Skin Care Update -January 2021

Hi ladies! I want to share some new products I’ve tried over the last year that I really like. I explain why I tried these new products in my video, so I won’t write it out here.

Revision Skin Care can be purchased on Amazon, and it is sold through Revision, so you’re getting the real product.

Also, Revision is on the pricier side, but I have used it for a while, and the products last for at least 4 months for me, which helps with the price point.

Again, as I said in the video, I don’t use all Revision skincare, but I do use some of them, and I really like them.

Skincare products I use:

Morning:

Revision Skincare Brightening Facial Wash

Matcha Tea Treatment Toner

SkinMedica TNS® Advanced+ Serum (I only use this in the morning because of the price. I put it on my face and neck, but I’m using it specifically to help with my neck.)

Colleen Rothschild Eye Serum

Revision Skincare Vitamin C Lotion 30%

Revision Skincare D.E.J. Face Cream

SkinMedica Essential Defense Mineral Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 35

Nighttime:

Colleen Rothschild Cleansing Balm

Matcha Tea Treatment Toner

Colleen Rothschild Eye Serum

Revision Skincare D.E.J. Night Face Cream

If you have a product that you feel has worked for you, please feel free to share it with us!

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and Instagram.

Beauty For the Heart~~ When I was writing this post, I started thinking about everything I put on my face. I lather up with cleansers and moisturizers all to help my skin look its best.

Truthfully, I can do all that, but I believe spending time with Jesus is the most important beauty ingredient if I want my face to shine.

I want to shine the light of Jesus. He’s better than any beauty product. A woman who shines with the love of Jesus is the most beautiful!

Have a blessed day!

  1. Good morning! Thank you for letting HIS light shine through you! I agree that when you let HIS light shine through that is what makes someone truly beautiful!

  2. Seeing your beautiful face and smile and hearing your lovely voice has made my day! Thank you for sharing! Totally with you! Much love to you and your family!

  3. Does ANYONE have suggestions for the horrible above-lip lines? (I have never smoked.) I think I look decent for my age, but I despise these lines. I know everyone is going to say fillers, but I have a fear of looking like one of the Real Housewives of (Anywhere). (Anybody else think they all look alike except some are brunette and some are blonde?)

    1. I use the Rodan and Field AMP roller (I think that’s what it’s called) and go over my lip line. It really seems to help. Pricey but it lasts a long time.

  4. I just found you a few months ago on Instagram and I enjoy your fashion and beauty posts. But I love the most that you unashamedly and boldly talk about Jesus! Yay! He is the One Thing!

  5. This is great. Thank you for sharing and for testing all these products out. I’ve been using the Beauticounter Countertime collection and honestly it’s fine but I’m not as impressed as everyone says. I understand that Beauticounter has a great incentive program so I don’t know if that’s why all these bloggers say they have great results. I don’t think the products are completely ineffective, but just not as great as they say. Anyway, I look forward to trying some of these products for skin care. At 53, I’m definitely noticing more lines, sagging and circles. Boo!! I am also really enjoying all the comments and suggestions!! Thanks again!

  6. PS. Where do you apply the eye serum? Just under your eyes or eye lids too. Can you recommend something for eye lids to rid of crapey skin, where eye shadow doesn’t look smooth anymore? If this serum is it I’d like to try.

  7. Great video. I wish I liked change. I never know what products to try as I’m all for CLEAN beauty and like you said so much out there isn’t. I think so much of skin as we age and how it looks is genes too. My Aunt never used a bunch of products and even just washed her face with warm water at night and when she passed away at 86 yrs old she still had good skin. :). I do like the Colleen Rothchilds cleansing balm you recommended a long time ago. I can do the smell and it makes your skin so soft. I can’t do perfume smells so limits me a lot. Especially if ordering online and can’t smell it. I wish you’d do more video post. . I don’t have Instagram. Great to see this one. :).

  8. I’m going to be honest. Does anything really work other than genetics, peels, Botox or fillers? After the age of 45 I honestly feel products don’t work nearly as well as interventions in a derms office. My dermatologist recommended the Ordinary Azelaic acid, vit C and SkinMedica Lytera 2.0 Pigment Correcting Facial Serum. In the evening, retain a with the Lytera.

  9. I started using Olehenriksen products. I love them!!!! I use the Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum and the Banana Bright Eye cream. Not only have I been pleased with the results, I love the scent. So refreshing every morning. Still a Collen Rothchild user every night.

  10. Love your honesty. You have beautiful dark features. Could you at time suggest clothing options for fair blue-eyed dirty blondes on the older side. Keep up the good work of offering faith, fashion and fun for women!

  11. First I would leave your closet as is and let them see the issues first hand:) Second is was like you were telling my story as I too along with my daughter switched skin care and make up options in March! It seemed like the best time to research and see what is actually out there! I hadn’t looked or switched since my early twenties 🤦‍♀️. I was always if it ain’t broke don’t go fixing it kind of person especially where I have normal but sensitive skin;however I realized that as I was aging( going to be 53 end of month)!I needed ingredients my current regimen was not providing me. I switched to the Beauty Counter Countertime Collection and love it. I still use my Clinique mild facial soap wash as my cleanser and then add three steps from BC. My face as never been so smooth and has a nice glow! I also switched to Tarte eyeshadow and shape tape and mascara. It feels good to try new things and I’ve realized that you can’t always get everything from one company each one May excel at something. I was very focused on using safer products that have fewer to no chemicals as I really think we should be careful of what our body is absorbing.. just my thought:) thanks for sharing to encourage branching out and trying new things!

  12. Very interested to check these out :). My game changer has been Tretinoin, and I mix it with Honeyskin organic cream to make it tolerable.

  13. Hi Cyndi. Thx for the video. Question for you, how do you know what’s really working when using so many different products?? Do you feel it’s necessary for so many different products or can skin care be more simplified? I feel like I have a little of this and a little of that, & not sure what’s working?? Anyway, thx for being the “guinea pig” for us. I so appreciate you & all you do for us 🥰 have a blessed day!

    1. Yes Lisa as I was reading this post I had the same question. With so many products you may not even need one or two as the others are doing the trick. I just can’t get into so many morning and night. Hard. Plus very expensive. I hope Cyndi answers your questions. Whatever she’s doing she looks beautiful.

  14. Good Morning!
First I want to tell you how much I love your blog, Instagram. It is so refreshing to have someone so positive in my morning. Love your Beauty For The Hear. Always so good.
My question is about 2 years ago (which means probably 5!) you shared a journal that I love and want to purchase again. It had a place for goals, affirmation for the day, etc. Can you help me with the name?
    Thank you so much.
I hope you have a wonderful day and best wishes for the New Year!

  15. Good morning and thanks for your morning message! Happy New Year too! So, I use quite a variety of different brand products and am almost 57, have minimal wrinkles and often receive compliments on my skin. I do not wear any kind of foundation or powder so that’s saying a lot, I guess! 🙂 Daily, I clean my face with a combination of Philosophy brand products – the Microdelivery Exfoliating Facial wash and Purity Made Simple One-Step facial cleanser. This is followed by Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3 for combination skin. Once a week I use Colleen Rothschild’s Glycolic Acid Peel pads. In the shower, I use good old J&J’s Purpose soap for my face, neck and back; have used since I was a teenager. And, of course, you can’t forget the Dorco Tinkle eyebrow razor for at-home dermaplaning! Hope this helps someone out there who might be struggling with skincare issues. Have a great day!

  16. Since August, I’ve found The Ordinary and The Inkey List to be amazing – inexpensive but really great. Even my daughter uses their products. I’ve used both lines and prefer the Inkey List Vitamin C, caffeine eye serum and hyaluronic acid which make a noticeable difference. Just because these are on the cheap end does not make them ineffective – the thousands of reviews on Sephora prove that!
