3 Ways to Style a Shacket

Hi ladies! A shacket is definitely on trend for fall. If you haven’t heard, a shacket is a mixture of a shirt and a jacket; it’s cut like a shirt but usually made of thicker material or even lined.

Shackets are available in plain colors, checked in a lumberjack look and a leather-look, to name a few, and today I’m sharing 3 Ways to Style a Shacket.

3 Ways to Style a Shacket

I recently found this corduroy shirt/jacket, and I think it’s perfect for my fall wardrobe.

1. I’m wearing the brown color shacket, and for this first outfit, I styled it with boot-cut jeans and leopard heels.

2. Next, I added the shacket to a black dress. I tied it in the front to help define my waistline.

3. Lastly, I kept it super casual with a pair of jeans and sneakers.

I like this shacket because it’s soft, lightweight, and will work great for layering as the weather gets cooler.

Have you tried the shacket trend yet?

  1. I recently bought a shacket and didn’t really know how to wear it. I now do, thanks to your post! Thank you! Oh, I also love hearing about your RV adventures with your husband. Sounds a lot like me & my husband. It’s good to know we’re not the only ones having mishaps!😉Thanks again!

  2. This probably sounds silly but how did you get the knot so perfect in the dress photo? I’m thinking it’s a great look and maybe adding western boots to dress up the look for rodeo season.

  3. I just bought this shaket in the beige color. I have one other shaket that i love! I’m built similar to you, and tho some shakets can make a person look bigger, i think if it’s styled right, they’re very cute!

  4. I am going to skip this one…I bought one last year and could not stop feeling frumpy in it – going to sit this trend out

  5. Is there a tag with the fabric content? According to the page it’s 100% polyester. No thanks. It’s hard to find clothing on Amazon with a cotton/poly blend. 🙁

  6. I don’t know…. A small may be too big for me. When you go to the website I think the model is wearing hers wayyyy to big. The cut looks so different on you. I like it better. Not sure how I will embrace this trend.

    1. Me too, not my style. Seems like wearing a man’s shirt. Which some women like I suppose, but it’s not for me.

    1. I agree with you, Joan. I remember this trend even before the ‘90’s (women wore them in my office to keep themselves warm). Wasn’t for me then, and won’t be for me now. I guess it’s true that what goes around comes around.

  7. Concerning the shacked, it is not a favorite of mine. I feel that if you do not get it to fit properly it looks so big and makes your body look as if you just through something on. The one that you are showing on your body looks great because if fits properly.

  8. How did you find the sizing on the Shacker? Amazon is saying people my size are choosing two different sizes. I’m bigger on the top.

  9. I really like the ways that you styled the shacket! I bought one last year, and thanks to your recommendation, I just ordered the brown one from Amazon. I am hot natured and live in south central GA, so shacket work great for me in place of a coat.

  10. Well either I’ve been out of style or Instyle for a very long time when speaking about the shackle! LoL 😂. I’m a retired teacher and wore button up shirts in all materials as a jacket for many years while teaching. They kept my arms covered in a cool classroom and easily taken off when go outside. I really like this corduroy one! 🙂

  11. Hi Cyndi…a question on the Kut boot cut jeans….is the size down recommended because they actually run large or do they tend to stretch out (or both!)? I also like the shacket looks today! Looks like a versatile piece! Have a blessed day! 💕

  12. Gotta say…The s jacket is a trend I really like! How do you knot it at the waist without it looking too bulky?

  13. You had me at corduroy. This is the first shacket I’ve been tempted to buy and it’s now in my cart. I love it!
