Color Crush: Burgundy Is The Color For Fall

It’s no secret that darks are always on trend for fall, but this year, burgundy has emerged as a favorite in the fashion world. Burgundy is the color for fall; it’s rich, beautiful, and sophisticated.

This is one color you might want to add to your fall wardrobe whether you add a sweater, jacket, nail color, handbag, or shoes. I have already styled several burgundy pieces this fall.

Have you added any burgundy to your fall wardrobe?

I’m so honored that you have taken time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and my favorite one, Instagram.

Beauty for the Heart~~Just like the four seasons come and go, so will different seasons of life come and go. Don’t despair! “This too shall pass.” is true in both sweet and bitter seasons of life.

While you don’t need to wish any of it away, remember to savor the sweet seasons, take the joy when it comes and stay faithful during the bitter seasons.

Worship in the good times and bad. Jesus will be faithful over and over and over again. It’s in the valleys that God develops your character. -Beth Moore

Life is full of seasons. Some are joyous, and some are difficult. Whatever season you’re in, Nehemiah 8:10 is a good verse to remember, The Joy of the Lord is your Strength.

We are never in a season without Jesus.

Have a blessed day!

  1. I love your style. Can you tell me how you tied the scarf you are wearing with the denim shirt. I ordered it from Target and mine is huge. Did you cut it down or was there a smaller size available. Thanks

  2. Love the color! After seeing your post from last week, I bought the gather sign!!! Thank you for the inspiration!

  3. Yes!! I love the burgundy too! I have at least 2 or 3 options in my closet right now, but I sure like that turtleneck sweater. And I really like the denim and burgundy combo!
Your dining room is looking fantastic already!!! I will have to go back and look at where you said how to determine the size of the chandelier. I am going to replace the one that came in our house.
So much fun!! Have a lovely week!

    1. Hi Joni~ If you click the link for the chandelier in Cyndi’s post, Wayfair has a video that explains how to choose the right size chandelier. Hope that’s helpful 😉

  4. Hi Cyndi,
I don’t really know how I was so blessed to find you! I think my Google on my phone did it as I often search for clothes online. I feel so lucky to have discovered a woman with the same tastes and modesty. You have helped me tremendously even though I am quite a bit taller, 5’10.5″! Just wondering what your choices are in sleepwear. Saw you had on a cute pajama top when you were featuring your skincare line. Please let us know about some pretty and comfortable sleepwear you like. Best Wishes, Anne in Lafayette, LA

  5. Hi Cyndi,

Your dining room is beautiful so far. I love your color palette. I have bought several burgundy pieces lately and also received a Stitchfix box yesterday with several burgundy pieces in it as well. Happy Fall!!

  6. I am so impressed with you having the dining room painted!! And I like your color selection. Don’t forget to show your fans the room when it is finished 😊. I know it will be beautiful.

  7. Good job on your decorating choices for the dining room. Great color selection for fall, so on trend. The BFTH posting is what took my breath. God is so good and you sharing your faith is awesome. The current trend of style and fashion will continue to evolve, but God’s word and His love will never change. Thank you for this reminder.

  8. Burgundy is one of my favorites too. We haven’t had much cool weather, until this week, and I can’t wait to pull out some long-sleeved stuff!

Your dining room looks beautiful. Can’t wait to see the finished product!!

  9. I love all of this burgundy, Cyndi! I’ll take one of everything. Your dining room is looking good! I really like the darker ceiling with the dove white walls. It’s understated elegance! I enjoy seeing your home dilemmas and decorating info.

  10. Yep – I love burgundy! I have a sweater dress, dress pants, and a couple of shirts for work in burgundy. I love it paired with Olive and navy for fall and pink for spring. 🙂

  11. Burgundy is my favorite color. I just bought a new Burgundy Fall jacket and I got my nails done in burgundy and jewels. Burgundy Rocks!!!!

  12. I just a got Burgundy Top and dark olive pants. I already have a few burgundy pieces. The dining room looks great cant wait to see the furniture on Thursday

  13. I have a daily morning routine to check on the news, my schedule, my family, friends and read my devotions. But, I enjoy your fashion, your photos, and your wisdom so much, I read your posts last, just like dessert after a meal! Thank you, ma’am. God Bless You, Cyndi Spivey.

  14. Cyndi, burgundy is a great color on you! Love the styles you showed us. I bought a mustard sweater and think it will look great with burgundy pants or jeans, blouse, and boots too.
Cyndi, could you tell me please what size rug you ordered and also I would love to know if the chandelier gives enough light in the room? It is gorgeous! TIA

  15. I LOVE the chandaliar….would like to know if you feel it gives off enough light AT NIGHT. Hard to tell with the small bulbs.

  16. I have added several burgundy pieces to the ones I already had. I absolutely love this color! I also carry it into winter. Thank you Cyndi!

  17. I love all the burgundy, cranberry, etc. colors. Fall/Winter can get blah color wise and I always feel better with a little color. Great job!

  18. True words, Cyndi! I’ve been known to tell God I thought I had all the character I needed😀😉
I recently bought a burgundy print dress and a burgundy cardigan. Hoping for cooler temps soon, so I can wear that cardigan.
    Love your dining room!

  19. I LOVE all shades of this color! So flattering on everyone. I am also loving mustard this year, especially mixed with burgundy or gray. I have been gradually going darker with my hair color, and find that I can finally wear certain shades of mustard that were unflattering in the past. Thank you for all of the burgundy suggestions and for the daily spiritual inspiration!

  20. I can honestly say I don’t think I have much in this color… A skirt, top and pumps but not pieces I would wear a lot. I think you’ve inspired me to at least get an everyday top or sweater.. such a pretty color:)… I am also eyeing that Gather sign… I am probably going to order it… love how your dining room is coming together.

  21. Great looks! Question – I have those taupe Vince Camuto booties. How do you keep them clean? They seem to get dirty very easily and I’m trying to figure out a safe way to clean them. Thanks for always being a wonderful and beautiful inspiration! xo-Nicole

  22. Burgundy (maroon, wine, cranberry, etc) is one of my favorite fall and winter colors and it’s very flattering to your skin and hair tones.

  23. I love the deep burgundy color and love the different ways you’ve styled it. Going to head back to Target today to see if I can find the burgundy corduroy pants and the scarf. I bought the denim shirt last week and love it.

Thanks for your BFTH today. A great reminder to stay faithful at all times.

  24. I am going through the various seasons in my life and you are so right! Nehemiah 8;10 – the joy of the Lord is definitely my strength. Thank you for sharing that today!

I, too have added cranberry as my color crush for the fall. I realized a lot of what I have recently purchased is the rich cranberry color – shoes, boots, sweater, turtleneck, scarf, pants that have hints of this color. It’s just a fun color that makes me smile!
