Colorblock Sweater Dress Under $40

Happy Monday ladies! It’s 20 Days of Winter Fashion, and today I have a colorblock sweater dress from New York & Company. I wore this dress to church, but I think this would be a great workwear dress.

Colorblock Sweater DressColorblock Sweater DressI added these earrings from Baublebar. They have the tortoise acrylic, and a touch of shimmer, that’s perfect for the winter season.

Colorblock Sweater DressI know I’ve talked about these boots several times but hands down they’re my favorite pair of boots I own. I purchased them during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. If you want a less expensive option, try these from Target.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and my favorite one, Instagram.

Be sure to visit Jo-Lynne and see the winter outfit she’s styling today!

Beauty For The Heart~~One of the hardest things for me is to let go of control. I still sometimes think I can control the situations in my life.

I’m learning to let go, but it’s a process. Thankfully, I know Jesus is patient with me. This poem was in a Bible study I taught several years ago, and it’s a good reminder to let go!

I am not in control.
I cannot control my people.
I cannot control our situation.
Even when I want what is best, I cannot control the outcome.

I cannot make people behave.
I cannot make people believe.
I cannot make people be strong.
Because I am not God.

God alone knows the end from the beginning.
God alone knows how this will turn out.

I hereby fire myself from God’s job.
And I agree to see my fight for control as what it is:
A screaming testament to my distrust. -Beth Moore

Maybe you need to let go of a situation that you are trying to control. Let go and let God!

Have a blessed day!

  1. Love the boots!! Wish I could wear a 3-3/4 inch heel for more than 15 minutes. Wish shoe manufacturers would have lower heeled options, sigh…

  2. Beautiful dress at a good price! Love that the designer color blocked with lightest color at shoulders and darkest through the hips! Is small your True size on their site or did you need to size up? And…those nerf bullets? – LOL – I find them for days after the grandson is here!

    1. Laura, I’m not a huge fan of necklaces on me. Long necklaces lengthen and slim the upper body and I am already thin in that area. I do like necklaces when I wear a v-neck top and I sometimes wear long necklaces. I prefer my statement piece to be earrings.

  3. Thanks for the recommendation on the teddy bear coat from Target. I gave my daughter and early Christmas present and its a huge hit.

  4. love the dress and todays Beauty For The Heart made me think of something my niece and I was talking about Saturday at my husbands birthday party

  5. I check in daily to see what great outfits you have put together, but it was today’s BFTH that made me comment…..wow, a testament to distrust? Could it be, God? Forgive me! Thank you, Cindy, for the reminder about my propensity to want control and the need to “fire myself” from that job! Appreciate you, your heart and love for Jesus (and cute fashion while doing so!).

  6. That dress is adorable on you! And from NY & Co? I will have to check in there more often. Perfect BFTH today. Very timely in my life right now! I only just now read Sunday’s post and I have a feeling that many of us think that you woke up that night for us!

  7. Cute outfit! Love the dress and I may try it in the grey. Thank you for today’s BFTH. I keep that same poem in my Bible and it serves as an important reminder each time I read it!

  8. At first glance I thought it was a skirt and knit top but it’s a dress. Lovely! I like the three colours ending with the darker on bottom where a lot of us ladies carry a little extra weight. It would be perfect for the office, church or meeting friends for lunch.

  9. Love the dress and love the color blocking. I may have to check out this coat. Looking beautiful as always. Thanks for the control reminder that’s me and yes always a work in progress . My husband told me awhile ago stop worrying about the things you have no control over. Pretty much sums it up.

  10. I have loved everything you are styling lately! Those boots are just awesome! They will go with just about anything. One question: how do you clean them? I have tan suede booties, and they seem to get scuffed up so easily.

  11. Super cute dress! I like the cream color being near the face. One question- does it stretch out on the backside? That’s been my issue with sweater dresses in the past.
Your coat is pretty too. I love that caramel color.
Thank you for BFTH today. Control is a monster for me.

  12. This dress looks wonderful on you. The colors are great, I especially like that your hair is dark brown and the dress is dark brown at the bottom. You could probably put some leopard print with this dress, like a soft silk scarf around the neck. It’s just darling. Thanks so much for this poem written by Beth Moore. I need to read it everyday! We can be in control of our prayer for others and ourselves. Perhaps others will see Christ in us by the way we live our lives for God’s glory.

  13. Hi Cyndi,
The dress looks so cute on you! My tummy isn’t flat enough for sweater dresses, but I do love the way they look.
In other news, I have all boys and the youngest is 16. I still find NERF darts everywhere. ☺️ Those darts manage to slip into some odd places 😂

  14. That dress looks so nice on you! I too am a work in progress of letting go of control. I needed to read Beth’s poem right now. Be Blessed today!

  15. Love your dress & boots! Thx for sharing Jonathan’s video yesterday. It was great to see his entire family in it 😊
