Preparing For Easter

Hi ladies! Today begins Holy Week, and I’m preparing for Easter week. This is a sacred week for us as Christians as we recall the events leading up to Jesus’ death by crucifixion and His Resurrection.

We begin today with Palm Sunday. A great way to begin is by reading the scriptures associated with Palm Sunday. Below is an excerpt from Matthew, and it’s from The Message translation.

This is the full story of what was sketched earlier by the prophet:

Tell Zion’s daughter,
“Look, your king’s on his way,
    poised and ready, mounted
On a donkey, on a colt,
    foal of a pack animal.”

The disciples went and did exactly what Jesus told them to do. They led the donkey and colt out, laid some of their clothes on them, and Jesus mounted. Nearly all the people in the crowd threw their garments down on the road, giving him a royal welcome. Others cut branches from the trees and threw them down as a welcome mat. Crowds went ahead, and crowds followed, all of them calling out, “Hosanna to David’s son!” “Blessed is he who comes in God’s name!” “Hosanna in highest heaven!”

As he made his entrance into Jerusalem, the whole city was shaken. Unnerved, people were asking, “What’s going on here? Who is this?”

The parade crowd answered, “This is the prophet Jesus, the one from Nazareth in Galilee.”

One of my favorite ways to worship throughout the week is to listen to music. I recently heard this song, and it’s a powerful reminder to stand on His truth.

While the world looks like it’s falling apart, we know that God is not falling apart.

Life is hard at times, and like you, I have seasons of fear and brokenness. I know my pain has a purpose, and I will stand on His truth. Will you stand with me?

  6. Beautiful song. Also wanted to say congratulations on the baby news. I’ve been following you for awhile and remembered when your daughter struggled in her first marriage and now she’s happy and has a beautiful daughter and another one the way. We never know why we experience such pain but we have to trust in the process and believe in God’s plan.

  7. Thank you for this song. Love your Sunday post.
Can you site in Matthew where these verses are? I have several translations and would like to compare.
