Stripe Top + Black Shorts

If you’re a fan of Gap, they’re have an extra 20% off using the code EXTRA and it works on sale items. I recently purchased this stripe top and styled it as a casual summer outfit.

The top would also be cute with a black or gray cardigan and jeans when the weather turns cooler this fall.

  1. LOL, I look at your blog every day and then go to the store that has the outfits you featured. Now I want to go to the Gap ! My husband is going to kill me! LOve this entire outfit but will wait for a sale before I buy that top. Also, you look fabulous, as always, in this outfit!

  2. I notice that you often style black outfits with tan shoes. When is it better to style with black shoes? I’m trying to do a better job at styling outfits and would like to know if there is a rule of thumb regarding black or brown shoes. Love the outfit by the way. Thanks!

  3. Hi Cyndi, I have been looking for ivory wedges that are not too high, and there they were on your feet today!!! lol I finally got my wedges thanks to you and dsw…. love your outfits!!!!

  4. Such a cute outfit! Love the picture of your cute grandson, he always has the sweetest smile as do you and your daughter!😊

  5. Love the colors in that top, Cyndi. I see a lot of you in the face of your cute grandson. They do grow up so quickly.

  6. I had seen this top online before, but it looks so much better on you! Thank you for showing us a summer top that can look great this fall, also.

  7. That’s a really cute handbag. I have noticed you showing some smaller bags lately, and wonder if this is a trend, or if it’s because you are balancing “lighter” summer clothing with a lighter bag. I would enjoy a post addressing upcoming handbag trends, if you’d consider doing one. I’ve accumulated several largeish bags, but not really anything smaller, and wonder if maybe I’m missing the boat!

  8. I really like the top. I don’t wear sleeveless tops so your top is a pretty solution to chilly air conditioning. I have 2 granddaughters 7 months apart. Both start kindergarten in a few weeks. Hard to believe as they all grow up too fast.

  9. Thanks for the heads up about the Gap sale, I have had my eye on a jeans jacket and it was on sale plus the 20% off…..I love it. Gotta start planning for fall! And every bit helps!

  10. Love this top! Finally something for those of us who don’t like to wear sleeveless or cold shoulder. ;-).

  11. I’m so glad to see you wearing shorts, Cyndi!! You’ve worked hard with your workouts and it really shows.
I know I don’t have many shorts because there was a time I didn’t think they were appropriate. Man, I’m glad I’m over that–haha!
Even my step mom (the 60+ model on my blog) had me alter a couple of older pair of shorts for her because she was visiting Palm Springs where it gets to be over 100 degrees in the summer.

  12. Super Cute outfit Cyndi! I am loving grey for fall – it’s just a little softer than black or navy.
Your grandson is adorable. I have two boys; one will be in Grade 12 (I think you call that a Senior in the US) and one will be in Grade 9 (Freshman?) in September. Time sure flies!
