Thanksgiving Thoughts

Happy Sunday, ladies! It’s hard to believe Thanksgiving is this week. I love this time of year when we get together with family and friends.

There’s nothing better than sharing a meal and thinking about all we have to be thankful for in our lives.

My heart is certainly full this week as a dream I’ve had for a while finally came to fruition.

Collaborating with Gibsonlook to create two blouses will definitely go down as one of my highlights of 2019.

I have no idea what the future holds, I may not get to collaborate again, but at least I was able to do it once, and for that, I am beyond grateful.

As I thought about this year, I’m reminded of God’s faithfulness over and over again.

If you were to ask me what my life verse was a few years ago, I would have probably said, Philippians 3:10.

I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.

There’s a word in there I don’t like….suffering. No one wants to suffer.

And yet in the suffering, we sometimes see things we would never see without going through it.

It’s in the valley that many times, our vision becomes clearer.

If you asked me today what my life verse is, I would have to say Genesis 50:20.

A few years ago, I went through a difficult season, and to be honest, it was hard for me to see how any good could come from it.

Two words….BUT GOD.

But God had a plan, and all I had to do was stand firm and know that He was working all things out for good.

I share that with you today to say this. BUT GOD.

Whatever you are going through, don’t count Him out. Cling to Him. Trust Him. He is faithful!

Life is a journey, and none of us go through it without seasons of suffering. My prayer is that I don’t just go through them, but I grow through them.

Happy Thanksgiving friends!

  1. Wow! I’m a mess after that video! Lost both my parents years ago and I still miss them! They were such great people!

I hope everyone is surrounded by those they love and people that love them this Thanksgiving!

  2. I’m writing this through tears! Praying that no one feels this loneliness especially this time of year! Thank you Cyndi for sharing! I just love your heart for Jesus!

  3. Love love today’s post – thank you!

It’s in the valley that many times, our vision becomes clearer.

I’m in a valley right now and those words bring me much needed strength!

  4. This video really hit home and made me cry. We’re estranged from our only child, our adult son. I miss him so much, but have to trust God that one day he’ll wake up and realize we won’t be here forever.
    BUT GOD…

  5. So appreciate your encouragement today. Experiencing a struggle with one of my young adult children. Thankful that I have a relationship with God and know he hears my prayers. My son was dedicated at an early age to the Lord and I stand firm in his promise that he’ll bring this prodigal son back to his fold.

  6. Cyndi, I’m sorry that you’ve gone through such sufferings. Yet, I’m thankful because of the witness you provide to the Greatness of God.

The video brought tears. To me, it’s so personal right now. I even wondered if perhaps I tried it, my child might drive over to my home.

    But GOD.

I’ll keep praying and trusting in the Lord Jesus to help us all on this journey called Life.

Thank you for everything Cyndi. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  7. Oh my, that video made me bawl!!!
I hope you have a wonderful season of Thanksgiving and advent of the birth of our King! I found you on Pinterest and follow you on IG – so many fashion accounts are for a generation younger than me so I was thrilled to find someone in my age group that is fashionable! Thank you 💕

  8. Cindi, I am so thankful how you use your platform! It is very encouraging and even this pastor’s wife needed a little of that today. My husband’s job was eliminated two weeks ago. Sometimes things just don’t make sense, But God! He has a plan and we just need to keep on serving and trusting Him. Joseph had no idea what God was up to and he was able to take part in saving a nation.
    Blessings,
    Pepper

  9. My heart sank a little when you mentioned going through a hard time a few years ago. I wanted to take it away. Of course, if I could have done that, there would be no But, God story. Thank you for sharing. Wishing you a wonderfully Happy Thanksgiving, Cyndi!

  11. what a season to have one’s daughter go home from work at lunchtime to find her husband non-responsive, call 911 while attempting CPR only to his being declared deceased at the scene.
Not posting this to be a downer to others just hoping for prayers to help her through this. They are/were born again followers.

    thank you

    1. We will pray for her and her family. What a shock for her. He is in heaven that is what she can hold on too. God bless you for being kind to anyone who wants to pray.

    2. Praying for your daughter. He is with the Lord now and thats a celebration! But she feels the sadness of him being gone. I pray Gods comfort for her to get her through each day. He will help her thru, He helped me thru the same loss. God bless! Dee

    3. Oh Brenda What a terrible thing for your daughter to have to face and what a loss for her and the family. I will remember her in prayer and that she feels Gods comfort at this time especially with the holidays approaching. Prayers for you all.

  12. Thank you for sharing your words this morning. You always encourage me with your posts.
Would you mind sharing the roast crock pot recipe? It sounds delicious!
Enjoy your family today, and have a Happy Thanksgiving.

  13. Love this post today, Cindy! I would not be the person I am today had it not been for those hard things I’ve gone through when I had to trust the Lord and fully depend on Him and cling to Him. My favorite verses are 2 Corinthians 12:9&10. God has shown me over and over that He is trustworthy and faithful. Blessings!

  14. Well Cyndi we certainly do have much to be thankful for. Our thanksgiving here in Canada has since passed but as I get ready for the Christmas season and am busy buying gifts I’m So Very thankful for the best gift of all Jesus’s birth the real reason we celebrate Christmas. And for his gift of himself on the cross. I’m so thankful I came across you a few years ago on Pinterest. I was looking at one of your post( an older one for sure) and in the back ground was bible verse on your wall… well let’s just say the rest is history:) I’m also having family for lunch today and my roast is in the crockpot too…
Blessings and enjoy your family time.
    Karen
