How We Radiate Beauty (Part 1)

I am fascinated by clouds. I could spend hours looking at them in the sky. Recently I was looking at the clouds, and when the sun is behind the clouds, it radiates such beauty! The clouds shine a light, and it’s breathtaking.

As women, we are like clouds in the sky, when we are filled with Jesus, we radiate a beauty from the inside out.
How We Radiate Beauty (Part 1)

We are meant to live from the inside out, letting the love of Christ inhabit us so fully that it radiates within us and shines His light.

Over the next three weeks, I’ll share ways we can radiate beauty from the inside out. Today we’ll start with the first way, which is to spend time with Jesus.

Psalm 34:5 says, Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

The Greek word for Radiant is Nawhar (pronounce Naha). It means to shine or to beam. Isn’t that amazing??

We have the secret to lasting beauty that almost every woman is looking for, and it can’t be bought at Sephora. It’s found when we spend time with Jesus.

An example in scripture of someone who radiated with God’s glory is Moses. Moses was so intimate with God that he spoke with Him face to face.

Exodus 33:11 says, Inside the tent of meeting, the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.

Exodus 34:29, says, Moses’ face became so RADIANT when he conversed with the Lord that he had to veil his face to come into the presence of the Israelites.

This is the beauty we want! While we can’t see Jesus face to face here on earth, we can spend time with Him through prayer.

True inner beauty is impossible outside of Christ. If we obtain a worldly outer beauty, we only have a hollow, fleeting beauty that quickly fades with time and age.

So this week, make time for Jesus. Let’s be women who radiate the light of Jesus!

  1. Such a lovely post Cyndi!
I like about a mile from a most beautiful mountain. The first year I retired I needed to unwind and think about all the things I wanted to do and what to do first…so many choices! I spent many hours laying in our hammock looking up at that mountain watching the clouds roll by. Sunshine on the south side and sometimes stormy on the north side all at the same time. I watched birds catching the swirls of air that circled them higher and higher.
Kinda like God, huh? Sometimes sunshine, sometimes storms but all the while lifting us higher.
Keep up the good work. You’re truly a blessing to us all.

  2. A beautiful post today. I love the imagery of the radience of the sun showing through the clouds and comparing it to the inner beauty of knowing the Lord. Sometimes it’s really hard to hold on loosely to the things of this world, especially as women who are concerned about outer beauty at times. Thank you so much, Cyndi. I love this message today!

  3. as a child I watched clouds go by and always saw a figure in the sky. How my husband andI look at clouds as we are driving what beautiful thing we see as we travel. What a great gift from God.
    Have a Blessed week.

  4. Beautiful words and song of encouragement. Our inside beauty is truly what matters. God looks at our heart. Hopefully that inside beauty can be reflected to others on the outside.

  5. Cyndi-

Thanks so much for sharing. I have to admit that I don’t spend enough time with Jesus. I posted that on my IG yesterday. But when I get in His word I feel so much better.
Thanks again and have a blessed week!

  6. After I finished reading your post and listened to the song I looked at my opened Bible. It had originally been open to the book of John. I must have flipped the pages not knowing. I was amazed when I went to finish reading in John to see it open to the book of Exodus. I saw it talking about the Lord and the clouds and I remembered your blog. It was talking about Moses and meeting with the Lord. I needed this. Thank you so much.

  7. Women waste millions of dollars per year to make themselves beautiful on the outside but neglect the most important part – the inside. Samuel 16:7b. “For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

Don’t get me wrong I completely believe God wants us to keep our appearance clean and neat but that’s not what’s going to matter in the end.

Looking forward to your continued study.

    Many blessings…

  8. Hello, Cyndi!😃
Good post! Beauty is not how we look or what we wear or flattery. The beauty that matters most is internal, it’s what’s in our hearts. Inner beauty is Gentleness, Quietness, Hope, Faithfulness, and Fearlessness and resting in God.
Again, it is only the Inner which really counts with God! Fearing and Loving the Lord brings Praise, Honor, and Blessing.
Great tip: I have this taped near my mirror:
“ Watch over your heart with all diligence, for it flows the springs of life.” Proverbs 4:23.
    Have a blessed Thanksgiving, Cyndi!
My family and I are heading to our summer home for a big Thanksgiving celebration.😊

  9. This was the first time I had heard this song. What a great reminder! Thanks for sharing. Love to all the Spiveys!

  10. Beautiful post Cyndi…you shine the light of Jesus through your blog. You are a blessing to so many. Thank you for being a light for Jesus 😘
