Make Room For Jesus

Happy Sunday, ladies! It’s hard to believe that Christmas is a little more than 2 weeks away. I have a lot to get done before Christmas day.

As I look at my to-do list, I’m putting at the very top of my list, Make Room for Jesus.

We know that the reason for the season is to celebrate Christ’s birth, but it’s so easy to get lost in all the business.

There’s the decorating, buying presents, baking, and going to parties, and before you know it, we have forgotten what scriptures reminds us.

For to us, a child is born, to us, a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

We get so busy in the holiday rush that we neglect the most important thing: preparing our hearts for Jesus.

Here are a few ways we can make room for Jesus:

-Get up 15 minutes earlier in the morning and commit to spending that time reading scripture.
-Give to a family in need.
-Make a birthday cake for Jesus and celebrate His birth on Christmas day.

Luke 2: 7 says, And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

There was no room for Jesus in the inn, but let’s make room for Jesus in our hearts.

I shared this song a few weeks ago, but it’s so good and a perfect reminder of making room for Jesus.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and Instagram.

Have a blessed day!

  5. Thanks for all your great post.We all need to committ to Jesus without him we would be nothing.Lets not get lost in all the hustle and bustle and forget the real reason of the season.Cyndi you are truly a blessing to me.

  6. Lovely post. I am trying to intentionally live Advent…and not jump ahead to Christmas just yet. This is a time of preparation for our Lord’s birth. I do this by my daily quiet time in prayer and scripture study. And I have been just listening to beautiful Advent music when I’m home working. I love the song you posted reminding us to ‘make room in our heart’. Here is a wonderful playlist to have on while you wrap gifts, bake cookies, etc..that will help keep the’ reason for the season’ I love Christmas music…but first we prepare.

  7. This past year I’ve started each day in quite time. It took getting used to but now it’s become a daily routine for me and I look forward to continuing it in the years to come. I want my day to be about doing his will in my life not all about me.. It’s been busy around here and I try not to be overcome with the busyness of it all. Thank you for the reminder of where our focus should be. I’m trying to finish it all up so during the next two weeks I can enjoy family and friend time, those concerts , the singing and the messages without a long to do list distracting me. On Christmas morning we have always taken the time with the kids to read the Christmas story and that will continue even now at 23 and 25 and our daughter married.
    Blessings
    Karen
