Good Monday morning! It’s the final week of 21 Days of Summer Fashion, and I’m going to do something a little different. Each day this week I’m going to share basic summer wardrobe pieces that I wear over and over again. These are the pieces that can be mixed and matched with trendier pieces or wear them alone for a classic look.
Nothing says summer like a navy and white outfit. I recently purchased this navy top from Banana Republic, and I love the twist hem. No need to tuck this top in because it sits perfectly on your hips. It’s a super soft stretch-modal fabric that’s light enough to layer, and it resists wrinkles.
Nude pumps are a classic heel that will always be in style. You can wear nude heels with dresses, jeans, skirts, etc.
White jeans are another basic wardrobe piece. My white jeans are from Banana Republic and are on sale for $50.
Jewelry is such a fun accessory to add to your outfits. I love trendy jewelry, but I have a few pieces that are classics that I wear every season.
I purchased my Michael Kors watch several years ago, and I love adding it to my outfits. I also have several of these Kate Spade bracelets that are classic bracelets, and I wear them throughout the year.
All of these pieces can be mixed and matched with other pieces in my wardrobe. Do you have some basic pieces that you wear year after year?
Navy Twist Hem Top (I’m wearing an XS)// White Jeans (I’m wearing a size 28 Tall)//Nude Heel//Watch (similar style here)//Bracelet//Earrings and clutch are sold out.
Be sure to visit Jo-Lynne and see what she’s styling.
I’m so honored that you have taken time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on Facebook, Pinterest, and my favorite one, Instagram.
Beauty For the Heart~~I love a fresh week, don’t you? It’s the perfect time to begin again, to be reminded of Lamentations 3:22-23, For his mercies never end. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness!
As you go throughout this day, know that God will show up with enough new mercy to get you through whatever this day holds.
Have a blessed day!
Very nice, miss Spivey. Very nice, indeed.

Do the white jeans not run True to size? I see you went up a size and I don’t remember you ever getting tall. If I wear LOft size 27,size 4 and 5’3” and usually get petite length what do you think I’d order in this brand. I saw them in the store and didn’t try but wish I had. Do they run small? I sometimes don’t like petites as the crotch area fits weird but need Shorter length still. Thanks for sharing about your granddaughter. Sweet picture. You are fortunate to live so close to your grand kids. Thanks for the BFTH, I needed it today.
Love your style and the outfits that you select. Such class! Plus I can’t believe you’re old enough to have a granddaughter – congratulations! I am blessed with 7 grands and love them all so much.
Bless you.
Ps: You’re a doll baby!
Hi Cyndi,
You can never go wrong with navy and white.
You look stunning.
Claire is such a beautiful blessing.
By the way I did find the USA t-shrt in store at Target.
Leaving for Kure Beach NC tomorrow. Enjoy the 4th of July!!!!!
I love this outfit. You can never go wrong with navy and white. I was wondering why you chose tall in the jeans? They look great; I just don’t recall you ever needing tall. Also, is there a way I can change my email address for receiving your emails? I can’t see anywhere on your site. Your grandbaby is absolutely beautiful! Don’t they just melt you? Have a wonderful week!
Hi Nicole, Can you email me at hello@cyndispivey.com? Tell me what address you want to use and the one you want to delete. Thank you!!
I love navy and white. Is reminds me of summer on the lake or ocean. As always you look wonderful. Love the picture of your granddaughter. It reminds me when my 3 granddaughters we first born. Two are 6 and one is 2. God Bless
Love your outfit and so glad I bought those earrings when you first posted them. I get compliments on them all the time. 😊 What a sweet baby girl! I know you all are so in love with her. Tell Courtney the Wombie swaddles are wonderful! Wish I had known about them when the twins were born.
Love the navy and white, a nice change from the habit of black and white which I usually draw to… Your granddaughter is so sweet. How proud you all must be… She looks like a little angel:)
Hard to believe the 21 days of summer is almost done…
Looking forward to your closet basics as it’s always good to make sure we a aren’t missing anything.
Blessings

A few days ago, you mentioned a blog for plus size women.I would like to pass this along to a friend but can’t find the link. Could you send it to me again? Thanks.
Yes, it’s called Dimples On My What http://dimplesonmywhat.com/
Claire is a beautiful baby! Purely Perfect!
I love the navy and white and with the pops of color, you look great!
I’m more of a classic’s girl, too, but adding the trends make it much more fun.
Have a wonderful week!
Love the entire outfit, dress it up or down. Thank you for sharing👍🏽💕
I LOVE this outfit! But navy and white are classics 🙂 I always shopped at BR when I worked in an office . And your granddaughter is precious! I love seeing the Instastories your daughter posts . Have a great day!
Thank you for the photo of your dear sweet granddaughter. Today is the 3rd anniversary of losing my sisters daughter and I am feeling sad. This photo gave me a wonderful warm smile.
Your Grandaughter is soooo cute. My oldest just graduated high school and my youngest is headed into high school in the fall. I can’t believe they were ever that little!
Your outfit is fantastic! I can totally shop my closet for this one. 🙂
Very nice outfit! That Granddaughter of yours! So very precious!
Yes, my wardrobe is mostly basics with a few fun pieces – and the fun pieces I won’t spend a lot of money on, but my basics I will. Black pants, navy pants, a pencil black skirt, white jeans, blue jeans, nude shoes, a nude purse and black purse, a white blouse, and cardigans in various colors – these are my basics, and most I wear for several years before replacing. As a woman who works outside of the home, dressing needs to be less stressful. The “basics” formula works for me and helps get me out the door. I save most of the fun wear for the weekends, but have found I tend to stick to basics there too :).
Your granddaughter is so sweet! I know your heart is full!
I would have never thought to put pink and yellow with navy what a cute combo
Claire is beautiful. God’s most precious blessing.
I always love Mondays for this reason exactly!
The basics are basics because they are always so fabulous, and that punch of color with your purse keeps it so modern, Cyndi!!
XOXO
