How I’m Prepping for Fall and Winter

Hi ladies! I don’t know about you, but I’ve been prepping for fall and winter. With all the unknowns of COVID 19 and the flu, I don’t want to wait until the last minute to have some things on hand.

I have ordered a thermometer from Amazon.

Something else that we purchased last winter was a Light Therapy Desk Lamp.

Fall and especially winter can be dreary here, and of course, we have less daylight. My husband and I both feel we need to use this lamp.

Of course, I have plenty of masks on hand.

We like these from Old Navy, they’re inexpensive, and they have a variety of patterns,

I am also stocking up on my essential oils and Thieves’ products.

I use my essential oils every day, all year long. I’m so thankful to have these oils, and I love cleaning my house with safe products.

I use Thieves Laundry Detergent, Thieves household cleaner, Thieves waterless hand sanitizer ( The FDA keeps recalling hand sanitizers but not Thieves hand sanitizer), Thieves Essential oil, and much more.

It’s safe to clean with the Thieves products around kids, which means I’m not using any harsh chemicals around Colt and Claire.

I diffuse thieves essential oil in my diffuser all the time. Thieves’ potential benefits include things like boosting immune function and fighting infections. Read more about Thieves HERE.

If you’re interested in getting started with Young Living Essential Oils, the starter kits are how you get the most bang for your buck, and with a 100 PV starter kit, you get a Young Living wholesale membership.

These kits have the most used oils in them so that you will be well on your way. For more information on HOW TO USE ESSENTIALS, you can go HERE.

To get started, ORDER HERE and make sure number 1819242 appears in both the “Enroller” and “Sponsor ID” fields.

When you become a wholesale member, you are not required to sell or purchase oils monthly. You are signing up to get a starter kit and, therefore, 24% off retail prices on every oil forever.

If you love using what’s in your starter kit and want to get more of what Young Living has to offer, I recommend signing up for the Essential Rewards monthly auto-ship program.

I signed up for the essential rewards, and I get a “healthy box” monthly. I can order whatever I need that month, and I’m able to stock up on all my favorite items.

Are you doing anything to prep for Fall and Winter??

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and Instagram.

Beauty For the Heart~~ Isaiah 41:10 is one of my favorite verses, Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

This verse is a good reminder that God is our source of strength. There is no need to fear the future.

Have a blessed day!

  1. I use Branch Basics plant base cleaners and laundry soap etc. love it. As for preparing I really haven’t. I need to though as many items we can stock up now on. I have to eat really clean from food allergies so eat so many fruits and veggies. I have always been concerned as I can’t stock up on canned goods as so many I can’t have. Most processed packaged things I can’t. I don’t want to be fearful so trust God will provide in some way. I hope we are pleasantly surprised and Fall and Winter aren’t any worse. Maybe not better but hoping not worse. Neat you are canning Cyndi. I never have tried it.

  3. I enoy prepping actually. After hurricane Katrina wiped out my small town in MS. I learn prepping is very important. When I go to the store I always pick something up extra like soap, toothpaste, or whatever catches my eye that I know we use alot of. I put in a tote and put it up. It really came in handy this year. When we were in lock down I went upstairs opened my box it was like Christmas.🙂 I also order from Auguson Farms and Ready Prepp store. They sell freeze dried and dehyrated foods. I love the vegetable’s and fruit’s. Some of their products have a 20 year shelf life unopened.

  4. So interesting to read how others are preparing. Your post made me realize I need to order a good thermometer. My son is a physician and he recommends having a good pulse oximeter on hand, which is a small device you place on your finger that measures your oxygen level. He said oxygen levels can drop quickly without one even realizing it until it becomes a serious issue. Having this device on hand while we’re sick only makes good sense, with or without a pandemic. I’ve stocked up on some supplies and am buying a few extra supplies to share with others who are found in need. And more than anything I’m staying close to the Lord through prayer and reading His Word!

  5. For the fall, winter and spring I ordered a small propane fire column. We plan to socialize more outdoors like we have been all summer and this will be a fun way to keep warm!
I’m sure my hair stylist will be happy about it too as she is cutting my hair outdoors!

  6. Thank you Cindy for that reminder. We have been also stocking up on some supplements such as zinc, vitamin C, echinacea, and such. Hoping that we don’t need them and praying that things settle down and we are soon all immune to this terrible virus

  7. I am working at preparing emotionally for the reality that traditional Holiday gatherings will not be happening. Having an attitude of what I CAN do daily and not what I CAN’T do and having a grateful heart for all the CANS is how I am preparing for what is ahead. God CAN provide what we need.

  8. Love that you use thieves. Would love to hear more about how and when you use it. Good reminder for me. Thank you and stay healthy!

  9. I’ve ordered Norwex masks. Yes, they’re making masks now! They have the silver bacloc technology in them so at least you won’t infect yourself from your own bacteria. They r machine washable as long as you don’t use any detergent w fillers and no fabric softener. Dries fast. They also have great safe cleaning products and wipes that clean without the use of harmful chemicals. I’ve been stocking up as well, buying a little extra each grocery trip. I also take supplements to boost my immunity. Trusting Jesus to guide us thru it all.

  10. We take healthy supplements with lots of vitamin C and zinc. We also drink some tonic water every day- the kind with quinine. My husband and I use a spray with hydrochlorous acid on counter tops, touch points in the house and car and on our skin.

(We have a commercial sanitizing business and use the hydrochlorous acid-but you can get it for personal use also.
I have extra food supplies but buy things I would use normally and also keep extra water on hand for emergencies.

  11. Hello all, My husband does window cleaning and he has found that diffusing essential oils puts an oily film on windows. So, if you find that your windows are difficult to get clean that could be the reason. May need just a little extra scrubbing or a little more rubbing alcohol in the mix to get them clean.

  12. In your email you mentioned that you’re canning. I’ve never done this but have been thinking about it myself. Can you share tips and tricks on what you’re doing? Thank you!

  13. Until today I had no idea you used essential oils. Please share more of how you use essential oils, any DIY hacks you have and what blends you diffuse!!

  14. Well it’s hard to even think about fall especially this week as we have been under heat warnings. Today as I sit by the pool it’s 104 with the humidity. I have been using my grocery trips though to start stocking up on items especially those that disappear quickly. That way I’m doing it gradually and not all at once.. I have enough Lysol wipes, hand sanitizer and yes toilet paper 😉 . Now I’m adding to my pantry gradually. We all have masks and effective Friday they are mandatory in all inside locations. I did by Goli apple cider gummies as well as elderberry gummies for the first time. I should add a thermometer ( I don’t have one). I like being prepared as we have no idea what the fall/ winter season will bring. Right now we have zero active cases and things are pretty good so for me a time to make these extra trips to the store:) I’ll keep a good supply of our vitamins on hand too as we take those year round.

  15. What a great idea to out a few drops of essential oil in your mask. I’m going to try this and how did those Old Navy Mask hold up after washing them? I have them in the cart now. Also ordered that same thermostat from Amazon and it’s great to have now days and especially for the grandkids.

  16. I enjoy my oils! Thank you for the beauty for the heart verse. So interesting how many times I find a theme throughout the day starting with an early morning devotion.

    1. Also meant to ask how do the old navy masks fit? I’ve been finding some too big around the ears.
      Thanks

  17. Thanks for posting. After ordering a starter kit last year, I have not ordered recently and need to get back in the habit of diffusing again. I love the idea of diffusing Thieves during cold/flu season.

  18. I also put drops of Purification in my mask! Also, I’m trying not to be afraid and listen to our Lord, I fear that they will make the vaccine mandatory and I will fight this!!!
    Have a blessed day!!

    2. Me too Deb. Everyone dying for the vaccine to come out but that isn’t always right thing for our body. We are vaccine happy in the United States. It’s criminal the amount of vaccines our grandkids have to have compared to us. Like 3 times more and they are giving way too many at one time at each visit. At 2 months the aluminum level is like 17 X the amount they should have. I truely believe vaccines have caused autism and other problems. People need to be informed. Anyway they better not make flu vaccines mandatory. They never seem to get it right and we get the flu anyways. I quit getting the flu shot.
