Question and Answer – July 2020

Happy Friday, ladies! Well, it’s been a hot minute since I did a question and answer post, so I thought I would put one together. When I start getting a lot of the same question over and over, I know it’s time to do this post.

LET’S GET STARTED!

1. What color is your nail polish?

When the nail salons were closed, I used Mani Me nails. They worked great for that season, but truthfully, I do like the SNS nails better. So I’m back to getting my nails done.

I like a white color on my finger and my toes. Dark colors shorten your fingers, and I have short fingers, so I prefer light colors all year long. I use CS24 with the SNS nails on my hands.

I get gel on my toes, and I use Funny Bunny.

2. What does your diet/meal look like on any given day?

I have shared before that I do intermittent fasting. So I don’t typically eat until Noon or after each day.

My eating window is usually Noon until 8 pm. So I’m fasting for 16 hours. There is a lot of information on IF out there, but I was first introduced to it with Faster Way to Fat Loss.

When I got serious about losing a few pounds and getting healthier, that is where I started. I still believe it’s a great program if you want to lose weight and learn how to eat healthy.

I try to eat ‘clean’ and what I eat changes weekly. I love salads for lunch, and at night we typically eat a meat with two vegetables. I rarely eat bread.

I will splurge some on the weekends if we go out to dinner, and on Sundays, I typically make a dessert for our Sunday dinner.

3. Do you keep most, some, or all of the clothes you show us? Or do you “borrow” them and then return?

I don’t keep all the clothes that I style. It is hard to let go of some of them because I really like them, but I don’t need all the clothes that I style, no one does.

I do all the research, looking at reviews, styles, etc. and then I show you styles that I love and would wear if I kept it all.

My goal is to show clothes from different stores and different price points. I know everyone doesn’t spend the same amount on clothes, but we all want to dress cute and feel good about ourselves.

4. Love to know which, if any, exercise equipment you use.

Right now, I am going to classes four times a week. The classes are HIIT, Barre, Flow, and Cycle. I worked out at home for a long time, but I’ve wanted to push myself a little harder, and these classes do that for me.

5. Is there a way to access old posts to see an item or how you styled it?

Yes! If you look in my right sidebar, there’s a box that says ARCHIVES.  You should be able to find any old posts there by months,

Also, my header at the top has a place to access all my fashion posts, and it’s divided into seasons.

6. Any input to upcoming fall/winter trends? So many sales, not sure what to buy.

I will be sharing a lot about the upcoming trends, so stay tuned!! Can’t wait to share what we will be wearing this fall.

7. What have you changed or added now that you are in your 50’s?

I wrote a post on this HERE.

It was mostly about fitness and style.

In my 50’s I think I’m more confident. I wear what I like; I don’t follow fashion rules. I have my own, which means I like conservative styles, but I’m willing to try lots of different things.

I don’t think you should dress your age, I think you should dress your body type.

As far as what I do for wrinkles, I started getting Botox in my fifties, and I get it three times a year. I have also gotten filler around my eyes, cheeks, and my temple area.

Each of us has to decide what we feel comfortable doing.

8. I love the way you decorate your house. Can you add a tab on your blog with some of the items you have bought for inside your home?

Thank you! I will add that tab to my header soon. Here are some posts I’ve written on our home.

8. Is your Husband retired from ministry?

I get this question all the time! The answer is no. I’m not sure we ever retire from ministry, but I think you’re asking if he is still pastoring.

Wayne stepped away from full-time ministry in 2017. We did not step away from our faith, but we needed time away from ministry.

I was 25 when I married Wayne and became a minister’s wife. A lot has changed in 29 years in the church, and to be truthful, ministry is hard, and it took a toll on both of us including our marriage.

We both love Jesus and want to serve. We believe strongly in the local church. My husband has a pastor’s heart, and I believe he is called to pastor.

Right now, he is the interim pastor at one of the campuses of the church we attend. Covid-19 is making things difficult right now, but we love our church family and are thrilled to be serving.

Okay, I think that is enough for today! You are welcome to share some more questions in the comment section and I’ll answer those in another post.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and Instagram.

Beauty For the Heart~~ I don’t have to figure everything out. I just need to stay close to Jesus. I can run my emotions ragged trying to make sense of things that aren’t ever going to make sense…or I can ask Jesus to show me how to move forward in some small way today.

Make something beautiful today. Make good from the hard stuff today. Make a true investment in loving someone today. Make it evident I’ve spent some time with Jesus. -Lysa Terkeurst

Ladies, the best investment we can make today is to spend time with Jesus!

Have a blessed day!

  1. I was very interested and excited to read that you follow the Intermittent Fasting Program. My daughter and I both have lost weight and maintain a new healthy weight by sticking to this program. Once you decide that you can get by for 16 hours without eating and that breakfast is not necessary, it is the easiest weight loss plan I have ever attempted!!! My sister, who has struggled for years with excess weight and poor health, now follows it as well and cannot believe the success she is experiencing and without feeling deprived or restricted!!! Thank you for your daily posts…I have just recently subscribed and find your posts both interesting and inspirational. In Christ…Judy

  2. Love these Q&A’s. I always feel I get to know more about you through them. You are so kind to share your personal self with your fans. You’ve inspired me in many ways while following you over the past 8+ years with BFTH, your style and your soul. Thank you. I bought and wore the Old Navy leopard dress and belt for date night last night and it was a big hit with my hubby.

  3. That was a fun post. Enjoy your grandkids this weekend. I have both mine coming this weekend too with their parents. So excited. They are 11 months and 2 1/2 months. One of my kids can’t come or we’d all be together for the weekend. Hard to get it to work out with everyone. The BFTH was spot on. We all need to hear that right now. I need to check out the link you sent to the Nord. preview. I always look forward to FALL as its my favorite time of year, but not quite ready yet.

  4. This was fun to read. Thanks for being so open and
honest. I forgot to ask about your hair extensions. Will you continue to wear them after your hair has grown out and have they effected the health of your hair?

  5. Thanks for the Q&A on the blog today. It’s nice catching up:)
Have a great weekend. It’s going to be another hot one here.. hope the blow up duck makes it in time for Colt to enjoy; although I feel like a little someone is going to want that too😉

  6. Thanks for sharing. Always enjoy your blog and have been following for a number of years. Keep us what your doing…your inspiring!❤️

  7. he may have worded it slightly differently, the make it evident you have spent time with Jesus was a frequent reminder by my grandfather. Thank you. Perhaps i should add that on a post it on the bathroom mirror.
while i so enjoy the fashion and health updates the beauty of the heart is no one. THANK YOU

  8. Hi Cyndi and Happy Friday to you! I am 56 and discovered your posts (through Pinterest) several years ago and became an immediate fan of your style and have followed you since that time. I recently signed up for your daily emails and started following you on Instagram. I have to share with you how much I look forward to receiving your emails and posts every day to see what the topic of conversation is for the day and to read your “Beauty for the Heart” statements. I’ve learned a lot through your words about fashion, make-up, decorating, relationships, etc. Please don’t ever doubt that you’re making a difference in your “fans” lives – you are, every day. Thank you for sharing your views, your life, your fashion expertise and your beauty advice with us. I appreciate you. Have a great weekend!

  9. I love Lysa’s message in your BFTH today. I needed this so much. You are beautiful inside and out Cyndi! Enjoy your grandkids and family this weekend!
