Casual Dress from Target

Well, I’m switching gears from fall fashion today, thank goodness! We are having some pretty hot weather, so summer fashion is what I’m wearing for the unforeseeable future.

Although, when I purchased this dress from Target, I thought I could wear it now with sandals, and for fall, I can add a denim jacket or blacker and some cute open-toe booties. I like to purchase items now that I can wear well into fall.

With that being said, I think this dress is too new at Target, and they don’t have it online yet. I will check back and link it as soon as they put it online. One of the things I really liked about this dress is the high neckline. I’m seeing this trend for fall on dresses and blouses.

Don’t think for one second that I don’t have my favorite pair of Spanx on with this dress. They are needed for smoothing everything out.

The Spanx I’m wearing are my favorite; they are ON SALE right now. They last forever, they wash well on the delicate cycle, they don’t show any lines, and they don’t suck you in so much that you hurt. I’m wearing a small.

I paired this dress with my Tory Burch sandals for a very casual look. When I’m not sure what sandal to wear, these are always my go-to sandals. If you don’t want to invest in these sandals, these Sam Edelman sandals are a similar option.

Next, I styled this dress with a slingback heel from Sole Society. I love the design on this heel! It’s definitely unique.

  1. Ilove your dress. And I believe a thin gold belt would complement your Beautiful gold earrings! I’ve noticed our beautiful First Lady loves belts with almost every dress she wears. I’d love to see this dress with a belt. Even if there’s no loops for a belt. I believe it would look stunning!!

  2. I love this dress. You look fantastic! As I was looking at the fashion of our beautiful First Lady Melania Trump, I noticed several of her dresses have a high neck. I love her style as much as I love yours!! You two need to meet one day! 🙂

  3. That dress looks beautiful on you, and thank goodness for Spanx, as that type of body contouring dress needs Spanx for a smooth, sexy fit.

  4. Looks so great on you and I love it with both shoes. Going to be perfect for Fall too, like you said. 🙂 What is the price?

  5. Yes, that dress looks fabulous on you! That’s a keeper! And love it with both shoe options!

I have a quick fashion question for you! I have 2 pairs of skinny, straight leg, white jeans with a nice finished seam on each leg. I’m thinking of cutting the leg hem on one pair so that it is an uneven (high/low) raw hem look. I already have 2 pairs of frayed hem white skinnies which I really like for spring/summer/fall. Don’t wear them in the winter as seem to summery to me. Do you think the high/low raw hem look will be in style moving forward/next year? As I’m writing this, I’m thinking, “No”, don’t cut them as something will happen to the remaining pair and then I’ll have no white jeans for winter. I live in California so white jeans can be worn practically year round. Your thoughts?

  6. Wow, that dress is stunning on you, Cyndi! I love the color. Please link up as soon as you can as my guess is it will sell out fast. The sling backs are so pretty but just a bit out of my price range. I will watch them in case they should have a sale. Thank you for being YOU! Meghan

  7. Thanks for the idea with the spanx shorts – I have a slip but now I want the shorts too! I see your link is for the Thinstincts and there is another on their site that look the same, but cheaper – maybe the fabric?

  8. I love this dress and for all the reasons you mentioned. It’s so versatile and will transition between seasons well.

  9. Love love this dress and outfit!! So glad you shared you are wearing spandex.. gives me hope 😂 I will watch for this on line… thanks for sharing…

  10. A phat girls DREAM!!! I love that dress on you, and it’s an incentive to get on my diet and STAY!!!! Question???? What type of bra do you have on with that dress?? it doesn’t show from the side view or straps at the top!!! I’m a MUCH larger size, and busty, but would love to know and you look so smooth front and back!!!!!!

  11. I love this dress! The similar dress will be too long on my 5’3” height and I don’t want to have to wear 3 inch heels! Please let us know when it’s on line and if the fit is true/snug/loose.

Thank you so much. Love your blog, keep up the good work!❤️

  12. I was so excited to see you share this dress! I purchased it the other day in black and I also purchased the maxi like in the oiive. They are comfortable and wash and wear well 🙂

  13. Oh my word Cyndi…..that dress from Target looks amazing on you…..I think pretty much everything you wear looks great….but I HAD to comment on this one…..it’s my absolute favourite on you!!!
