Passionately Pursuing Jesus

I was thinking this week about my passions. If someone were to ask me, “What’s your passion, Cyndi?”  Hands down, I would say, “Jesus Christ.” I’m passionately pursuing Jesus.

Do the people around me know that I’m passionate about Christ? Would the people I come in contact with throughout my day know that I’m passionate Christ?

Would the women who visit my blog know, while I love fashion and beauty, that my real passion is Christ?

We can be passionate about many things including, our family, our jobs, our hobbies, etc. But none of those will bring us true happiness. While they’re not bad things, they can’t compare to what is waiting for us in heaven for those who know Jesus.

Matthew 6:19-21 reminds us, “Don’t store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves don’t break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

This week look at what you spend your most time doing when you have free time? Is that your passion? If you want your passion to be Jesus, do you spend time with Him? Are you reading His word?

Maybe you’re in a difficult season, and you feel you’ve lost your passion for Jesus. Start the week by surrendering every difficulty to Him. Release the questions, hurts, and frustrations. Trust Him with your life. He’s got this.

I’ve been listening to this song a lot over the last few weeks, and I thought I would share it with you! Jesus leaves the ninety-nine every time to find the one! He is so so good to us.

Have a blessed Sunday!

  1. Wow Cyndi, I was thinking the same thing
as I spent the entire weekend “spring cleaning”
and stepping back to look at any collections
that I have and will it still be useful or helpful
to me or if they are really that important!
But please Lord, can I keep my cookbook
collection just a little longer? LOL!!

  2. We will be singing this song next Sunday and I will be playing the piano in our Praise Band. I don’t think we will ever be able to, this side of heaven, understand just how much He truly loves us. Cyndi, thanks for sharing your heart and blog with us. Have a blessed week! 😊💕

  3. Beautiful song and, believe it or not,I’ve never heard it before. I have my radio on ALL the time to Christian rations plus my son is the drummer at our church of 1500 …. and this song is still a “newbie” for me. What a blessing this morning. Thank you so much,Cyndi!!! Your encouraging, edifying words are what keep me reading your sweet blog. Be blessed and be a blessing today sweet ladies all across our beloved country!!! Rochelle in s-l-o-w-l-y warming Iowa😉

    1. Whoops ! I meant stations. Although considering we are to “ feast on the Word” maybe “ rations” would be appropriate as well! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

  4. This was such a blessing this morning. The song is so beautiful, I had to send it to my son. I have loved your site for quite some time now.I lost my husband in a tragic accident this past year. But Jesus has been with my family and I every step of the way. He is so good; even in pain and sorrow. This song really spoke to my heart. I have shared your site with many people. Thank you Cyndi!

  5. So much YES!!! One of my sons is a worship leader at our church, when he ‘leads’ on this song I just cannot contain my joy and praise! Nothing like knowing the Love of God and hearing your own son sing it with such passion!! Speaking of passion… I’m glad to hear your thoughts on it. I’ve periodically wondered what to say when asked what I’m passionate about… I’m not the kind that has just that one thing in life that I’m so passionate about that I know what to answer. BUT- I am very passionate about my savior and I desire to always bring glory and honor to Him! Whatever a day may bring, whatever He sets before me for that day- that is what I want to do! Despite the circumstances of my life at the moment, my prayer is always, Lord lead me in the way You would have me to go, I want to follow You and show others Your Great Love.
I love this group and how you share your faith! Thank you!
    Blessings abundant!

  6. I love that He loves me so much that he’s willing to pursue me! Every single time. His love never fails, it never gives up, it never runs out on me. I can’t even begin to understand why but so glad that He does. Blessings to you!

  7. Such a blessing you are Cyndi! You’re the real deal, sharing Jesus Christ! God’s Word and people are the only things that last into eternity! I try to keep that my focus while also enjoying the blessings I have here and now because of Him! God Hugs! ❤️

  8. We’ve been singing this song at church for the last month or so. It has quickly become a favorite of our family! So much so that when my daughter’s middle school leadership teacher asked them to bring an inspirational song to share with the class, this is the one she shared!!

  9. Thanks for your Sunday post. As a fellow pastor’s wife, I know the different seasons of ministry. Praying for you and Wayne and the plans God has for you. Thank you for your willingness to share your love for Jesus.

  10. Cyndi! This is the same song I’ve been listening to all week and I can’t get enough of it. It is a powerful reminder of all that we have been rescued from and the overwhelming love He has for us!

  11. I just love you Cyndi…thank you for sharing your love and passion of Jesus Christ. You encourage me in SO many ways!XOXO

  12. Love that song! It plays on the radio almost every day as I drive home from work. It really helps me let go of any stress or mistakes in the day and approach my family time filled with grace and joy.

  13. Love this song! It was one of the main songs sung at our Student Winter Camp over Presidents Day Weekend. I keep thinking about the words … and left the 99.
