How Do We Live Victoriously?

After this week’s events of two well-known people committing suicide, I thought it would be appropriate to talk about How Do We Live Victoriously?

We live in a fallen world and there’s no doubt that life can get hard. But, we have to remember, as believers, this is not our home. Whatever you are going through today know that “it too shall pass”.

1 John 4:4 says, But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.

I’m so thankful to know that Christ is greater than whatever we will face in this world. We can live victoriously with Him.

This is such a great song by Mercy Me. When I listened to the song again, I imagined it this way.

  • Bring your tired-✔
  • Bring your shame-✔
  • Bring your guilt-✔
  • Bring your pain-✔✔

But it doesn’t end there……GRACE. Christ has won the war. He’s greater, and we are redeemed, forgiven, and free!

Have a blessed Sunday!

  1. Thanks Cyndi. With another day with chronic migraine and feeling isolated from others, I’m trying to cling to Him. Hard when I’ve lived a life with migraines for 31 yrs. I keep praying for healing, but they only get worse each year. Trying to trust Him and understand. Needed your words to remind me.

    1. Kathy, I had chronic migraines from age 30-50 but after going regularly to an upper cervical chiropractor they are all but gone. Only once in awhile when I’m under a lot of stress.

  2. Cyndi….thank you for your kind and wise words. Love Mercy Me….what a wonderful and powerful song! Bless you for sharing your faith. Your faith is mine, too! <3

  3. Thank you Cyndi for your kind words. We have no idea when we come across people on a daily basis what they may be going through. So may we always have a smile and kind words.

  4. Cyndi. Thank you, thank you. I needed that upbeat song and words of wisdom today. Bless you. Sharon

  5. I feel compelled to say this as I have known people who are depressed. Sometimes it is chemical imbalance in the brain. They need to have meds for anxiety prescribed by dr. but some people don’t seek that out as they think they don’t need help. I certainly don’t know the answer but sometimes I think people are quick to judge and try and figure out why. We can’t know what is in another person’s mind. Better not to speculate.

  6. Five years ago, My best girlfriend tOok her Life at 50 yrs old and the pain was so great that i can only imagine what their Families are going through. I miss her dearly. Thank you for sharing this song. I love Mercy Me.

  7. I understand your thoughts and I know God has us covered. Those suffering from depression and anxiety have a real battle. It’s not about life just being hard or things just going wrong. It is about a 24 hr a day sense of hopelessness that tears at your well being. It is a sadness that prevails even though you would rather not feel that way. You would choose to live joyously. Some can never find the right medication to give them the chemical balance they need in their body. I speak this way because I have suffered from depression my entire adult life. I choose life and I have a great foundation in Christ, but the battle is real and some days its more severe than others. I hope people that have not reached out for help, will reach out.

    1. Terri thank you for your beautiful words. I totally agree with what you said about depression, the battle is real. I think some people try only medication and don’t have a hope in Christ and I wanted to suggest He can help too.
Thank you again for your comment,
      Cyndi
