My 5 Wardrobe Essentials for Early Fall

Hi ladies! I hope you’re having a good week and you’re ready for the holiday weekend. My sister and her family are coming home tomorrow and spending the weekend with us, so I’ve been busy getting ready. We went to Costco yesterday so we’d have plenty of food for the weekend!

Today I’m sharing my 5 wardrobe essentials for early fall. On Monday evening, I had a women’s ministry meeting, it was raining and a little chilly, this is what I wore to the meeting. When it’s chilly this time of year, this is my go-to outfit.

1. Long cardigans– I mentioned this when I shared layering pieces for fall, but I really like duster cardigans. I like to have a variety of colors to add to my outfits. This Leith duster cardigan isn’t too long on me so I think it would be a great option for my petite ladies.

2. Camisoles I love wearing camisoles, and I have several in different colors. I think they’re feminine and look great with a cardigan. They’re also lightweight, which is perfect for early fall.

3. A Neutral Handbag- A neutral handbag for the season is always a great accessory. I recommend going for a neutral like taupe or cognac because they typically go with everything. Sole Society is one of my favorite places to purchase my handbags.

4. Wedge Sneakers While I love booties for fall, in early fall, I love a cute pair of sneakers as a transitional shoe. When I don’t want to wear sandals with my outfit, and I’m not ready for a boot, a wedge sneaker is a great option!

I purchased these sneakers during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but they’re back on sale for 40% off! They run small so size up 1/2 size. I also have this wedge sneaker, and it’s on sale too!

5. Denim A great fitting pair of jeans is a wardrobe staple. I’m wearing a pair of premium jeans that I’ve had for several years. I purchased them during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. These are hands down my favorite jeans. As far as cost per wear, I have gotten my money’s worth out of them.

For a less expensive option, these Wit & Wisdom jeans are great!

Leith Cardigan (I’m wearing an XS)//Camisole (this one is sold out, but this is a similar option)//AG Jeans (I’m wearing a size 28, less expensive option here)//Sneakers (order 1/2 size up)//Handbag (mine is sold out but more options here)//Pearl Necklace//Earrings//Leopard Belt

There you go, My 5 Wardrobe Essentials for Early Fall!

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and, Instagram.

Beauty For the Heart~~Tonight we begin our Thursday night Bible study that we have with 3 other couples. We are reading through the book, Emotionally Healthy Spirituality by Peter Scazzero. I can’t wait to dive into this book and start discussing it.

I have already learned a lot, and I’ll probably share some of it with you over the next few months. One of the things I’ve learned is that we don’t need to push our emotions down or ignore them. God gave us emotions.

“Ignoring our emotions is turning our back on reality. Listening to our emotions ushers us into reality. And reality is where we meet God. . . . Emotions are the language of the soul. They are the cry that gives the heart a voice. . .” -Peter Scazzero

Have a blessed day!

  1. Love this look for early Fall. Love your kitchen. Outs very beautiful. Thanks for the pie recipe. It sounds as delicious as my peanut butter cookies. I have a request…. It’s that time of year for our family photos. Colors are jean blue and a pop of red. I need outfit ideas. I have email address if you could let me know the links to where you might have had an outfit or few in these colors. klspicer1967@aol.com
thank youso much. I adore your outfits and often match them as close as I can for my budget. God bless

  3. Hello my name is Roselyn Feliciano. I just happen to come across your page through Pinterest and felt a connection through you style. However, I must say after reading you blog and finding out that your a believer and a person of faith I knew why I connected. Thank you for sharing your classy, fun and current style, but most importantly your love for Jesus. Glad I came across your page.

    Blessings from River Grove, IL

    1. Cyndi, Loved your look and can tell you are lovely inside and out. Your love of God is breathtaking and I too love Jesus and put nothing above Him. Thanks for sharing your great look and most of all your faith. God bless you. Mrs Angela Judy. Gastonia NC.

  4. it is always so nice to have the reminder that God created us with emotions and showing/sharing them is so natural.
For so many YEATS I forgot this and felt a tug of shame when something caused me to tear up.
I am looking forward to the things you will ge whq4int qgou5 you4 bible study

  5. I’m thinking of trying out the duster look, but am wondering if I need to pair it with skinny jeans? Is there something I’d need to do differently to to wear with boot cut or straight legged jeans (which I prefer)?

  6. The belt is a perfect touch. Great outfit. Looking forward to more excerpts from your bible study! Funny, we joined Costco last week-It was time to stop asking everyone else to pick up Premier Protein drinks for me lol. Of note, I ordered the Beauty Counter brow gel during their recent sale and it is the best! Thank you.

  7. What is the color of the cute shoes? When I am directed to the site, I’m not seeing the same color you are wearing.
    (Beautiful outfit! Thanks for sharing!)

  8. What size belt did you order? I think i typically order medium belts but if the jeans are higher waisted then I might need a small. I wear the same size as you in most things.

  9. Love Peter Scazzero’s books! So, so powerful! Love the “easy” outfit, too. You always look great. Thanks for your encouraging posts! Have a wonderful weekend with your sister!

    1. Skinny jeans don’t look good on me, but I like the look of this outfit. What other kind of jeans could I wear with it?

  10. Thanks for sharing those wedge sneakers because I saw them on maybe your instagram post then tried to track them down but they were not on sale at that time so I put them on my wish list and was so excited to see you style them again and they are now on sale! So I bought them and think they will be a great transition shoe for fall. But I have one question; since they have that cute side cutout I guess your not wearing any type of footie? We’re they comfortable that way?
Enjoy your family visit and I can just sense the excitement in your post 😀

  11. You always just look darling! I have a crazy question but one that drives me nuts. I love wearing camis but cannot seem to find a comfortable/full coverage strapless to wear with them? Anyone found a great one? I love the ones that are more minimizing and definitely not push-up.

  12. I also meant to ask in my earlier comment if I can wear my blush suede wedge sneakers into the early fall?
    Thanks❤️

  13. Hi Cyndi,
Love this look. Can you tell me if the tan shoes are suede or smooth leather? The picture looks like suede but the description indicates it is leather. I love it and would like to order once i know for sure it is leather and suede!! Thanks for all your input on fashion..:)

  14. love these essential! you are going to love that book. I just read emotional health woman by Geri
Peter is a good writer and speaker. There church did this book as part of a sermon series NewlifeFellowship.nyc the pastoral staff did a wonder job. but Im bias my brother is on staff there

  15. Love this look Cyndi. The belt and shoes did make the outfit so cute. You just know how to put things together so well. Love following you for inspiration in all areas, especially your BFTH, which was spot on today. I may need to get that book as it sounds so interesting.

What a fun weekend you will have with you sis and family.

  16. Can’t wait to hear more of your Bible study. I hate tearjerker movies – it feels like such a waste of emotion in a world where there are so many real situations to cry about. Great topic. Love the wedgie sneakers, too.

    1. I love hearing you share your faith and fashion! I have a question about your Buble study groups. How did you get your group together? I love the idea of meeting as couples. I’d love to get something like that started in my church!

  17. Love this look! so comfy and easy to wear. The shoes and belt give it that extra something-something. Have a great weekend with Traci and her family!

  18. I wish I could find camisoles that were bra friendly. I hate wearing strapless bras (they don’t fit well since I am bustier. I’ve tried so many that say – does not slip down, and they all do.) I am trying to keep summer as long as I can with summer outfits this week, but I think the weather will be changing, and it will be time for more transitional looks. I have everything in my closet for this look. Thanks! Have a great weekend!

    1. Love this look! I’ve been adding some of the longer cardigans and cami’s to my transitional wardrobe… I love those sneakers both pairs… Have a great visit with your family😀
      Blessings Karen ❤️

  19. I look forward to your blog and Instagram video clips everyday. You inspire me to look better, be healthier, and be more mindful of others.
