I’m Just A Nobody Trying To Tell Everybody

Happy Sunday, friends! Another week has flown by, and here we are getting ready to start a new week.

We’ve had a busy but fun weekend. Friday night, my daughter had us over for dinner to celebrate my birthday and our son, Cory’s, birthday.

I was 21 years old when I had this sweet boy. Well, he is sweet, but he was 10 pounds when he was born, and he nearly killed me. Haha!

Here is our daughter, Courtney, who hosted our party. I was 19 years old when I had Courtney. The three of us have been through a lot together.

They were babies when I divorced their father, and we moved in with my parents. I don’t know what I would have done without my mom and daddy during those years.

Not long after I moved home (a little over a year), I met Wayne, and the rest is history. We became a family.

It hasn’t always been easy, but God has always been faithful. Our life has been filled with loss, disappointment, brokenness, joy, laughter…it’s a beautiful mess, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. These are my people, and I love them.

This past week, I was listening to the radio in my car, and this song came on. It reminded me of me.

A nobody, a sinner saved by grace…..broken and blessed. For some reason, God has given me a platform, a little piece of the internet where I get to share frivolous things like fashion.

But more importantly, I get to share my faith. A nobody like me.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and, Instagram.

Have a blessed day!

  1. Happy Birthday to you and your son! Love your blog Cyndi! The fashion etc. is great, but your inspirational posts are so comforting. 🙂

  2. Happy Birthday! Thank you so much for sharing your story with such honesty! Isn’t that the truth… Jesus didn’t promise it would be easy, but He always remains faithful! We are blessed!
    Awesome song!

  3. Love your blog, your fashion and how you share your faith. It has been so much fun watching your Cyndi business grow in the virtual world– a reminder that the Internet can do some good when it seems the world is stacked against the sharing of Jesus.

  4. Thank you for your words and these beautiful songs. I love your faith and it has made me stop in my tracks so many times and look at things in my own life, differently. Have a wonderful day. I look forward to your emails!

  5. How precious and meaningful it is when you share your heart with all your “sisters” here online. I’ll bet you won’t know how many people you have touched until we all meet in heaven, but be assured, you mean a lot to me! Thank you for being an example, Cyndi! It is a big responsibility, but I know you are up to it!

  6. I absolutely love the casting crowns song. I’m just a nobody for sure but Jesus is a spectacular somebody and I’m so thankful he pulled me out of the muck and mire and set my feet on a rock. You do have a platform for such a time as these. May God multiply your efforts.

  7. Your post today brought tears to my eyes. You truly are someone who loves the Lord! Your post brings happiness to me when i read it and i always love the BFTH. Thank you Cindi!!

  8. Thank you for sharing a portion of your life story with us. Like others have posted, I would love to hear more of your life testimony. You have been such a blessing in my life since I found your blog last November. Thank you for sharing the Casting Crowns song, they are one of my favorite Christian groups!

  9. Such a lovely picture of the beauty of Christ in your story!!! God is so faithful to bring restoration!! Beauty from ashes EVERY time!!! I appreciate your blog and how you so graciously share your beauty and your life, and point us to Christ in all you do!!! Blessings!!

  10. Thank you Cindy with sharing a little of your story. I originally started following you on Pinterest looking for fashion over 40 but as
As God would have it I also found beauty for the heart. There are no accidents. You are exactly where you are supposed to be!
    Thanks again , Marlene

  11. I love, love, love that song! My husband did a Sunday School lesson on it yesterday. Also, I didn’t realize you were in a step-family. I am too for the past 27 years. It has had it’s challenges for sure. I would love to hear more about your journey.

  12. Good morning, I know you have a lot of comments so I won’t take up too much of your time. With the title of today’s blog, I had to tell you this; this past January I lost my precious, very Godly daddy at the age of 90. For the last 7 years, since my mom passed away, I had taken care of him daily and I loved every second of it. But when we were cleaning out his things, I was going through his bibles; and in two of his bibles (dated back in the 1960s) he had written this saying
“I am a nobody, trying to tell anybody, about somebody that can help everybody!” and for it to be written in two bibles it was what he lived every day. Thank you for your transparency, your faith and your love for Jesus, because I love Him too.

  13. That’s my favorite song right now. Thank you for being real with your life story. It seems like God often uses the difficult times in our lives for His glory. But it’s so wonderful when after we have been obedient through the storms, He restores and gives us more blessings than we can imagine. I’m hanging on to that for now while I have a difficult family situation. Thank you again for sharing your love for Jesus. 💕💕
And happy birthday to you and your son!

  14. Cyndi, Happy Birthday to you and your son. I love birthdays, they should be celebrated. Your story and transparency about your life really touched me.

  22. Hey Cyndi, Happy Birthday to you and your son. You are such an inspiration. We all need to remember that we are but “Pencils in God’s Hand”… whatever that pencil writes is beautiful in His eyes. You give him Glory and for us who follow your Blog, you are a sweet distraction from all the craziness in the world. It feels like we’ve been friends forever…I use your recommendations and ideas more than I do from my dearest friend. LOL! I have often read that we need to take care with our lives as we may be the only Bible some people read…. I, for one, will keep turning the page!
God Bless you and your beautiful family.

  44. Ah sweet Cyndi.. I have heard dribs and drabs of your story over the years through your blog. Everyone has a story to tell, including me. You are always so gracious and humble, giving God the glory. So great to see you celebrate with Cory this weekend. Thank you for sharing your faith and being obedient to HIS calling for your life. In Christs love 😉

  45. Happy Birthday weekend to you, Cyndi!! I have enjoyed your blog for some time through your emails, but did not realize some of the similarities we share. My husband and I have four wonderful children. My youngest was born 23 years ago on August 10, one day after I turned 42! She weighed ten pounds, as well. We are blessed and thankful for all of our children their sweet spouses, and now soon-to-be eight grandchildren! You are an encouragement to me and I pray the Lord will continue to bless and use you in the coming year.

  46. Happy birthday to you and your son, Cory. My son, Cory, also had a birthday a few days ago. There’s no relationship like that of a mother and her son. Just love my 32-year-old “boy.” And thank you for reminding us that to God we matter.

    1. You are so right about a mother and sons relationship! God gave me 2 of them and I am so thankful! (I have a daughter too, she’s a blessing as well)

  47. Oh sweet Cyndi, I just love you girl! You are shining for Jesus like stars in the universe! I too feel like a nobody but that’s okay because it’s all about Him isn’t it. That’s what we want our legacy to be anyway, a sinner saved by grace who lived in Him, through Him and for Him! You have a beautiful family! Happy Birthday dear Sis-in-Christ! 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻

  48. Happy Birthday to you and Cory 🎉. What a beautiful statement “these are my people and I love them “ I can ditto that with my family as well. How thankful I am for them everyday. What a blessing that God brought Wayne into the lives of you and your children.. He knew exactly what you needed:) I’m so thankful we serve a living God who knows what we need and just when to provide it.. he loves each and everyone of us, even when I’m sure we disappoint. Thank you for your platform of fashion and faith!!
    Blessings ❤️
    Karen

  51. Happy Birthday, Cyndi! Love your honesty and openness on your blog. Love the story God is writing and allowing you to share with us.

  52. Thank you for sharing your story..
I have followed your blog for a few years. I love your fashion, Faith and watch you every day for tips and more.
Your story is my story. I had my son at 20 and daughter at 22. I was divorced at 24 and moved in with my mom. (My Dad passes away that same year). I met my current husband, and we have been married for 28 years, this year. What a difficult, wonderful journey this life is. Always nice to know we are not alone. 🙏

  53. We are blessed and thankful for all of our children and now soon-to-be eight grandchildren! You are an encouragement to me and I pray the Lord will continue to bless and use you in the coming year.

  54. What a beautiful testimony for all women…. it gives each of us strength to “ keep on keeping on,” no matter our circumstance at the time……He continually goes before us in all seasons of life….. “parting the waters”…. Oh , how “He” loves you and me……..

  55. Happy Birthday Cyndi! Wow, great post. Your honesty and faith are what keep me reading your blog. Thanks for the inspiration to all of us nobodies!
