Hello Friday! It’s been a busy but good week and I’m ready to enjoy Mother’s Day weekend. We have several family get-togethers planned so it should be fun.
Today I’m teaming up with Nordstrom and styling 2 trends for summer that I have seen everywhere! Also, to remind you, Nordstrom Double Points is ON!
Now through Sunday, May 12, Nordstrom credit cardmembers will earn 6 points per dollar, debit cardmembers will earn 4 points, and Nordy Club members will earn 2 points on purchases made in stores or online at Nordstrom.
Okay, you know I love a cute trend, and I personally think both of these are super cute!
First up, I’m styling the paperbag high waist shorts from Nordstrom. After I styled these, I felt like they were a little short, but there are plenty of paperbag shorts that are longer.
While these are a little short, they are really comfortable shorts!
I paired the shorts with a floral camisole. It’s the prettiest camisole with scalloped detail on the neckline. (I am wearing this strapless bra.)
While I styled it with shorts, it would also look great under a cardigan for a workwear outfit.
Here is a picture of the back of the camisole.
My Madewell sandals are the perfect sandal for shorts.

The second trend you’ll see this summer is the high-low maxi dresses. I love these dresses!
The high-low maxi dress is high in the front like a regular dress and low in the back like a maxi. It gives you coverage but still allows for a bit of leg.
I added the waterfall chandelier earrings and paired it with a small pendant necklace.
I styled this maxi dress with a white clutch. This clutch will go with all my summer outfits. Perfect for carrying to church!
My heels are Sam Edelman, and I have had them for several years. I love wearing them with my summer dresses.

What trends do you see for summer?
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on Facebook, Pinterest, and, Instagram.
Beauty For the Heart~~While you complain about your electric bill, there’s someone with no home. While you complain about your job, there’s someone praying for a dollar. While you complain about the food in your pantry, there’s someone praying for crumbs. While you complain about life, there’s someone who didn’t wake up today. Your complaints are simply blessings to others. Be grateful and thank God every day. -Victory Today

You were carrying a wonderful bag this morning to church. I have been looking for bag just like that one. ‘If you Would please share the brand, i would greatly appreciate.

Hi Tina, this is the bag I was carrying https://shopstyle.it/l/3eYF, in the linen color.
Love the dress – it’s beautiful and so summery! The shorts, hmm… not so much. Cyndi, you could wear a paperbag and look lovely, but the rest of us 50+ i just don’t find them flattering at all. That being said, all fashion is not for everyone.
Wishing you a very blessed and Happy Mother’s Day!
Love the dress! Happy Mother’s Day!
What a beautiful dress:) looks gorgeous on you. I can see myself wearing this for sure… love your BFTH. Enjoy your weekend 😀
Eliza J makes a beautiful high/low maxi dress. They really fit well! I just bought an Eliza J yellow floral halter neckline and I love it!
You uplift me daily with the scripture you include and the additional words. Today’ s reminders of how our complaints are someone else’s needs! Thank you. I couldn’t close without mentioning how much I look forward to what you are styling each day too. Happy Mother’s Day.
Thank you so much Doreen!
You look gorgeous in the dress. Those are your colors!!
That dress is WOW! You look amazing!
Happy Mother’s Day weekend! I hope you enjoy every minute of it.
That dress is fantastic and the color is beautiful- red and bright pink are for sure your colors.
BFTH today is spot on.
That dress is gorgeous!! And I agree with Mary that it looks beautiful on you AND the shorts do not work on most bodies. I feel like they make me look so wide. Thanks for the lovely quote today, so very true
Your blog is the first one that I have actually followed. I enjoy viewing your fashion ideas. My mother passed away a couple months ago and she was quite the Fashionista. I miss discussing fashion with her and your blog has been helpful in that respect. . This will be my first Mother’s Day Without a mother. I want to thank you for your you’re comments of faith in Jesus.
Janice I am so sorry. The firsts are always the most difficult. Praying for you on this Mother’s Day.
This dress looks beautiful on you! I wish I had some place to wear it!!!
Love that red dress! One of my favorite dresses you’ve posted lately! Red is such a good color for you!
The dress is beautiful on you! I am going to leave the paperbag shorts to the younger crowd. I feel you have to be a twig for a tie baggy waist like they have.
Loved the high low dress today but really reaching out to say how much I loved your “Beauty of the Day” quote. Such a wonderful reminder to enjoy each and every day and remember the little things you are blessed with!! H
Happy Mother’s Day Cyndi. I too lost my mom and Mother’s Day has never been the same. I have wonderful children who always make the day special but it isn’t quite the same. To those who are lucky enough to still have your mama, hug her tight and tell her you love her. I miss mine every day.
Love both trends, but will definitely be investing in the shorts – a little longer for me though too! 🙂
I love the dress. Wish I had some where to wear it.
Love the dress. It looks so good on you.
BFTH so appropriate. We are so blessed. Thanks for reminding us of the less fortunate. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
You look wonderful in that orange color.
I just love both, Cyndi! That dress is very flattering on you! (But then, what isn’t!) And I’m loving that new short trend! Happy Mother’s Day, beautiful lady!
