How to Wear a Gray Tunic + Black Leggings 4 Ways

Happy Tuesday! Today I’m sharing a gray tunic and black leggings I recently purchased from Amazon. I’ve been living in leggings lately since I work from home and they’re super comfy.

The leggings are high waist with some tummy control. They’re under $30, and they come in a lot of different colors.

The gray tunic is only $13.99 in the gray color, but it comes in more pretty colors. I usually wear an XS in a tunic but I sized up to a small, and it fits good. If you’re in between sizes, I would size up.

I styled the first outfit with my infinity scarf and low heeled boots. The boots I’m wearing are no longer available, but I did find these on Amazon that looks cute.

Next up I styled the gray tunic and black leggings with booties from Target. I added an anorak jacket and my scarf.

This is a casual and fun look. I can’t wear this outside if it’s really cold because my ankles would freeze, but when the weather warms up, this is a great look.

Last, I added a leopard print scarf with my riding boots. This is a good way to wear the gray tunic and black leggings in cold weather.

  1. Super cute styling ideas and this post is right up my alley as I am trying to buy less this year and wear what I have in different ways! I would love to see more posts like this in the future!

  2. Thank you for your Beauty From The Heart message, it is exactly what I needed to hear, and I will be sharing it as well.

  3. Cute ideas! I like what you did with the leopard scarf and riding boots. I can’t wear browns around my face, but this looks so pulled together–I can replicate it a color that would work for me. Thanks, Cyndi, for your hard work! I like posts like this. 🙂

  4. Great ideas! I have a grey tunic so now I can have more ideas how to wear it. It’s nice that you are giving us some great ideas. I run out of ideas trying to figure out what looks well together.

We need more of those recipes! On a diet too! I will try the steak bites and the spiral zucchini. Looks fantastic!

    Thanks Cyndy

  5. Thank you for another fun post! I like the leopard scarf
and brown boots the best and now I want tacos!!!!
    Have a blessed evening!!

  6. I am a newby to your blog and I love seeing what you have to show us every day. You have lifted my spirits more than once with your BFTH. Today was special to me because I have had a tough day. Thank you so much for your encouraging words each day. You have truly been s blessing!

  7. A series called ‘Sundays with Cyndi’? That would be awesome! Thanks for sharing your menus from last Sunday and this coming week. I’m enjoying these posts where you show multiple ways to wear one or two pieces – another blue ribbon one today! The price-point on these two pieces makes it even better; two simple basics taken up a notch. And the Beauty from the Heart tips…icing on the cake!

  8. I love when you show how to wear some items several ways, and at the end show them side by side. My fav is the leopard scarf and boots!

  9. All cute ideas. I would never have put a couple of those combos together, but you definitely rocked it! Thanks!

  10. I love your BFTHs as much as your fashion photos, tips and suggestions. Today’s BFTH was especially meaningful to me as my husband and I are dealing with a difficult situation in our family. Thanks you for sharing God’s word with us also..

  11. I only wear leggings with tall boots and a tunic so my favourite is the last one. The tunic looks comfy & cozy.

  12. Hi Cyndi! Love the length of the tunic! I am only comfortable in leggings if I have a super long top! The washing instructions for the tunic say to hand wash and line dry. Is that what you do?

  13. Cyndi,
These are my favorite posts! Great job and thank you for all the ideas on how to stretch our wardrobe!
May I ask what your nail color is??
    Have a blessed day!

  14. Love this! I have a few 90 deg items and swear by the brand. Time to try the leggings. Question: the reviews in the tunic were mixed when it came to sizing, and they size chart is very different. Size 8 is a Large. If I size up like many reviewers suggested, I’d get an XP. Yet a few comments said the XL WAS Huge. I’m confused what size to order as an 9/10. Can you help?

  15. Thanks Cyndi – I love the leopard scarf look and never would have thought to pair it with Grey – Thanks for the inspiration!

  16. love this kind of post! Gives a new outlook on outfits. Would of never styled brown boots with a black leggins and grey top but love it! Thanks for helping me think out of box. Recipe sound yummy too!!!

  17. I love these posts… so nice to be able to multi wear our pieces. What leg exercises do you do? I buy 90 degrees brand in leggings and they wear well:) my favorites are the leopard print with riding boots ( do your boots bag at the ankle?)and converse pics… but like the all.
    Blessings

  18. Awesome ideas for the basics! I love all 4 of them!

Sunday lunches… oh we usually go out to eat on Sundays, occasionally we will invite some friends along. My husband is not a people person, so there’s only a handful of people he is cool with having lunch or dinner with… or have over to the house for that matter!! LOL

Thanks a bunch for these wear different ways posts!!

  19. Love, love, love this post. I live in a grey tunic (that needs replacing) and black leggings. I have these leggings and the brand is very good for the price. But I will be ordering the tunic. I think my favorite is with the riding boots and scare, and with the green jacket and I would have never thought of these two combinations. Such simple pieces but so many ways to wear them. Thanks 😀

  20. I have most of these pieces and now can recreate a few outfits I never thought of- especially the leopard scarf! I love that idea! And the difference shoes really change the look of the outfit. Thanks!

  21. Gotta love black leggings! and if I worked from home that would be my daily outfit – LOL. I’m loving these multiple ways posts!!! I’m always afraid to order things online for multiple reasons, and most recently bc things get lost in the mail – ugh! Do you have any problems with that? Also, are some of the Amazon items only available to “Prime” members? Just curious…

  22. I would love for you to style a long denim shirt (like an almost dress for us older ladies) three ways. Thanks!

  23. This is a great post and I really like how you put all 4 photos together side by side at the end. It really allows us to see the variation easier than scrolling through the post. Similar to this I just suggested to Jo-Lynne a post on the same outfit but you only change the shoes. I seem to have the most mental blocks when it comes to shoes. Or even what shoes would be the best to buy. Do I wear tall boots and if so, how does black, brown or taupe look with the same outfit or what happens when I go to booties? So I hope you keep doing things similar to this.

  24. I love your style! How tall are you? I am 5’1” and I have trouble finding leggings… usually they are too long and bunch up. They look like they are shorter lengths in your pictures.

    1. Hi Anne
I’m 5,1 as well and I can usually find crop leggings that work well or some that say 7/8 ankle length seem to fit just right.

    2. I’m 5’3 and have the same issue. I buy 90 degree brand because the length is usually perfect. I often look for ankle length too:)

    3. I am also 5’1″ and live in leggings at home. My go-to are the 7/8 length from Old Navy. They’re the perfect long length for me and come in different fabric content depending if you want compression or not. I choose the yoga ones with no compression since I wear them to be comfortable.
