Our Wounds Are A Story God Will Use

This past week I heard a song, and I immediately knew I wanted to share it. The song is called Scars, and the first few verses say,

Waking up to a new sunrise
Looking back from the other side
I can see now with open eyes

Darkest water and deepest pain
I wouldn’t trade it for anything
‘Cause my brokenness brought me to you
And these wounds are a story you’ll use

So I’m thankful for the scars
‘Cause without them I wouldn’t know your heart
And I know they’ll always tell of who you are
So forever I am thankful for the scars

Our wounds are a story that God will use. I’m so thankful to know that the pain I have gone through was not in vain.

We don’t have to know the plan to trust there is a plan.
We don’t have to feel good to trust there is good coming
We don’t have to see evidence of changes to trust that it won’t always be this hard.
We just have to close our physical eyes and turn our thoughts to Jesus.
Fix out thoughts on Him. -Lysa Terkuerst

Here are some scriptures verses about suffering:

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 2 Corinthians 4:17

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. James 1:12

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5:3-4

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. Romans 8:18

If you are in the midst of a difficult season, I hope you know that this too shall pass.

Keep seeking Him!

  12. Thank you. I’m trying to keep the faith but after 32 yrs of migraines and trying everything but nothing works well for long etc etc. I’m at the point of what do I do? I hear many people say…. this too shall pass and it hasn’t. God has been faithful in it but I’m so tired and discouraged. Missing so much life and affects my family too. :(. Thanks for all the good verses to remind me someday it won’t be like this.

    1. Buy a booked called Cure -81 Natural Cures & you may be able to find relief for your headaches. I am getting some help with my preDiabetic diagnosis. I just read about Mugraines so it could help you. Paperback is about $18.00. Written by an MD. Hope this can take your pain away. J

    2. Kathy,
I am 56 an have suffered with migraines since I was fifteen. Several years ago I even suffered a migraine induced stroke. I was wondering if you have tried Botox, Spheno Cath, or Allevio. Praying for you.

    3. Hi Kathy. I also suffered with migraines from my teens until I hit menopause. Don’t know if you are there yet but if not, perhaps that will help you. The last 7 years prior I was fortunate to find a doctor who worked with me with different meds until we found a combination that worked for good. I know that horrible pain but I’m here to tell you that it will get better.

    4. Hi Kathy,

I’m 51 and have had migraines since I was about 13. I’ve found ways to manage them. As mine are hereditary. I would be happy to talk with you as I truly know your suffering. Have a beautiful day.

  13. Your Sunday posts are a really special part of my time set aside to worship, meditate and pray… so thankful for your faithfulness in sharing the things that God puts in your heart.

  14. Loved loved loved this song! I’ve never heard it before but we all have a story. Some have more chapters than others but no matter how deep or small your scars are, this song really reminds us of the hope and life and forgiveness through Jesus Christ ✝️ Thank you for sharing sweet sister and I too will share on my social media. Have a blessed day Cyndi and all my sisters who read this! ❣️

  15. Thank you, Cyndi, for sharing your thoughts, this song, and God’s Word. They were all perfect timing for me to share them with my precious sister who is struggling with a recurrence of cancer right now. I’m hoping they bring her comfort.

  16. I love this today! If we stop and really think about it our suffering is but a nanosecond – not even that – to the eternity we will enjoy with our Savior!

    Praise His Holy name!

  17. Thank you Cyndi for shining God’s light and hope and love. I desperately needed to hear this message today. 💜
