Happy Friday, friends! We have a busy weekend ahead, but it’s filled with family and friends, so it’s all good. It’s hard to believe this is the last weekend in October.

Today on the blog, I’m sharing some fall classics with JCPenney. I love a cute trend, but it’s also nice to have some classic pieces in your wardrobe.

All of these pieces can be mixed and matched with other pieces, but I’m sharing a classic black outfit and adding a colorful, lightweight coat.

Fall Classics With JCPenney

This striped crewneck sweater is the perfect lightweight sweater that you can wear with dress pants or jeans.

The Liz Claiborne pants have an easy-on elastic waist, and they can be dressed up or down. Either way, you’ll be comfortable with the straight leg style. These pants run big, so size down one size.

These block heels come in several colors, including black and taupe. They have a pointed toe with a three-inch heel.

Colorful coats add so much to an outfit, and this red coat is a classic and perfect for the fall/winter season.

Beauty For the Heart~~We all have days where we feel down, something is on our mind, and it bothers us. We can’t seem to see past the struggle. Psalm 3:3 reminds us, “But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.”

I’m thankful that in the midst of our struggles, God is protecting us, and He is the lifter of our heads, which means He can relieve our distresses and take away our troubles.

Have a blessed day!

  1. Hi Cindy,

I know how you feel about losing your Mom. I lost my Mom 10 years ago and there isn’t a day I don’t think about her. I still have times I cry because I so wish she was here. Someone told me that you never really get over the loss, you just with time get used to it. I think that’s true. The Lord gives us strength to get through it all but it’s still never easy. Your Beauty for the Heart sure hits home today! Thanks, Cindy!

  2. 🙂 Such a lovely outfit!
I love the slacks, the coat and the shoes…would buy all of them right now, if I weren’t in Europe…
    A HAPPY weekend to you!
    Claudia 🙂

  3. Cyndi, You look beautiful in this outfit! The red coat is so pretty. To me, this outfit looks like it cost $$$! Enjoy your weekend.

  8. It’s funny you related these outfits to your mom, When I saw your post I immediately thought of my mom. I would of definitely been shopping for that red coat. I love and miss her too. Thanks for being so delightful and shining light!

  12. Love BFTH today! and yes, as this time of year rolls around I too miss my mom a little more than usual. It’s still hard to believe she’s been gone almost 19 years – She was only 56 when she died of cancer, and now at almost that same age it just breaks my heart even more.
Lovely outfit today, and as you said, classic. I do love a red coat :).
Hope your dinner goes well – that’s a lot of people at one time, but I’m sure you are a fantastic hostess!

  13. Good morning! I really love the red coat and the work outfit! I love your style and enjoy your encouraging words. Most of all I love the Lord! We are going to have 4 couples over tomorrow night for a bonfire. Have a nice weekend!

  14. Hi Cindy.

Thank you for all of the fashion tips! I love that you show everyday fashion ideas for all occasions in brands that most can afford. You are proof that we do not have to drop a lot of money to be fashionable. I appreciate the break downs with links to where these items can be bought. This saves me so much time searching! Great job!

I have referred your blog to many friends who now follow you too.

    Have a blessed weekend.

  15. Beauty from the heart is exactly what I needed to read today! I lost my mom 6 years ago to cancer, and her last birthday was ON Thanksgiving. She passed almost a month after that. As my family was casually discussing plans around the week of Thanksgiving, I realized that mom’s birthday would again be on the Day again. It made my heart heavy and sad. BUT GOD (my 2 favorite words in the Bible☺️) truly is my shield and the lifter of my head.
Blessings to you for allowing God to speak through you.

    1. Amy Mayer, I read your comment this morning and my heart leaped when I read your two favorite words in the Bible…..”But God”!!! I have always claimed that too. God can always step into any situation…..it’s never over till God moves! Thanks for the encouraging words this morning!
