Day 14 Spring Fashion: How To Style a Midi Dress

Tremendous thank you to Gap and Shopstyle Collective for sponsoring this post.

Happy hump day! Today we’re talking about how to style a midi dress, and I’ve got the prettiest fuchsia pink midi dress from Gap that’s perfect for spring.

Gaps having their Friends & Family Event through 3/23 with 40% off Everything + Extra 10% off; some exclusions apply. Use codes FRIEND + FAMILY.

Gap has plenty of basic pieces like tees, denim, and joggers, but they also have plenty of dresses for the upcoming spring season.

In the last few years, the midi-length dress has been gaining in popularity. A midi dress falls midway down your calf between your knee and ankle.

This style flatters every shape, size, and age making it universally flattering. The midi dress will visually make your waist appear slimmer and hugs the curves on your lower half in a good way.

The midi dress is great for mature women because it hides varicose veins and those droopy knees.

Because of where the midi dress hits on the leg, I feel this length looks best with a heel. It doesn’t have to be a high heel, and it can also be a wedge heel.

This dress is flowy, and I think it runs slightly big if you’re in between sizes, size down.

The knot twist detail on the dress is figure-flattering.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and Instagram.

Beauty For The Heart~~ “The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness” Isaiah 61:3 NKJV

Scripture tells us when we praise with a heavy heart, we will find hope, and we’ll see that God is bigger than the situation we face.

Have a blessed day!

  1. The pink midi dress is a beautiful color. When I looked online it seems like it was cut in pretty deep around the arms. Do you feel like it is bra friendly?

  2. Quick question – did you get a Petite or Regular length? It’s just gorgeous and want to make sure I get the right length!

  3. Hi Cyndi,
Let me start by saying I love your blog! I have a question about the dress from Gap. I’ve ordered it, (love it), however I don’t wear sleeveless anything. What would you suggest that I wear over this dress?

    Thank you!
    Claire

  4. Beautiful dress!

Just checking on post from yesterday. What size did you get in white J Crew shorts? Thanks!

  5. What a gorgeous dress! Loved the way you styled it, too. Honestly I wouldn’t have given it a second look the way they have it styled on the Gap website. It might just be in my cart right now. 😉

  6. Wow what a pretty dress on you Cyndi..I could envision this being worn to a Spring/Summer outdoor event. Thank you for Beauty of the Heart!🌹🌺🌷
We will continue to remain vigilant + united across the world as we move through this 3rd wave. God bless everyone!

    1. Looks like you enter it as 2 separate codes. First one enter FRIEND for the 40% off and then in second one enter FAMILY for extra 10% off. It’s in the header banner at the top of the webpage. 🙂

  7. Hi Cyndi! This dress is so cute and is at a great price so I had to buy it. I think this dress would look nice with a floral wrap or scarf. Thanks for BFTH!

  8. Beautiful color! Do you think it’s dressy enough for a wedding? We have one in July. Thank you for all you do for us and especially sharing your faith 🥰

  9. So pretty on you Cyndi. I am enjoying your Spring fashion posts. I appreciate how you give us different price points to suit our budget. Your background choices are quite beautiful too. XO

  10. That dress is adorable and would work on so many levels – wedding, work (maybe different color), bridal/baby showers, dinner out, etc.
