Denim Styles For Fall 2021

Since we’re talking all things fall, I thought we would talk about denim styles for fall 2021. This isn’t an exhaustive list of all the trends but the trends that I feel I can embrace and wear.

These denim trends have a good chance of sticking around and become a stylish replacement for our skinny jeans. Not that skinny jeans are out; I’ll still be wearing my skinny jeans.

I read that light wash AND dark wash jeans are “in.” Low rise jeans are making a comeback, and of course, if you want to wear very baggy jeans, they are also trending.

Denim Styles For Fall 2021

Straight Leg Jeans

Slim straight jeans hit the waist or even higher; they can be a zip or button fly. Straight jeans are a lengthening style.

Bootcut Jeans

2021 bootcut jeans are slim, have a higher rise, and have just a hint of a kick out at the bottom.

Boyfriend Jeans

This jean is more relaxed than a skinny jean, yet just as chic. It’s comfortable with a loose fit and is the epitome of effortless chic dressing.

  1. Continued prayers for baby Caroline and the rest of the family. I’m glad to know that she is healthy. I like that so many styles of jeans are trending now.

  2. So what it looks like to me is ALL styles of jeans are “in” lol 😂 good to know, I like mine to my ankle where I’m5’5” makes my legs look slimmer.
But I do wonder about the printed jeans with floral design on them because the number one Fall style from several bloggers and magazines are saying the floral or designed pants are “in” . So would that be for jeans too??
And YOU look beautiful as always, Cyndi!! 🥰

  3. I’d say my BRAND currently is the Levi Denizen modern slim cuff (not cuffed cause i’m tall enough to not need to) – this brand is so incredibly forgiving in fit, keeps its shape/properly snug all day long. I’d say they are a slim fit BUT I also still love my skinnies

    1. So many choices. I have my Time and Tru skinny jeans from Walmart in all colors and they should get me through fall, winter and into spring. So glad to hear Baby Caroline is doing well and, before you know it, she will be home and thriving. Four and a half years ago our little Audrey was was born a month early weighing in at three pounds. They sent her home at about 3 1/2 pounds and having such a tiny baby with so many issues to deal with was so challenging and it takes a whole family helping to get through it all. She is now a healthy active smart little girl who will be starting kindergarten tomorrow. Caroline and your family are in my prayers as you navigate through this difficult time.

  4. I can emphasize with you all
We had a preemie 31 years ago
It feels like a forever when they are in the hospital
Praying 🙏 for little Caroline to get big enough to get home soon!
Ps I love that name !!!!

  5. How exciting there are more options out there then just straight leg jeans. Looking forward to getting some of them!
So glad your granddaughter is getting better, continued prayers for the family.

    1. Don’t like low rise at all. Tops front tucked look terrible with them . I like a mid rise myself. I wouldn’t mind high rise so much but most of them bag down in the front area and I have to keep pulling them up. Anyone else have this problem. I don’t know if it’s the Jean or my waist height. I need to get to a store to try jeans on. I just can’t do online ordering as too many returns when trying jeans. I’m ready for Fall dressing. It’s my favorite. 🙂 Good list of jeans. Will have to save your post to check out in stores.

  6. Say it isn’t so! I’ll be stocking up on jeans this year to take me through the low rise trend. Currently, I have mostly straight leg jeans, with a couple of boot cut and one lonely pair of skinnies.

I hope Caroline comes home soon. What weight does she have to obtain before leaving hospital?

  7. I’m happy to have lots of denim options right now! I was bored with skinnies, and honestly they’re not the best cut for my shape. I never embraced the super high rise nor the low rise way back when; I’ve settled in the middle, which is what works well for me, and I doubt I’ll ever vary from that much regardless of other trends. My favorite fit is boyfriend! They just work so well for me. I have looser pairs but also more fitted pairs, so there’s a pair for any denim occasion. Thank you for including lower price points as well as premium options! Sending love for Caroline!!!

  8. I hate to see low rise coming back so soon. Wonder whether that means I should go out and buy all the high waisted jeans I can find?

Glad to hear about Caroline’s progress. I know this is a hard time for everyone.

  9. I’m so glad to hear Caroline is coming along and doing well.. She’ll be home before you know it! Continued prayers being sent your way!
As far as the Jean trends go it’s always nice to see what’s in. I think I see a little of everything these days!
Lower rise not my favorite ( loved the cracks me up line lol) I’m sure you didn’t intend it but that’s what I thought of as I remember those low rise days… too much seemed to show😂
I really like my skinny jeans and slight distressed jeans, and I’m liking the boyfriend Jean. Maybe the key to wearing them is to size down so they’re not too baggy. I do like the pair you’ve styled.

  10. Thanks for this, Cyndi! Very helpful. I certainly like that there are lots of options for jeans. (I don’t think I will ever do low rise again, though!)
I pray often for Baby Caroline and the rest of your family. I know you are excited to hold her!
