Fall Color Crush-Burgundy

It’s time to start looking ahead to the fall season and today I’m sharing the color burgundy. Burgundy (Pantone calls it Tawny Port) is one of the top 10 colors this year. It’s rich, beautiful, and sophisticated.

This is one color you’ll want to add to your fall wardrobe whether you add a sweater, jacket, nail color, handbag, or shoes.

Beauty For the Heart~~“Gratitude is a constant attitude of thankfulness and appreciation for life as it unfolds. Living in the moment, we are open to the abundance around us and within us. We express appreciation freely. We contemplate the richness of our life. In life’s trials, we seek to understand, to accept, to learn.” ~Author Unknown

  1. I LOVE burgundy and love every piece you have shown in this post today. I don’t have much of it but I will probably purchase some for the fall. I do have a larger burgundy purse from Target that I bought and a smaller burgundy purse that my friend, Pam bought for me for Christmas (because I loved it when Cyndi featured it) and those two purses are two of my favorites! I love summer but am looking forward to fall wear as well!

  2. Excited to see these fall burgundy options but just no energy to shop in this awful heat here in Central California, not even online. I think I’m a blog post or 2 behind when you asked for suggestions. I’d like to see you style an outfit from a year or 2 ago showing it still can be current today. Maybe just switch out the accessories or pairing with one another piece of clothing. Or are all those clothes swimming on you now???!!!

  3. Love your color choice for today😀. I’m always so hooked on black and grey that I do plan to add this color and more olive green to my fall wardrobe. I picked up a pair of olive green pants last year as well as I have an olive green sweater cape and winter coat, and Micheal korrs boats. I Always get compliments as you don’t see that color very often.. I like the accessories you’ve shown as well, especially the purse and bracelet( may have to look into that😉. Thanks Cyndi …. I’m headed to the pool while we still have this hot weather:)

    1. Yes I LOVE this color burgandy. My favs are the booties and the tassel necklace. Defintely online shopping this weekend!

  4. I hemmed and hawed last year when in Italy, because I knew I wanted a nice handbag. Ended up with a burgundy bag with gunmetal accents on the handle, and wore it (not exclusively, but mostly) from September through February. It just works almost like a neutral. Also, for me, I tend to wear pretty conservative/classic styles, so I like to pop color in my accessories. Can’t wait to get that bag out again, and add some burgundy jeans and/or shoes.

  5. Burgundy is by far my favorite color for fall! I bought a beautiful sheer burgundy blouse with white polka dots, at Loft last season. Found a pair of pants that match exactly this season — can’t wait to wear them. Also found a pair of burgundy leather booties on sale at Macy’s last season. So I’m glad Pantone is featuring shades of burgundy, as this is also the accent color in my home. I think it just makes everything look richer.
Love that crossbody handbag you featured

  7. Love this color! When I was a child, my mother had an Aigner purse in this color and I thought it was so pretty. I remember her wondering if she should buy it because it was so expensive ($75 maybe LOL). Glad to see this color in back this fall!

  8. Yes Burgundy please , I can’t wait to wear it this fall , I just bought the striped top you styled yesterday and Gap is having a 40% sale so I got the top and a cardigan for less than what the top cost , I call that a win win , Thank you for helping me have awesome style and beauty on the inside .
Thank you and Bless you !!!!

  9. Burgundy is my favorite and so is Autumn. Last Saturday I purchased a burgundy pair of ankle pants at J.C. Penney. They are the A.N.A. brand and fit wonderfully. They are available in many colors and a few prints. I am looking forward to your upcoming styles for Fall. ~Lisa~

  10. I did buy those burgandy suede bootie during the Nordstroms sale – they are the purfect heel height for me and very comfortable. Can’t wait to wear them this fall!

  11. I love this color too! I bought some burgundy jeans late last season when they were on sale and can’t wait to wear them this fall! Think I’m going to try a pair of burgundy booties and maybe a handbag. 😮

  12. I love burgundy. Thanks for keeping us in trend. Looking forward to the next season, but for now, like your reflection mentions, just living in the presence. Enjoying summer.

  13. Just bought a pair of burgundy suede shoes yesterday and declared burgundy my favorite fall color. Then I read your blog this morning, glad to see I’m with it! 😊

  14. I just picked up some burgundy dress pants at Ann Taylor and a great burgundy sweater/blouse at LOFT. I have always liked this color and love it with navy and olive green for the fall.
As sad as it sounds this makes me want it to be fall already! I promised myself I wouldn’t wear my burgundy until after August! 🙂

  15. Yes, I love burgundy! It was very popular last year as well. I have several pieces, and flats, that I bought last year that will work again this year.
