the road trip…AMAZING! I noticed that cute top on your blog post Sunday and wondered if you’d be sharing it. Super cute! Safe travels! If you head up to San Francisco make sure you get ice cream at Ghirardelli…you won’t be sorry! Clam chowder at Boudin in a bread bowl is a must as well.😉 (these are my two personal favorites whenever we go into the city!)

  5. As always you look wonderful. I follow you every day but for the last several days your daily post keeps going directly to my junk mail on the iPad. Has something changed on your posts? Is this happening to anyone else? Luv to follow you and always love your scripture reference too!

      1. I have had the same problem. I got the post by email on 6/19 and then finally got another one by email today 6/22 so not sure what happened but glad you are back in my inbox. Santa Barbara is a beautiful place. We live about an hour away in Thousand Oaks which you drove past on your way. Wish we could have met. Enjoy the rest of your vacation!

  6. Love seeing all these beautiful places and following along on your trip. Are you still doing the Faster way to Fat loss? I’d love to know how that’s been while traveling.

  7. WOW !!! you guys must have won the jackpot hahaha !!! to travel to all these states in one setting, It sounds like your having a wonderful time, that’s all that matters, good for you guys. Praying for good health, safe travel for you. Take Care !!!

  8. I love the outfit and admire you taking a road trip with your husband. I don’t think I would enjoy such a long trip in the car but sounds like you all planned it out and are enjoying it.

  9. Santa Barbara is gorgeous! I remember seeing the most amazing sunset when I was there! God’s handiwork 🙏

  10. If you have a chance, stop at Paradise Cove in Malibu for breakfast/lunch~It’s on the beach! Enjoy the rest of your trip! By the way, LOVE that pinstripe top!!!

  11. Enjoying your travel blogs – you seem to be getting around very fast, Are you traveling by air or all car?
If by car, I never looked that good after a long car trip. Ha!
Always love your put together looks. I am pushing 70, but dress according to how I feel, which is much younger. I have taken care of myself, so look much younger and can get away with wearing some younger fashion. Keep up the encouraging, faith filled posts! Safe travels.

  12. Love the top! I have a very similar one from Banana Republic: white with black pin stripes, one bow near the shoulder and two other bows facing downward where yours are. I’m 64, a size 4 and have gotten so many compliments on the top. The top looks great on you. I don’t think it would look good in a much larger size.

  13. Great quote, Cyndi! And it is true that there is alot of good in our country, even if the news doesn’t make it sound so…

  14. Hi Cyndi, your outfit is so cute! I’m so enjoying your pictures, I feel like I’m on a trip too. So happy to hear you have met so many nice people along the way, I really admire you, you always take the high road, you are such a wonderful representation of a Christian, if someone says something negative you seem to take it in stride, I know we’re not supposed to let others still our peace nor our blessings, but it’s tough, right? Have a blessed afternoon!😊

  15. Glad that you are having a great time! I need to agree with some of the other ladies, I think the top is a no-no. Especially for someone my age. It looks like something a very young girl would wear, not a mature woman. Love the shoes and jeans though.

  16. Thanks for the wise words about kind people everywhere. As you correctly stated, it is very easy to be tricked into viewing the world or people who don’t share your views on a particular issue as wicked and deserving of scorn or much worse! Get out, be friendly and you’ll see the world from a much better place!

I am a self-confessed whacko liberal from Canada. Even by Canadian standards, which are extremely liberal, I’m living on the edge so to speak. But, I just want to say I love travelling to the U.S with the South being a particular favourite. Everyone is so charming and polite not to mention extremely witty! You can have a grand time waiting for your latte talking to whoever once you find yourself in Dixie. I’ve met wonderful people from Maine, California, the Midwest…. everywhere!

Cyndi, thanks for the gentle nudge we could all do with a little reminder to polish our social skills and put away the nasty bits!

Finally, I am going to do a little boast about Canada….. yes, it’s liberal but it’s ours and we love it! We might be a bit reserved but we’re very nice. I encourage everyone to come for a visit; it’s not as cold as you think. If you’re not going to visit, do yourself a favour and Google our Prime Minister, he is eye candy extraordinaire…… he just might change your mind about coming for a visit! For the record, even Ivanka Trump and Kate Middleton found it a tad difficult to maintain the required dignity and contain their enthusiasm! Hahaha!! He’s a treat!

    Cheers All!

  17. Cyndi, your email blast today was perfect for me when you said “I’m also amazed at all the sweet people we have met. Sometimes you can watch the news and think our country is crazy but that’s not all true. It’s good to see the good in our country. ” I was having a rough day yesterday just thinking of all the evil and the lies and conniving going on in our world and I was very down in the dumps. So you’re statement that it’s not true that the whole country is crazy really was something I needed to hear today. There are many good people in this world and we just need to believe it! I really like that top on you, too!

  18. Just really love the outfit and sandals. Beautiful pictures of where you two are at. Thank you for sharing.

  19. I would love to know the mileage total when you get home. What a wonderful time for you and Wayne!

  20. Love the pants and sandals but that top – no no no! Might be cute without those ribbons and bows. But no no no!

  21. You look great.. I think I remember the top on you before I saw your Sunday post.. nevertheless very cute and love the detail.. enjoy what seems to be a trip to remember.

  22. i love the shirt and hope you update if you can find it. I searched Nordstrom and can’t find it either.
    Safe travels!

  23. Your trip seems like a big blessing! Check out the Nordstrom in SB if you have time. You won’t regret it at all 🙂

  24. I for one LOVE the top…saw it on Insta over the weekend. Love it, the bows, the stripes and all that going one. Very cute for church. Enjoy that trip out west. I hope to do the same someday.

  25. I LOVE your comment about how you’ve found sweet people and goodness everywhere you’ve traveled! It is SO true that we often hear only the negative on the nightly news, and we begin to think everyone is going crazy; but it just isn’t so…..God’s influence can be seen in every state, every city, & every home in our great country.

As a California girl (born and raised) I frequently get strange questions or comments when I travel to other states (especially on the east coast or the south) about “those wacky Californians” – people assume that we’re all either shallow (think “Real Housewives”) or liberal wackos (our Gov Brown) – neither of which would describe me, my family or the hundreds of friends, neighbors, coworkers, or professionals that I have been surrounded by throughout my life. That’s why it’s so important to travel and experience first-hand the wonders of our amazing country. When my kids were little we started planning vacations within the US and began marking off states and cities visited on a large US map that hangs in one of my son’s closet. It has been so fun and such a history lesson as well, to see the differences and yet the similarities between people and places.

Enjoy Santa Barbara; it’s a favorite get-away spot for my husband and me (check out the Bacara Resort and Spa or the quaint “Cheshire Cat” B & B.) Also, you must drive into Solvang right next door to S.B. (a small Danish town filled with yummy bakeries & eateries along with gift shops galore!) On your drive back down south, I recommend taking the coast highway for beautiful scenery and stop in Malibu for dinner. Further south are my hometowns of Newport Beach and Laguna Beach (both so pretty and perfect weather this time of year….well I have to say we have almost perfect weather year-round!)

Wow, I’ve totally high-jacked your post as I ramble on and on about California! (I guess I felt compelled to share the highlights and some pride about my home state. 🙂 ) SORRY if I’ve bored you!!

In regards to your outift, you look adorable! I love that you show women that it’s important to dress fabulously and stay on-trend as they age (I just turned 50 last fall and refuse to let age define me!) I didn’t see a link to your earrings; are they Kendra Scott? (One of my favorite jewelry designers!!)

    God Bless!

  26. What a powerful and convicting quote you posted in “beauty for the heart”…
I always enjoy the outfits you share, and your fashion advice, but the thing I look forward to most in your emails is the devotional aspect. Even though I don’t know you personally, I need women like you in my life to remind me what matters most. Thanks so much for your faithfulness to speak wisdom and truth in your email.

  27. The shirt looks messy and too much going on in the front.
    Definitely is not you…
The capri jeans and sandals looks great!

  28. What a great trip you’re having Cyndi!!
I’ll be in LA the last weekend of June for a Fierce 50 photo shoot—too bad the timing didn’t work out better to meet up!!
I’ve seen this shirt but I was afraid there would be too much going on in the front with all of those ties! But it doesn’t look that way at all!!
    Have a great day!
