Blue and White Fashion for Summer

Welcome to Day 2 of 25 Days of Summer Fashion with Jo-Lynne Shane! I’m so glad you stopped by! If you happen to be new around here, I’m Cyndi, and I love fashion and beauty. Because I’m well past 40, I gear all my tips and styles for women over 40. But you won’t find it to be frumpy, I think fashion should be fun, and we have fun around here!

Most importantly, I am passionate about my relationship with Jesus. I have lived long enough to experience life. All of life, the joys, but also the hurts. Life is a journey with ups and downs, and I don’t want to do this life without Jesus. He is my rock. I share my thoughts and my journey with Jesus in every post with a short devotion below in the Beauty for the Heart section. So if that interests you, please check that area out.

Let’s get to today’s outfit. I realize I have a thing for blue and white fashion for summer. I recently styled this outfit that’s also blue and white. I think these colors say summer to me. And I say bring on summer!

Blue and White Fashion for Summer

I have shared some of my thoughts on Amazon fashion. It is a hit or miss with me, and while I love the prices, I don’t always love the quality of the clothes. At this stage in my life, I like quality and I admit it. I did find this striped blouse on Amazon, and it’s a good option. It’s under $20, but it feels more expensive. It’s polyester so it should wash well and not wrinkle.

I found these white chino shorts at JCPenney. They have a 5-inch inseam, which is my favorite length. I think they run slightly big so I would size down if you are in between sizes.

The back of the blouse has a bow which is a cute detail, and I love the flutter sleeves.

My earrings are from JCrew, and I think a cute addition to so many of my summer outfits. I’m also wearing a couple of bracelets from EVEREVE.

I really like blue and white, but what is your favorite summer colors?

Make sure you head over and see what Jo-Lynne is styling today for our summer fashion series.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and, Instagram.

Beauty for the Heart~~“Be STILL, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10

The Hebrew word for STILL is raphah, and it means to let go. God is imploring us to let go and let Him be God, let Him have control. That is hard for us because we think we can handle it. But truthfully, we can’t.

So, what are you holding on to today?  A financial burden that is causing you to lose sleep, a secret sin that you know is going to catch up with you, a child that is not living the way you think they should, a marriage that is rocky? What is it that you need to surrender, to let go right now and give it to God?

Have a blessed day!

  1. I found your post today so funny. I am 57 and my daughter is 26. She will tell me to literally walk away from the blue and white striped anything…MOM you have that…………. Its my go to….love it…and of course love your bible inspirations……..Thank you always. Maria

  2. Cute top. If I needed to add to my collection this would be a contender. Thanks for the BFTH it’s so hard to just hand everything over 100% when our nature teaches us to hold on and worry… but God makes it super easy to do. I’m working on this 😀

  3. i am always curious about different things but it seems questions imply criticism. Please know that whe iask a question it is genuine curiosity or you might call it nosey..?? Since it is not always comfortable to change clothing in your car, what is the rule that says your photos must be outdoors ? It is amazing that your photos can look so good and well put together after struggling into them in the car. I am sure there are some really good stories and ohtos that we never get to see.
I love it that you and Wayne are keeping the family farm in the family. I bet there are some good times waiting for the family traditions.
    Neautiful flue and white

  4. Darling outfit! BFTH is great. Thank you for our daily word of God and for strengthening us and enlightening us through it!

  5. Hey Cyndi! Looks like your pics were taken in downtown Lexington, near Gratz Park!
I’m originally from Lexington, but now live in Bowling Green. Mom is still in Lex, so I get back there from time to time.
Anyway, I wanted to know where you got the hat you’re wearing in the “pond” picture. I have trouble finding hats that fit me. I apparently have an XL head.🙄
Also, I wanted to ask if you would please style some linen pants in your fashion sessions, sometime this summer. I got a cute pair of cropped linen pants at Old Navy, but am having trouble making them look cute with my existing pieces.
Thanks for all you do, Cyndi!! ❤️

  6. That is a great top Cyndi! If I ‘needed’ to add a top to my closet, I would check this one out. Regarding the pond – we have a 3 acre lake. This Thursday we have a company coming out again to shock the lake. We’ve had this done before so that we can have a better idea of how many bass, blue gill, etc., we have and find out any changes that we need to make. A few years ago they helped us rid of the mill foil. If Wayne hasn’t already done so, he might want to consult with and hire some professionals to help get the pond cleaned up sooner. Have a blessed day!
