Remember to Remember His Faithfulness

Why is it so easy to forget God’s faithfulness? Life is going good and then suddenly something rocks our world, and we can’t remember His faithfulness, and we can’t see how it will ever get better. We’re not sure God can even get us through the crisis.

Scripture reminds us over and over to remember. Remember His faithfulness from the past.

Psalm 77:11-12 says, I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.

There are things we can do to remember His faithfulness, but one of the best ways is to go back to places that are spiritual markers in your journey. Places when God showed his power in your life when he was guiding you in a very clear way.

I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds. Psalm 77:12

Recently Wayne and I (it was during his birthday weekend)went back to several places that are markers on our spiritual journey. One of those places was on a hill, and we gathered stones and made a memorial right there. We prayed and remembered God’s faithfulness and His calling on our lives.

We prayed and asked God to continue to show us His faithfulness.

Remember to Remember His FaithfulnessAnother thing we can do is to begin our day thanking Him for what He has done but also for what He is going to do.

I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. Psalm 9:1

God has a plan and a purpose for our lives, and we are here on this earth for a reason. If we are breathing, we still have something God wants us to accomplish.

Lastly, tell of His faithfulness. I know God has been faithful to me and I want to share it with other people. We can use our testimonies to encourage and strengthen other people.

This song was why I wrote this post because it reminds us that life is a journey. It’s not always easy, there are mountains and valleys but let’s choose to remember His faithfulness.

Have a blessed Sunday!

  1. My Dad was in intensive care last week, he is now in a rehabilitation facility. He is 82 years old and a man of God! I thought we were going to lose him twice, I thank God with all my heart for what He has brought us through these last 2 weeks and I hear in His word(The Bible), songs, family, friends and now your post how Faithful He is, and He is ❤

  2. Thank you, Cyndi! I really needed this today too. I think we all need to remember God’s faithfulness because it’s so easy to look at our circumstances rather than God’s faithfulness in bringing us out of the hard situation. God bless you! P.S. I really enjoyed the song too – Steven Curtis Chapman is one of my favorites too!

  3. Thank you! This message really hit home. I have been a bag of emotions as my husband was diagnosed with cancer. I am praying and trusting God.

  4. I needed this today. My husband of 22 years began having affairs 4 years ago. I tried to give him another chance but unfortunately he didn’t change his behavior. My husband isn’t really a practicing Christian so that doesn’t help my situation. Even after everything, im struggling to give up on us. I also live in the same area you do. Thank you for your post.

  5. Yes, Cyndi, I totally understand what you are saying. In the past I have been in the dark valleys but with the Lord’s help manage to safely reach the other side. This past year, my husband has been through a series of health issues, one after another. In the darkest of times I was praying as I drove home from the hospital when these words came to me..” Don’t give up on him”. I knew immediately that God was speaking straight to me. I have held on to those words through our long journey for 9 months. There were times when I prayed for God to place angels around him, and I believe he has done just that. I also prayed for God to remove the works of the devil from our lives, and that has happened too, just when I thought I couldn’t handle one more thing. Every morning I thank Him for our blessings and ask for strength for the day and hope for a bright tomorrow. I have a peace that keeps me losing it and going to pieces. I hope my witness will somehow, some way help someone who also has had their life turned upside down from life’s hard places.

  6. Cyndi, this post was so timely. Some transition time in our lives and in our church, and it is easy to let the enemy steal the joy from our worship.
We had a good service today. We are trusting Him in the storm…
    Blessings on you, Girlfriend!

  7. I have been worrying about our finances due to the large bills from an unexpected medical emergency last winter. Such a good reminder to remember God’s faithfulness. The first time I heard this song a few months ago, my husband and I wept as we remembered how faithful God has always been to us. It was just what I needed to hear again today! Cyndi, God has given you an amazing platform and I am so thankful for your ministry. ❤️

  8. I SORELY needed this message today! He is faithful indeed and I don’t know why it’s so easy for us to forget?
Thank you for sharing! xo Heidi

  9. OH Cyndi…..you are a blessing. Your post was spot on. I just had got up this morning still sick, I’ve been down for days with it and started that negative attitude in my mind, wishing I could be well and go to church and that lifes struggles right now in my life would go away. I had to stop right then and take my thoughts captive and then began to THANK the LORD for what I do have and what HE’S done in my life. Satan wants us discontent. Life’s struggles are part of our journey and He is teaching us through them. Thanks for the reminder and confirmation to me today. I’m going to lay here sick and REST in HIM…..well and watch Hallmark too. Ha Ha. Sometimes I think He can use our sickness to get us to BE STILL AND KNOW…… Blessing to you today.

  10. I admire you because you listen to God, you obey God and you trust God. What a testimony for a wonderful life of a Christian.

  11. Shabbat sholom. One of my favorite songs is Great is thy Faithfulness . We have had our losses and our Joy’s in 42 years of marriage. He has been faithful through it all. Keep on trusting. In His love,KT

  12. I’m home with a migraine on this rainy Sunday morning with my two daughters while my husband leads a revival in a nearby town. We’re in a season of rejoicing in life and ministry, but have gone through some times of grief, as well. God is faithful! God’s faithfulness through the journey has been a theme recently in my time with God. I LOVE your road trip idea, and think we may do this as a family next week during Fall Break! Thank you for sharing!🙏🏻💕

    1. Rocsy…..praying your migraine goes away. I also woke up with a migraine this morning….have them all the time. I know the struggle of being a migrainer. Breaks my heart to hear when anyone deals with them. Blessings to you.

  13. Thank you Cyndi. This is a wonderful reminder and something I especially needed today. Thank you for sharing and for all your BFTHs.

  14. What a good word! It goes right along with what I’m studying in the Bible about Joshua and God’s faithfulness to the Israelites. He has been so very faithful in my life also. Your words have encouraged me!

  15. Cyndy, I love the idea of placing memorial stones and praying, similar to when the Lord commanded Joshua to direct the 12 tribes to place stones in the Jordon. Beautiful act of worship. Have a great Sunday in the Lord!
