Navy Cold Shoulder Top + Olive Pants

Welcome to 26 Days of Fall Fashion! I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. I took a little time off and didn’t post an outfit yesterday so I will have to add a day to the end of the series.

We celebrated two birthdays over Labor day and had lots of family time. It was a great weekend!

Today I’m styling a navy cold shoulder top with olive dress pants. I know some of you love the cold shoulder look and some of you don’t like it at all.

I personally like cold shoulder tops and dresses and while I understand they aren’t for everyone, I do style outfits that I actually wear and I wear cold shoulder tops. I hope that you understand and remember, “you do you.”

Navy Cold Shoulder Top + Olive Pants

I can’t get enough olive this fall and these olive pants are from Banana Republic.

Navy Cold Shoulder Top + Olive PantsI recently shared my Kate Spade handbag and sunglasses and I love them both!

Navy Cold Shoulder Top + Olive PantsMany of you love Nickel & Suede earrings. They are lightweight and this month the Bronze Beauty Leather earrings are only $18. They’re perfect for fall and I’ve already ordered them. I like the medium size earrings.

  1. I am writing this comment to ask for prayer for the women in my community. You see a week ago many woke up to insurmountable amounts of water in their homes. They have lost everything and no longer have wardrobes to choose clothes from as they have no closets. I worked with a mom and 2 daughters yesterday to pick from clothes that were donated to our church. They had to evacuate quickly and had nothing but the clothes on their backs. These ladies are no different than you and me, a schoolteacher, nurse and med student. I am so inspired how they are picking up and moving forward despite their circumstances. I know your blog reaches many women so please pray for those affected in Houston and the surrounding suburbs. As the news coverage subsides and less attention is paid these people need our support and prayers for peace and strength in the months to come as they put their lives back together.

  2. Your style reflects exactly what you are which is classy. Thank you for being an example of Christianity and class 🙂

  3. Love the olive and navy together. I ordered two pair of olive pants and can’t wait to get them. But these would be a good alternative if the others don’t work out. Did you order the regular or short? I guess short would be best for petite length or I’ll will just have to go try them on. Thanks for sharing!

  4. I have this top and love it!!! I have some gold leather earrings I love because they are so lightweight!!! Thanks for being fabulous!!!

  5. I love the pic with your grandson, too! So sweet! I’m interested in the jeans and top you’re wearing. Is it too much trouble to post links for those items?

  6. You look great in today’s outfit Cyndi….I love those colors together and your bag is unexpectedly fabulous! While I am not a fan of the cold shoulder trend on me, I appreciate seeing many different styles, colors and types of outfits on your blog and always get great ideas even if a particular item doesn’t work for me. I certainly hope people are being kind in their comments to you and consider how much time you put in to presenting your information to us. Have a great day!

  7. I have always loved navy and olive together! Now I have to say…the color of your bag is unexpected and wonderful! This is the perfect fall outfit. 😉

    P.S.

Cold shoulders are the best! Flattering and so right for in between weather.

  8. I’m loving the color combination in this outfit! The purse looks like an eggplant color in the pictures-so pretty with the olive! The cold shoulder trend is one I really like. At 58, it’s a flattering way to show a little skin-I call them my “hot flash” tops since they let some air in! Thanks Cyndi!

  9. I’m really liking the olive color denim this Fall too! So glad you were able to take some time off and enjoy your family celebrations! You& Colt are so sweet together! Be blessed today!

  10. Sounds like y’all had a fun weekend of celebrating! I really like the navy and olive green pants together. I’m thinking the dark green pants are a good staple item that needs to be added to my closet.

  11. Cyndi, count me in the cold shoulder top fans! I’m surprised so many don’t like it because to me, as I age it’s a great way to cover the inside upper arm, which is beginning to sag a little, while exposing a little bit of skin! And I love the navy/green combo!

  12. Glad you enjoyed your weekend with some time off. Our weather in the area of NC where I live has been absolutely gorgeous. You can feel the Autumn crispness in the air. Love the colors especially the handbag. Also, great pic of Colt Allen. ~Lisa~

  13. I find cold shoulder tops a fun, slightly more mature look than off-the shoulder, so I really appreciate you styling them…
I am excited about olive…such a great neutral!
Thanks for the reminder about peace….needed that today!!

  14. I personally don’t like the cold shoulder for me… but you look fabulous in them 🙂
I LOVE navy and olive together! Great outfit!

  15. I just finished commenting on Jo-Lynne’s blog how I thought her look today was olive and navy until I read the sweater was black. So funny yours really is olive and navy and I love it. I wouldn’t have thought of pairing the two and they look GREAT!!! I love the cold shoulder tops too (except I don’t really like my shoulders TO BE cold when the temps drop…LOL.) I think that top is darling! Have a great week Cyndi!

  16. I think it’s fun to try out new styles, too, Cyndi!
I’ve had some women say the same thing about the cold shoulder tops, but heck—even my mom (the 70+ model on my blog) has one and wears it quite a bit!!
It may look funny only because it’s different and not what we are used to. But usually our shoulders still look nice as we age, so it’s a great way to show off a little skin, I think!!
But in saying that, not all cold shoulder shirts are made the same either—some have smaller or bigger cut outs, and fall in different areas of the shoulders—so with that….it could work for almost anyone!!
    Love this color combination too!!

      1. hmmmmm…thanks for the tip. I love cold shoulder tops. Like Michelle C, I can move between a s & M. I bought the cold shoulder chambrary top in (august 15 post) from Loft in a small….how does that compare in fit to this one?
