Two Early Summer Looks

Happy Tuesday! Today I’m sharing two early summer looks with you: two different shirts, one with sneakers, and one with espadrilles.

Someone commented on one of my posts that we need just to move forward and start talking summer fashion. Spring fashion has been taken over with loungewear. Haha!

I think I agree; I’m hoping to be out and about this summer, so let’s get ready and start talking summer fashion.

Floral is still trending this year, and I thought this was a pretty feminine floral blouse. It has a ruffled neck and ruffled short sleeves.

Another thing trending for summer is clear handbags. They were popular last summer, they are a trend, and while I really like them, I don’t want to spend too much on a trend.

Walmart has this cute bag in several different colors and patterns, and it’s under $15. I’m carrying the cognac croc tote.

I found a similar one like the one I’m carrying at Nordstrom for $210. I think I’ll stick with the one from Walmart!

These espadrilles are lightweight and comfortable. They are perfect for summer and on sale for under $50.

I did a front tuck; I’m also wearing an off white satin cami under this blouse. The blouse is polyester and slightly thin, so a cami works great.

Mine is sold out, but I shared a similar one below from the same brand. Satin cami’s in different colors are a basic wardrobe staple.

Next up, I have a basic white top, but it has a leopard print pocket on the front. I styled the top with jeans and sneakers.

If you want to add some leopard print to your wardrobe without being over the top, this is a good way to start.

These retro New Balance sneakers are on sale.

AG jeans are designer brand jeans. They’re my favorite designer brand and the one I will spend more money on, but I purchase them when they’re on sale.

  1. Yeah!!!! Summer outfits. I’m so ready for normal clothes. On Easter we went for a drive after online service….just my husband and I this year and so I put on a Spring outfit and my new pearl necklace you are styling that I just received in the mail. I love it. It was fun to wear jewelry again. Thanks for the necklace recommendation and link. As for hair. I am sooo ready for cut/color. I have short hair and get my hair cut every 5 weeks and its just now 6 weeks, so I know its going to get harder and harder to wait. I haven’t had long hair since 6th grade. LOL MANY years ago.

  2. I loved the t-shirt with the leopard print pocket. Also need to order the cami in black or the floral. I would also be curious to know what you love about the AG jeans that you would spend that much for them???? How do they compare to the Levi’s you also love from Amazon that are much cheaper?????

  3. Hi Cyndi! Thank you for styling summer clothes. I’m ready for summer too! Haha, of course I type this while watching snow flurries outside my window here in Kentucky, making summer feel far off and yet I know it will arrive before long. I agree with you re: hair salons. However, I so appreciate my salon (you go to the same one) for mixing my root color for curbside delivery! That was a small blessing in the midst of our new normal! Thanks for BFTH as always! 🙂

  4. Did anyone else take one look at that purse and think ” oh, you could so disinfect that since it’s plastic! Maybe I should start carrying my purse in a plastic bag!” (Actually I’m not taking my purse in anyway, it’s wallet only and my cell is in a dry bag so I can clean it off!

  5. I love how you put these together highend jeans with less expensive top and shoes and bag from walmart. I love the leopard outfit so cute. I going to see if i can find those sneakers. love it !

  6. Hi Cyndi!

Thank you for sharing these looks. I wish you felt better about taking pictures when/if your hair grows out too much. It’s actually what the rest of us are going thru and it makes you relatable. We should be okay with feeling beautiful however we look and, as sisters, supporting one another in that. It’s perfectly fine not being “picture perfect” in these times.

    1. Too funny! I have been growing out my dyed hair for the past 8 months and have been embracing my new grey roots! I am in my mid 50s and was tired of the maintenance in time and cost! I have received so many compliments on my new hair! I no longer need to worry about the roots issue; it is very liberating! Embrace your inner “Silver Sisterhood!”

  7. I really missed wearing my spring clothes this season, so I’m looking forward to summer outfits to wear out when we’re allowed. I loved the floral blouse and would have purchased it. However, when I went to order it the only size left was an XL(!) and that was early this morning. I need a small…that happens a lot. Oh well.

  8. Love the t-shirt but cannot find origin info from Amazon, therefore I’m assuming it’s garbage made in China. Can you confirm where it’s made?

    1. I can’t confirm. I don’t have any more info than you. I thought maybe because it’s an Amazon choice it would be reputable but not sure about that. Sorry!

  9. Mornin’ Cyndi!
Just wondering what it is about the
AG jeans that you like some much? You
look great..that leopard pocket top caught my eye..just a splash not over powering!
Thanks for the summer looks..I need something to look forward to even
    here in FL!

  10. Love the white t-shirt with leopard pocket!! So cute and basic and affordable! How do you recommend washing the white t-shirt though? I’m worried that the black and brown in the pocket will bleed into the white??

  11. Hi Cyndi! I love that necklace and I know it is sold out. Do you know if they will have it back in stock, or where I could find one similar? Thank you for the summer looks!

  12. So glad you posted some styles for summer as I was getting bored of joggers and spring items I can’t wear right now. I thought the Walmart dup bag was so similar to the expensive one so great job on finding it.
I also love the espadrilles but might be a tad to high for me. Here’s a question regarding espadrille shoes; how do you clean them? Specifically around the heel area?

  13. Good Morning Cyndi,
I love both of these looks. Just wondering about the sizing. In the blouse the size chart looks like you would have gotten the xs? Is there a reason you went to the small and do you find it too big? also what size tee shirt did you order? I am looking at getting both. We are pretty much the same size only I am 5″3.
    Thanks for sharing summer inspiration:)

    1. Karen I gat a small in both of these tops. Sometimes Amazon tops run small so that’s why I went with the small in the floral blouse but I would prefer an XS in that one.
