9 Styles of Shoes | One Outfit

Happy Monday ladies! Today I’m sharing 9 styles of shoes with one outfit. I often get asked how I pick out the shoes with the outfit I’m wearing.

It usually depends on the weather, where I’m going, and what I’m in the mood for on that particular day.

Shoes are my FAVORITE accessory, and I love adding different styles to my outfits.

I personally love wearing a heel whether it’s on a boot or a shoe, but flats are very stylish, so you don’t have to wear heels to be on trend.

Here are some of my favorite shoes that I wear often:

1. Riding Boot | These are great for this time of year, and I wear them all the time.

2. Leopard Booties | I’m a huge fan of leopard. When I want to add something fun to my outfit, these are my go-to pair.

6. Nude Heel | I love nude heels, and I wear these when I want to dress up a bit. They can be worn with jeans, dress pants, and dresses.

9. Tan Over the Knee Boot | I have had these for several years so they are no longer available. But it’s great to have an over the knee boot in your wardrobe.

  1. Cindy your posts in the New Yesr are really calling out to me! I love this – fun to see how the look of the same outfit changes just by wearing a different type of shoe!! I think I might need a pair of camo shoes now!!! Thanks for this post!

  2. Loved this post, thank you!
I have two questions. I recently tried the tarte shape tape for my very dark under eye area, but it seemed cakey and enhanced the lines under my eyes. How do you apply it, and do you use other products along with it? Also, do you take anything to keep your bones strong and healthy?

    1. Angela I have heard that it can be drying. I use Colleen Rothschild eye serum before I put it on and I have no problems. I think you need a good eye cream underneath the product. I don’t take anything at this time for my bones.

  3. Since you love shoes, do you pick your shoes first when building your outfit? This post was great- it really showcases how the look of an outfit can change with just a pair of shoes.

  4. I look forward to seeing your post each morning. My question to you is I would like to incorporate your outfit ideas into my work wardrobe, however, we are not allowed to wear jeans 🙁 What suggestions do you have for business casual ideas? Thanks for all your inspiration!

  5. I have a question for your question and answer segment. How many days a week do you exercise and what time of day or do you just fit it in when you can? Do you know how to build muscle tone without loosing weight? Love your shoes you posted. I have several versions but need to get leopard but I have a problem with thinking they only work in the Fall. I don’t like for Spring and Summer and my feet get too cold in the Winter. I really like the leopard flats you styled? Do you wear your normal size? I’ve never ordered from Sole Society.

  6. I am interested in starting a fashion blog. I love fashion and have followed you and a few other bloggers for a few years and would like to try it. Love the healthy lifestyle you encourage and all the inspiration. Thank you for such a great blog.

  7. I definitely need help with shoes. I feel like my jeans are not long enough to wear with heels. Could you offer advice on how to buy jeans to wear with different shoes? Also do you ever style boot leg jeans or jeans that don’t taper? I would like a dressier Jean look.

  8. This post was amazing! I love shoes and seeing so many different styles with one outfit was helpful. I tend to wear the same shoes with the same outfit every time. Now I know that I don’t have to be limited. Thank you!

  9. Cyndi, I LOVED this post! Shoes are the real key to whether an outfit looks dressy or casual, or trendy or outdated!
You can take a pair of jeans from day to evening by just changing your shoes!
Thanks a bunch for accommodating your readers!

  10. I think I like the riding boot the best with that outfit, although the other short boots would have looked fine, too.

  11. One of my favorite posts you’ve done! Love seeing how the same outfit can look so amazing with 9 different shoe options! Love them all!!! Thank you for sharing! Hey

  12. Enjoy your posts everyday! Love your sweet spirit and that you also share your love for the Lord with us!

Could you show us some outfit ideas for traveling, specifically what to wear on an airplane and maybe outfit mix and match to keep the suitcase light?

  13. I’m interested in your exercise routine. I am a treadmill speed walker and 51 (that’s what I call myself other people say I run). It’s how I lost 30 pounds two years ago. I love your blog as it has helped me gain confidence to wear different outfits than what I was comfortable at 30 pounds heavier (if that makes sense). Plus with my age I don’t want to look like I’m 51 trying to look 30. So appreciate your ideas! Bless you!

  14. What a great idea for a post. It’s a great way to highlight different shoes and show how they really do change the outfit.
Sadly, my problem feet can’t wear a lot of cute shoes, but there are cute styles out there, like at Walking Company, for even problem feet nowadays.

I’m very interested to hear about your appointment. I’m about your age and have wondered about different options!

  15. I love pretty shoes but unfortunately don’t have many as I can not find my size…AA (narrow). Can’t afford $150 a pair, so this makes shopping nearly impossible. I live near a major city but still have to order online as even major store don’t carry narrow sizes. Any suggestions?? Thank you.

  16. I’ve written this before, but needs repeating, …thank you for posting a dual purpose post! These are my favorite posts, when an item (in this case one outfit) is shown worn in numerous ways (how different it looks worn with different shoe styles). These types of posts inspire me the most, as I have a tendency to fall into wearing an outfit one way, over and over. The funny thing is, when I change up a ‘same outfit’ with a vest or different shoes, etc. (one small change) all of the sudden, people who never said anything before, will ask if I’m wearing a new outfit or lost weight, etc. They notice a difference but can’t put their finger on it.

  17. Hi Cyndi,
I was wondering if you could share in a post about what you would wear to travel on airplane and what would you use to travel with on the plane. I usually travel from coast to coast so that is about a 6 hour plane ride and I like to be comfortable but also look nice. Are there any travel bags or totes that you have used that you like? Thanks and Happy New Year

  18. Here’s my question: Can you share about your leaving ministry story? My husband and I have left full-time and part time ministry. It would be helpful to hear how someone else deals with the pain, questions, and healing of this situation.

  19. Love to tuck jeans in high boots – a must have in our cold weather. However, I’ve yet found jeans that don’t bunch up around the knees in tall boots. Looks terrible. Anyone out there have the same problem?

    1. You can use oversize rubber bands over the ankle area of your jeans to help keep them down. I’ve seen straps that clip on to the each side of the hem of a pair of jeans and wrap under the foot to keep pants in place, also.

    2. Yes it happens to me too. Even wearing skinny leg. I think the only ones that won’t are the jeggings and I find them a little to snug depending on the denim.

      1. Ladies, I have found the answer to the pants tucked into boots dilemma! Jodhpur clips! They are at the clips that horseback riders use to keep their trousers in their boots. You can order them online. You may have to cuff the bottom of your jeans to accommodate the clips, but they work like a charm

  20. Thanks for this post! I loved seeing all of the variations of shoes that you paired with the same outfit, and how different the vibe became with just that one accessory change.

My favorite shoes the last few days have been tall boots, because we have several inches of snow on the ground.

  21. I love this post as shoes are also my favorite accessory! Love the green sweater too. Interesting about the appointment that you have today… I have those frown lines between my eyebrows that bothers me and I’ve considered looking into doing something like this…
And oh stories of GRACE! Yes, please…. every. time.

    Blessings!!

  22. How do you store your shoes? Original box, clear containers or on shelves? I find that if I store my out of season shoes, I forget about them. Out of sight out of mind syndrome. LOL

    1. I learned this on a Martha Stewart show many years ago, I can’t take the credit. Store shoes in either a plastic shoe box or the cardboard one it comes in. Take a photo of the pair of shoes on a blank surface, then print the photo(s) and tape onto the outside of the box. I have many pairs of shoes, as purses and shoes tend to stay the same size on me 😉 In my closet, I have built in shelves that hold the boxes of my shoes and each box has a photo of what is inside. I also organize them by style (sandals, loafers, sneakers, etc) and where I can, by color of the same style category. Hope that gives you some ideas.

  23. This time of year, it is a bootie. I just bought a pair of navy suede. There is a lot of options in navy this year, which is usually hard to find, I live a relaxed lifestyle and am tall, so my go to footwear is a low heel.
I’ve been thinking about getting some injections. The thing that holds me back is it lasts such a short period of time 2 – 4 months. If I’m going through the discomfort I want a longer term result.I know you’ll give an honest review and I will make my decision on that.

  24. Will be interested in what they do at your spa appointment and how you like it.
My question is regarding FWTFL. Why have you continued to enroll in this plan on going? Do you get all the assistance you need in the first 6 week plan? I’m enrolled in my first 6 weeks of the plan and it is working. Losing weight and seeing great body toning but hoping by end of 6 weeks I have the tools I need without having to enroll in another session. Is that realistic?

  25. In the winter my go to shoes are my booties! I just picked up a great caramel colored pair and have a olive and black pair as well. I have been looking at some snakeskin ones with a higher shaft for something a bit dressier.

  26. So many shoes so little time! Lol. I’m with you – I love shoes! But I don’t ever think of wearing different ones with the same outfit. Great idea as it changes the look of the outfit with no effort.

    Have a blessed day!

  27. Thanks for another inspiring post! My questions is about your suede shoes and boots: How do you care for your suede?

  28. Loved this! I am such a shoe girl and this was great inspiration for changing up outfits.
    You’re awesome Cyndi

  29. Oh boy! I’m excited to hear about that appointment and I would LOVE if someone offered me some free Dysport or Restylane because it’s expensive, but I do fit it in my budget :-).
As for the shoes – thanks for such an informative post. I too wear a variety based on the same reasons you gave for choosing yours. I tend to wear at least a 2″ heel most days since being 5′-2″ I need all the help in that area. Flats make me feel “dumpy”, that being said, I do love my black nike’s on the weekend.

  30. Do you ever feel like you have way too many clothes, shoes, accessories? I guess it’s a little different for a blogger since that is your livelihood. But for the average woman, how do you keep a “happy medium” and not get carried away? By the way, I really enjoy your blog. I’ve purchased several items that you’ve shown us!

    1. I get rid of them every few months so I don’t typically have a lot of extras. I have heard a lot of people say when they buy an item they remove an item so that way they don’t have more than they need.

  31. Hi Cyndi! I’m sure that you have checked out the doctor and the facility that you are going to. I like how different shoes can change the overall look of an outfit. Have a blessed day!

  32. I have most of those shoe choices, similar sweater and jeans. Thanks for new ideas that I would not have really envisioned! You look great!!
I have a question about belting things. I have a couple of tops (a tunic sweater and a long, flowy blouse) that just seem too voluminous, and my instinct is to try belting them. But then I wonder if that’s just totally out of style. On the other hand, we seem to be blessed to live in a time where it seems like almost anything goes. What do you think about belting oversized tops these days?

  33. Love the latest things you’ve been posting! I just received the knot in the front 3/4 length sleeve Gibson top and I love it! I may need to order more colors now. These shoes give me so many ideas for my wardrobe. Keep it up Cyndi! Thanks.

  34. Oh I love this it helps take the guess work out lol… I’m a sneaker shoe and flats plus booties.. however it’s been so cold here lately it’s been uggs or riding boots. You really do need a variety depending on where you live. Love that sweater too:)
Have a great day and good luck with that appointment. Sounds mysterious 😉

  35. I love this post and all the cute shoes! Thank you for sharing. My question today is what Bible study are you curreny teaching?
