25 Days of Winter Fashion: Gold Sequin Skirt under $50

Welcome back to 25 Days of Winter Fashion! I love dressing up during the holiday season and is there anything better than gold sequins? My sequin skirt fits true-to-size and is less than $50.

I paired the skirt with all black, it has a black elastic waistband which makes it comfortable. It’s also a little short but since I’m wearing black tights, I thought it worked

25 Days of Winter Fashion: Gold Sequin Skirt under $50 You can’t go wrong with fuzzy sweaters during the winter season and this sweater is so soft. It can be worn off the shoulder but I thought it was more comfortable this way.

Beauty For the Heart~~

As I was walking down life’s
highway many years ago
I came upon a sign that read
Heavens Grocery Store.

When I got a little closer
the doors swung open wide
And when I came to myself
I was standing inside.

I saw a host of angels.
They were standing everywhere
One handed me a basket and said
“My child, shop with care.”

Everything a human needed
was in that grocery store
And what you could not carry
you could come back for more.

First I got some Patience.
Love was in that same row.
Further down was Understanding,
you need that everywhere you go.

I got a box or two of Wisdom
and Faith a bag or two.
And Charity, of course,
I would need some of that, too.

I couldn’t miss the Holy Ghost
It was all over the place.
And then some Strength and Courage
to help me run this race.

My basket was getting full but I remembered I needed Grace,
And then I chose Salvation for
Salvation was for free
I tried to get enough of that to do for you and me.

Then I started to the counter
to pay my grocery bill,
For I thought I had everything
to do the Masters will.

As I went up the aisle I saw
Prayer and put that in,
For I knew when I stepped outside
I would run into sin.

Peace and Joy were plentiful,
the last things on the shelf.
Song and Praise were hanging near
so I just helped myself.

Then I said to the angel
“How much do I owe?”
He smiled and said
“Just take them everywhere you go.”

Again I asked “Really now,
how much do I owe?”
“My child” he said,
“God paid your bill a long, long time ago.”

Have a blessed day!

  1. Sweet, sweet memories! I.am so thankful for those too! And now grandchildren we get to make memories with! Do you know if you are having another grandson or a granddaughter?

  2. Too short for a middle age woman (skirt)….. If you talk with clothing designers, distributors, etc., how about conveying to lengthen hemlines? I know it’s hard to find these and still look fashionable. We want to be fashionable and not matronly looking. Thanks, Cyndi

  3. The poem is perfect for life and a cookbook. What a precious gift from your mom.
I wanted to ask what hair color product you use. Is it organic?
I want to make everything as chemical-free as possible in the new year.

  4. So pretty. You look so much better in the sweater than the LOFT model. My screen made the sweater and your tights look navy and your shoes black, so I’m glad you said its all black. I was wondering if navy and black was in. Ha Ha You have soooo many outfits to wear for holiday outings. You’re all set. What a neat poem. I love when you share about your mom(other family). I would love to have known your mom. She sounds wonderful. I’m sure you miss her sooo much. Heaven will be so wonderful to see our loved ones.

  5. Such a pretty outfit and I’m so glad
you have a daughter to leave that
    beautiful poem and cookbook to
    cherish forever!!
    Have a blessed evening!!

  6. Sweet poem the words are so beautiful. I like the skirt and with the black tights you can’t tell it’s short it flows right in.

  7. Beautiful post and poem. I also miss my Mom and Grandma so much. It makes me a bit melancholy at the holidays. Traditions are so different now but I am trying to make new traditions with my granddaughters. I have learned to cherish every moment I spend with them. Merry Christmas to you Cyndi and thanks for all your lovely ideas.

  8. The poem gave me goosebumps!

    You look lovely Cyndi.

Merry Christmas. I am certain that if you gave out your home address you would receive a truck load of Christmas cards and kind salutations from all of us gals!

    God blessings…

  9. Hello Cyndi 🙋🏻
I have almost the exact great outfit but reversed- sequin gold blouse and black velvet skirt. You would also look very nice a shimmery belt and long gold chain😊
I received my early Christmas gift today- My Husband and I are traveling all over South America (summer weather) for 4 weeks😃 We’re leaving tomorrow so today we’re going shopping!
Cyndi,I wish you and family a joyous and blessed Christmas as you celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ our Savior.

    Blessings always,
    Raquel

  10. Thank you Cindy for sharing fashion and faith. The poem is very touching and reminds me I need to keep my faith basket full every minute of the day.

    God bless,
    Karen

  11. Adorable, as always!
That poem gave me chills! So beautiful! So tru! I wished I’d have met your mom!
Hugs, Cyndi! Thank you for sharing her stories with us!

  12. Thank you for sharing the poem! It is wonderful, a good reminder of what is really important. You look fantastic in the outfit.

  13. You look adorable,as always! I especially loved the poem. Do you know who wrote it? I’m going to share with others, I hope that’s okay!!!

  14. First of all what a cute outfit… it ‘s perfect for the right holiday gathering and you’ve styled it with class.
Second thank you for sharing such a heartfelt poem. I know exactly what you are saying. I am very fortunate that I have my mom and dads wedding album and many memories written down that surrounded that day. I wish I had actually wrote down more questions I had asked my mom over the years, as now its too late and you can’t always remember everything. So when my dad was sharing his family history at the table one night for supper I asked him to go home and write it all down for me and he did, now I have that and a copy of our family tree he had worked on for over 10 years. I had no idea when I asked him to do that, that he would be gone this past April. Time here seems so short these days, and we think we have forever. I’m so glad I have what I do to look back on, and I am going to make it a new years resolution to start my own journal. My daughter has my grandmothers. ( a nice keep sake)
    Merry Christmas
    Karen

  15. Beautiful poem and just what I needed today! So thankful to follow you daily! Hope you and your family have a blessed Holiday season!

You look beautiful, Cyndi! I love the gold bling! I work at a University with black and gold as our colors, so I’m in love with your outfit!!

  17. What a beautiful poem, and I may shamelessly borrow it to share with my family this Christmas. I had chills by the time I finished reading it. What a precious memory!!!
I love this outfit, simple, festive and looks comfy too! Elastic waistband – uh, yeah!!! 🙂 – I mean it’s the holidays right – and we all need a little wardrobe grace this time of year! I think the length is perfect especially paired with all black.

  18. How beautiful. The poem is very appropriate for this season of giving. In this world of hussel and bussel it is good to slow down and think of what really amtters.

  19. I have been missing my parents so much. My Mom has been gone 3 years and my Dad 11 years to the day ,before. The poem is wonderful and is so comforting, Jesus paid it all. Your outfit is darling and the tights are perfect

  20. Beautiful poem, your mom would be proud of you for sharing it and your memories. I love this blog mostly for your love of Jesus and secondly for fashion! Have a blessed day!
