2019 Year in Review Part Two

Well, as promised, here is my 2019 Year in Review part Two. It’s a doozy, so grab a cup of coffee, and let’s get started! In case you missed Part One, you can read it HERE.

July is a transition month in the blogging world, we start thinking about fall and winter, and things get busy. The big event for July is always the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Ironically that wasn’t my most popular post.

Staying Fit in my 50s and my Changing Style was the most popular.

We had a significant change in our family life in July. My sister and her family moved to Nashville. She only lived about 10 minutes from us, and  I’m still not thrilled that they live in Nashville, but it is what it is.

December is always busy, and in the midst of blogging, decorating, shopping, etc., I helped plan a Christmas Women’s Event at our church.

My friend Amy (she’s beside me in the red blouse) and I are co-chairs of the quarterly events committee.

Our theme was The Gifts Within Us, and we were reminded that we each have gifts that God wants to use. I love these ladies (my daughter is on the committee too)!

Here’s to 2020 ladies! I don’t know what the year holds, but I know who holds it.

Thank you for being a part of this community. I wouldn’t have the opportunity to do this job if it weren’t for you, and I’m so very grateful for each of you. Who knows maybe we will get to meet in-person in 2020!

Beauty For the Heart~~Most Sundays I write a devotion or something that I feel is tugging at my heart. I thought it would be appropriate here to share my top Sunday post for 2019.

It was How to Be Okay Even When Things Aren’t Okay. You can go HERE to read the post.

  1. Merry Christmas! Thanks for all the great content this year, it was reliably interesting, relatable and useful. Enjoy your time off with your family, I look forward to more excellent reading next year.

  2. Thanks so much for the year in review. I recently found your blog and it has changed the way I look at style and myself in specific outfits. I have found a new sense of confidence and I love my look. Or should I say your suggestions. I would love a Facebook group or any other form of social media to follow you . O am on Instagram as well I am so excited for 2020 with my new sense of style thanks to you. Every outfit I style like your suggestions I get tons of compliments. Thanks again and Happy New Year.

  3. Hi Cyndi,
There is a Facebook group I joined quite a while ago with you & JoLynn, called Fashion for Women over 40. Would you create another group or would it be the same one?

  4. Happy New Year, Cyndi! I have a Facebook account but don’t look at it much, but I definitely would if you had a Facebook group on there for fashion and beauty! Thank you for all that you do:)

  5. thank you for the review as well as the reminder that He sets our steps. My usband outfitted a closet with shelves shelves and more shelves to turn it into my sewing room (my dream) and i had such plans BUT the dreaded shingles and neuropathy continues to strike. so my plans were not His plans, i guess. Since this blog is for fashion over 50 would it be possible to have a mention that there is a new and improved SHINGLE-X.
Your review allowed me to catch up on so many things that i had missed. THANK YOU.

  6. Happy New Year to you and thank you for all you do to share your faith while blogging too. I know its important to you and its important to me and why I follow you. I don’t have facebook, so won’t comment whether you should or shouldn’t do facebook group….looks like everyone wants it but I’d like if you would share more CLEAN beauty products. I have been changing out my products slowly and still am trying to find a body moisturizer that isn’t scented and CLEAN. I have trouble with smells, so need unscented products or ones not too perfume. I’d like to know about a good CLEAN face moisturizer too. Anyone out there have any ideas? I think we all need to realize how little and how long its been…… years and years, since the FDA has put regulations on beauty products. We should not be using ones with so many chemicals etc. in them. Looking forward to what you have for 2020. Your year end review was fun. Blessings.

  7. I enjoy your posts and I think I would love a FB group!!
A couple of things I would like you to try are Tieks (are they worth the $$$) and Rothy’s. happy New Year and continued blessings to you and your family!!!

  8. Happy New Year Cyndi!
Where do I signup for the Facebook group!?!…lol
Love to discuss fashion, everyday beauty tips along with fitness..yay!

  9. First of all, Thank you for all you do! You are the best. I would love you to start a FB page. I keep up with instagram but I am much more interactive with FB. It would be great to show pictures and get ideas from other gals. Happy New Year to you and keep up the great work!

  10. What a great year in review! Thanks for your continued inspiration Cyndi, both in fashion and faith- your advice has been very helpful and you are such a positive force in a sometimes not so positive world. Happy New Year and looking forward to what you will bring your followers in 2020!

    1. Love the Facebook idea! Just reading about your Nov and Dec makes me exhausted. I don’t know how you do it. I enjoy your try ons, so I hope you will do more of those in 2020.

  11. Thanks Cyndi, for a year full of great ideas and meaningful thoughts! Right now looking for realistic resort wear ideas. I usually live in my swimsuits and cover ups with a few dinner outfits, but would like to see what’s currently trending and new ideas. Thanks!

  12. Happy New Year! Just wanted you to know that I enjoy your blog and look forward to the email each day. I appreciate your work including the Sunday inspirations.

  13. Love the idea of a facebook group! YES! Also, are you speaking at any retreats this Spring. One of my goals this year is to attend a conference or 2. Learn a new skill or take a class, etc.

  14. Thanks for all you do! I don’t think I have the time to follow another fashion FB group. The one you and JoLynne started is great and maybe you could provide feedback there instead of starting a second group? Just a thought, thanks!

  15. Loved your Part 1 and 2 edition of 2019!! Nicely done :)! I would love if you would put together a private FB Group! I get a lot of ideas from others with these private groups – fashion, beauty, etc. It would almost feel as though we were even more connected (i.e. FWTFL community)! Looking forward to your future posts – continue with health and wellness, make-up techniques/applications, and hair products that are great to use/try! Wishing you the best in 2020!

  16. Great post and love your blog when I have time to grab my coffee and stop in. We have moved twice this past year so a lot of stuff going on but 2019 was a great year! I would like anti aging posts (tips & tricks to try makeup wise ) so we didn’t have to do Dysport or filler as much. Last year I wasn’t as pleased as before with dysport and my forehead because I fell in the street walking and had a terrible bump that took forever to go down and when the dysport was done in March, one shot in middle of forehead projected my forehead alittle too much I thought and looked odd until it finally settled down. So I still using my medical grade skincare products including a plumping peptide moisturizer and retinol plus vitamin c serum. Also would love to see more hair things. I am so tired of this bob haircut but still get compliments on it but the bob has hung on forever like a bad cold. LOL! Can you find us different ways to style it so it looks all different? You are very talented with hair and makeup so I know you always know the latest. Happy New Year to you and your family! Big fan of yours! Bonnie

  17. I love the idea of a Facebook group! I look forward to all the new ideas you will share this year!
    Blessings for. Beautiful 2020
    Melissa

  18. Happy New Year Cyndi !!! I’m not sure how I missed part one but I got to read it today along with part two. It’s nice to look back at the accomplishments for the year. Thank you for not only sharing your fashion ( which I love because it’s so similar to mine) but more importantly your faith and encouragement. I really do like the try on sessions and even the hits and misses plus how to wear quality pieces various ways. Shopping our closet would be nice too. Thanks again for all you do and I hope you get to do more clothes designs this year!!!
Blessings to you and your family ❤️

  19. Love your blog so much!! It has been a great source of encouragement for me.
Hope you do a Facebook group. That would be awesome.

    1. Happy New year!! I enjoy your blog so much. First email I look for each day. I would love it if you started a FB group. Love your spiritual messages also.

  20. Happy New Year Cindy! A big thank you for your work on your blog, and for sharing with us tips, as well as the ups and downs of life. I also want to say thank you for the the encouraging spiritual side of this. I am so thankful that Jesus is with us on our journeys!

  21. I think a Facebook Group would be great! It would be great to ask questions and get lots of fashion, makeup and hair ideas. Looking forward to seeing this.
