Your Word Is A Lamp For My Feet

I often get asked what devotional book I use most often. I have used lots of different books over the years everything from Oswald Chambers to Charles Stanley to Sarah Young.

But, can I tell you my very favorite one?? It is truth, it’s filled with everything I need, and my guess is most of us have it right now.

It’s the Bible, and it’s a love letter written just for you and for me. If you look in the back of your Bible, most of them come with a 365-day reading plan.

Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.” Scripture helps us not only see God more clearly, but it also helps us with what we’re going through in our life.

Today’s reading in my Bible is Mark 8:22-9:1. I ask myself these two questions before I begin reading. “What is this scripture saying and How can I apply it to my life?”

Sometimes I will read it, and it will speak to me about something that I’m dealing with at that moment, but at other times I may not sense it speaking to me.

Here’s the thing, Isaiah 55:11 says, “It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.”

While I may not feel it applied to my life at that moment, I’m hiding God’s’ word in my heart (Psalm 199:11) and at some point I will need that scripture and because I’m hiding it in my heart God will bring it back to my mind just when I need it.

I love reading a good devotional and hear what God is saying through that person, but truthfully, God can speak to each of us if we will only open His word and read it.

He is our HOPE ladies!

I’m so honored that you have taken time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and my favorite one, Instagram.

Have a blessed Sunday!

  1. Thank you Cyndi, His word helps
me through my day and when I see something
that is so beautiful, I thank Him for letting me
    be a witness to it!!
    Have a blessed day!!

  2. I agree! My favorite part of the day is my devotional time. My friend wrote her first book, and we are stepping out in faith (ok… feels more like driving off a cliff at this moment) and hosting a women’s conference based on same. Pray for us! I get to share about the importance of devotional time every day. Thank you for being so real and faithful in all you do, Cyndi. You are such a blessing. ♥️

  3. Cindy, your fashion posts are always fun and informative but my favorite is the Sunday’s posts! I also love to hear what song you will include. Thank you Cyndi for your encouraging words!

  4. Thanks for your post. I had a really hard day yesterday and still struggling today. God’s word is so comforting yet sometimes rejection from family can pierce the heart so badly. Your post is a comfort to me and I thank you for it.

  5. Dearest Cyndi, thank you…
This past week was a difficult one..many temptations to explode…thank God I maintained..

    TY,

  6. I am reading, “Finding the Love of Jesus from Genesis to Revelation.”
It speaks specifically to how Jesus loves women, and how we can accept that love.

  7. Ever since Amy Grant came out with her song Thy Word, this has been a powerful verse. I don’t know about you, but whenever a verse is incorporated into a song I find myself singing to the Lord much more frequently! Have a blessed day Cyndi! I would love to see some more recent photos of Clare, I bet she is growing fast!

  8. Love your posts – clothes and all but most your quotes especially this one from the BIBLE!!!!!!!

  9. I was meditating on that verse from Ps 119 yesterday. So grateful for His word. It truly does lead our way. Thank you for sharing.
