How I Style My Side Swept Bangs

Hi ladies! Today I’m sharing a video on How I Style My Side Swept Bangs. I realized that when I was doing the video that the way I part my hair might be what’s different about my bangs.

I hope this helps! (If you want to watch my video in full-screen mode you can go to my Youtube channel HERE. Then click the square in the bottom right corner of the video.)

These are the products I use:

Kevin Murphy Bedroom Hair | This is a lightweight finishing spray that adds texture to your hair. I use it when I style my hair straight or with loose waves. It smells amazing!

Wet Brush Original Detangler | Great to brush damp hair, which is delicate and can break easily when wet.

Davines OI Oil | Adds shine and softness to hair while also detangling and fighting frizz, working especially well on coarse or dry hair. I add this after I’ve styled my hair to the ends of my hair.

ghd Gold Professional Styler | This is the flat iron that I use to straighten my hair.

Beauty Counter Shampoo |  Purifying daily shampoo, and it’s so good!

Beauty Counter Conditioner | Nourishes hair with marula and mongongo oils, and it’s good!

Olivia Garden Ceramic and Ion Thermal Vent Brush | I use this brush to straighten my hair while blow-drying.

Elchim 3900 Healthy Ionic Hair Dryer | This is a really good blow dryer. My Dyson quit on me, and I decided not to purchase another one. But honestly, I miss my Dyson blow dryer.

ORIBE Dry Texturizing Spray | I love this spray for adding volume to my hair. I don’t use it every day, but I love using this when I need a little extra body in my hair.

Davines OI All In One Milk | A multi-function leave-in hair milk spray that softens, detangles, controls frizz, and protects the hair from heat. I spray this on my wet hair before blow-drying.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and Instagram.

Have a blessed day!

  1. Hi! I saw your list of hair products, but didn’t see which Kenra spray you use. I use #13, which doesn’t always give me the right amount of hold.

  2. have you ever tried the revlon Salon One Step hair dryer and volumizer…its amazing and I think we have similar hair\

  3. Thank you for sharing! I too struggle with a round brush. I will try the angled part on my bangs next time. Happy Easter!

  4. Hi thanks so much for this video! I love your hair and I ordered the Kevin M. product. I have a question. If I ordered your self tanner before and go to reorder it… Do you get credit for that or should I go back to your website to find it and reorder that way? PS the self tanner is AMAZING!!!

    1. You’re so sweet for asking and I really appreciated it. I would not get credit if you reorder from your Amazon account. Cookies only last a few days.
You can search it on my site in the search box and reorder from my site.
      Thank you again!

  5. You my dear are the sweetest lovable blogger out there! I’ve never followed anyone before. I LOVE your beauty for heart thoughts message. Warms my heart that u r sharing the Truth. I’m a 42 mama w 3 teenagers that wants to keep trendy & cute but mostly teach & model a heart for Jesus . I look up to u as a mama a little ahead of me in life. Thank u so much for sharing . 💗 Blessing , Stacey

  6. Thank you for doing this. I know videos are so much work, but they are worth it for really helping us learn a technique. Your hair always looks good!

  7. Easter blessings to you Cyndi and yours,
My question is are your bangs cut straight across, or at an angle,
Do they also have a layering to them? 🌸🌸🌸

  8. Great job Cyndi. Thx for sharing. Have you tried any of the L’ange products yet? They have great reviews… just curious 🤷🏼‍♀️ Happy Easter ✝️ He is Risen!

  9. Great video I love the soft pink shirt you’re wearing. It looks like the Murphy’s bedroom hair is worth a try. I’m hoping Walmart here carries it. I’m still going to buy the beauty counter shampoo and conditioner. How long does it last you?

    1. After watching your video, I think I’m going to try the Kevin Murphy spray. I’ve never heard of it before. Also, I love your pink top. Can you share where it’s from please?

      1. I’m not sure about my hair color. My stylist mixes it and I know it’s something with a 5 and 6 and it’s Kevin Murphy hair color.

    2. You are just darling! I always look forward to all of your tips on fashion and beauty. I had no idea you had extensions, just curious, how long is your hair without them? I tried them once and didn’t care for them but your hair always looks amazing.

  10. Do you use a flat iron protectant? I noticed you also use a texturizing hairspray before flat ironing which would fry my hair out as well…sorry Cyndi but I just got my hair healthy again and am always interested in new products…love Kevin Murphy but hairspray before flat ironing is a big no-no for me. Just wondering if you used it after you finished styling?

    1. The Kevin Murphy product is not hairspray it’s texturing spray. It doesn’t damage my hair at all. it has Ginger Root Extract and no alcohol in it.

  11. Just wanted to say that I noticed you used oil on your hair before you flat iron – I did this before and it completely fried my hair. Certain oils like argon oil are apparently safe (but even still I don’t want to take the chance). I looked on their website and noticed the instructions didn’t say to use before flat ironing – what are your thoughts?

  12. Thanks for the video! I usually don’t use heat styling unless I have to. I do run thru my bangs if I have to but am scared of damaging my hair. I went thru that once and had to use L’anza Trauma Treatment for awhile till my hair healed. The bang part was really helpful to me as mine are growing right now since I can’t get to hair stylist to trim and tried to trim myself but don’t know if exactly right so will try the side swept for awhile. Do they bother you falling in your eyes? The hair style is very becoming on you!

  13. Thanks for posting the hair. Ideo. Was great to see how/when you use the product you posted the previous day. I know you only try to wash your hair every 3 or so days so a question I had was how do you make your hair look so good on the days you don’t wash it? Do you reuse some of the product? Do you use the hair dryer again? Or do you just run a brush through it and go?

    1. I use the ORIBE texturizing spary on days that I don’t wash my hair. That helps with volume. I do use my hair dryer if I need to.
I never think it looks as good on the days I don’t wash it. I personally like fresh washed hair.

  14. What kind of blow dryer are you using? I thought you used a Dyson but that one looks different. I’m needing a new one and can’t decide which one. 😊

  15. Thank you you for the video. It was great! Do you happen to know the name of the paint color on your bathroom walls behind you in the video? It’s beautiful!
Have a super day and weekend!
    Julie

  16. Thanks for this great video. Is it possible that you can add a list of the products that you use? Thanks.

  17. That was fun and helpful to watch but I think you were just blessed with good hair. What type of flat iron were you using ?

  18. Thank you for the video. What kind of extensions do you have and are they a nuisance to work around? I love your style!

    1. I have weft extensions. They were a little at first but now I’m used to them so I don’t pay attention to them. I’m just careful with them.
