Summer Dress Under $60

Happy Monday! Well, it’s downright hot here in Kentucky but no fear, I’ve got a cool summer dress from Nordstrom that’s under $60.

The dress has soft ruching on both sides, and it comes in several different colors. If you want to add a structured blazer, this one is on sale and would make the dress more work appropriate.

Summer Dress Under $60With this style of dress, Spanx are non-negotiable. These are the most comfortable ones I’ve ever worn; I think I could sleep in them.

Summer Dress Under $60I recently purchased a couple of pairs of tassel earring from Accessory Concierge. These white ones will go will a lot of my summer outfits.

Summer Dress Under $60With all the hot weather we have had in the last few weeks, the more I want to wear dresses.

  1. Hi Cyndi, I love your blog! The Leith Dress is very pretty and I love the style. I am only 5’3, so I am wondering if the length would work for me. Can you share how tall you are? Thank you.

  2. This dress is lovely, but only a handful of women could wear it; you’re one of them, for sure, But every lump and bump would show on those of us who have problem figures. I am a little depressed.

  3. Love seeing all the outfit, beauty and fashion advice! You always look classy and that’s what I strive for! Also thanks for remembering the Lord by giving us scripture along the way!

  4. Cyndi, just wondering if you had any idea why Glamour Farms has closed. Aren’t you affiliated with them? I enjoyed their clothes and hated to see them go. Enjoying your blog so much!

  5. Cyndi we always tell you how great you look but when i opened your email this morning i literally said “wow” out loud. This dress is so flattering on you. I just wish i had somewhere to wear it. But i did order that floral top from target yesterday ☺️

  6. Beautiful outfit! I love all the details that work together. YOu look so classy & picture perfect!

  7. You look so pretty in this dress!
I was wondering if you were wearing
a full- body spanx? You look so smooth
your whole backside, was this too personal LOL!
Have a blessed evening and can’t wait to
hear about your trip to Utah!!

  8. I love this dress! It can be dressed up or dressed down and I like the color you’re wearing best of all the choices.

Question: do you find that the legs roll up on the Spanx when you wear them? I have a pair and every time I wear them, the bottom part of the leg starts rolling and it drives me crazy.

Comment: the floating ad on the right of your website covers the content on your website when using my iPad in landscape. It may be because your content is centered on your web page instead of left justified. Or it could be only happening to me! Who knows but I just wanted to share that with you.

    1. No these Spanx do not roll up. I have had some that do and it’s annoying. thank you for letting me know about the ad, I’ll contact the people who do them for me.

  9. Beautiful classy dress:) would be very nice for a wedding or a dress up occasion. I have been more casual these days even for church. It’s funny how people don’t dress up for church like they used to. I’m so glad you shared that you are wearing spanx thanks for being honest. We had a great father’s day,and our daughter got engaged!! We are so excited. It will be a summer wedding next year so lots of fun ahead.
    Thanks for your BFTH

  10. highlights are too light still to see on my computer. is it only mine….or are others still having difficulties.
    Thanks cyndi.

  11. Cindy, you look absolutely stunning in this dress! I agree with wanting to wear dresses when it is so hot and muggy. I live in Nevada so we don’t have the humidity like you do, but it does get quite warm.

  12. Hi Cyndi, you look adorable, as always. But I’m a size 10, and I don’t know if I could pull this off. It looks like a better fit for a much thinner woman.
Ladies I have a question. I’m not the most fashionable. I’ve never worn Spanx. I see it as kind of a form of “cheating”. Like trying to be something I’m not. Am I bonkers? Is there a point other than trying to disguise the baby pouch I really should be exercising away? I am awfully hard on myself and almost feel like I’m not worth the extra $ for the Spanx. Do you wear them? What’s the point? Is it “cheating”? I’d really like to know which way to go with this. I usually just don’t wear anything that would show off my imperfections. Which is a lot! 😊

    1. Becca, your comment makes me sad. A size 10 is the perfect size to wear anything! Imagine if we were all size 2/4 what a boring world it would be on top of that is totally unrealistic. The average size in America in 14, I think. If they make the dress in a size 10, you, or anyone could definitely wear it if they are comfortable enough to do so. IMO Spanx in no way is cheating. It’s just helping out (panty lines, extra bulge, etc) a bit. Even the most fit and slim person needs them at times. There are also less $$$ alternatives to Spanx if you don’t want to invest that much. You are way too hard on yourself. A 10 is a perfect size and so is a 12 or 14 or 16 or a 6 or what ever. We need to stop comparing ourselves to others and be the best you can be. Maybe follow some bloggers who’s bodies are a little more realistic and average. Cyndi is beautiful but let’s face it, we’re not all size 2. And why should we be? See above. Sorry for the rant; your comment just struck a chord. Please stop the negative self talk and relize nobody is perfect even if it appears so.

      1. Agree that shapers don’t have to cost as much as Spanx brand. I’ve gotten great ones at Bealls Outlet and I bet Walmart even has good options. They don’t make you look thinner, they just reshape what you have. l personally see the difference in the saddlebags area when I wear shapewear. It gives a smoother, not smaller, shape.

      2. Thank you, Bonnie, and all the ladies. Yes, if we were all a size 2 it might be boring, but life would be a lot easier for us bigger ladies. As a woman who grew up a size 8, with sisters who were a 4 and a 2 soaking wet, they reminded me daily what a “big girl” I was. I know I need to get over it, especially at 40! But sadly, I still feel scars, some days worse than others. Add a couple babies and a body that’s bumped up to a size 10 and it’s hard to feel confident enough to wear anything. Dresses don’t work on me. Sisters are honest, even if it hurts, and they’ve always told me my shoulders are too wide and my chest is too large, and I’m too tall (5’9”) and “manly”. So I’ve never really felt like I deserved pretty things. I’m not as tiny and feminine as they are. And when I had to wear a dress – prom, wedding, etc. I’d usually get something like “seriously? You’re going to wear that? In public? It clings to your fat boobs and do you really want to show off your bird legs?” So I thought it was ironic when you said if I was comfortable enough to wear it, because I’ve never really been comfortable enough to wear much. I’m usually just too big. I just shared with my husband the other day “I wish I could wear a pretty sundress.” And he said “you can! I’d love to see you in a sundress, you’d look so pretty.” But I really can’t, I’m too large and I have manly shoulders. I wear a large in all my tops and sundresses are more for smaller women.
I’m sorry for going on about this, but it’s been bugging me forever. I wish, for maybe just one day, that I could feel pretty and good enough to wear feminine clothes and know what it’s like to look pretty. For just one day.
Thank you so much for listening! It helps my heart!! 💕

    2. Yes Becca, I agree with Bonnie go for the dress, and spanx or any under garment that helps is not cheating. We all, even the small, have lumps and bumps and yes cellulite. Our beauty is within and we need to accept ourselves as we are and be happy and healthy.

    3. Hi Becca, Spanx are never cheating on anyone. Some clothes need a very smooth look and that’s only achieved with Spanx. In my opinion, it’s not attractive to show your panty line and this dress shows that without Spanx.

Also, nothing wrong with a size 10. God made each of us different sizes and we all have imperfections. Celebrate YOU!

  13. Cyndi, you look amazing in this dress!! Wowzzers!

LOVE BFTH today too, thank you!

(I had a very good friend that was at the YL week in Utah too!)

    Blessings

  14. You look amazing in this dress but there is not enough ruching in the world, or body armour to make me look good in this dress. lol But I can always dream. Praising God I am prefect in my Father’s eyes… thank you Jesus…

  15. The dress looks beautiful on you. Thank you so much for the Spanx advice. If you were not wearing spanx and looked like that naturally I’d really be depressed!! ha ha

  16. This dress is fantastic! and if I looked that good in it I would have it in every color :). Spanx with this kind of dress, I agree, is a must. The ruching on the sides helps some, but doesn’t help the back smooth side. I see so many women, of all ages, who should REALLY look in the mirror at both sides before they leave home panty lines, thong lines, dimples, ripples – geez :)!
