3 Ways To Style Wide Leg Pants

Hey friends! I’m so glad wide leg pants are in style; they’re comfortable and cool for the summer months. I recently purchased this pair of wide leg pants from Old Navy, and I’m sharing 3 ways to style them.

3 Ways To Style Wide Leg Pants

It’s best to tuck in your top or find a way to accentuate your waistline when wearing wide-leg pants. Simply said, it’s all about balance.

You need to create a flattering silhouette while making sure you’re not drowning in fabric, and a tucked-in top, tight or loose, will do just that.

First, I went with a more casual look and styled the wide leg pants with a striped top and sneakers. This is great for running errands, grocery shopping, etc.

Striped Top (I’m wearing a small but could size down) • High-Waisted Linen-Blend Wide-Leg Pants (I’m wearing a small, regular length) • Sneakers (less expensive option here) • Earrings

Next, I styled the pants with a pretty floral top. You could easily transition this for work by adding a blazer.

Raw Edge Tank (I’m wearing a small) • High-Waisted Linen-Blend Wide-Leg Pants (I’m wearing a small, regular length) • Wedge Heel (I sized up 1/2 size)  • Earrings

An easy way to make wide-leg pants look polished and elegant is by opting for a monochromatic look. I love an all black outfit, even in the summer months.

Cyndi Ruffle Sleeveless Top (I’m wearing an XXS) • High-Waisted Linen-Blend Wide-Leg Pants (I’m wearing a small, regular length) • Braided Heel (I sized up 1/2 size)  • Earrings

So, there you have it! This could be your new favorite wardrobe addition for the season.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and Instagram.

Beauty For the Heart™But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. Psalm 1:2-3

Truth: The psalmist describes spending time in the law of the Lord as a delight. Meditating on scripture should not be a duty or something we check off our list.

The more we delight in God’s presence, the more fruitful we will be. A person who spends time in God’s word will prosper. That doesn’t mean financially or having more “stuff.” They’ll prosper because they will look more like Christ and exhibit stability and strength like a tree planted along the riverbank.

  1. I love the wide leg, flares and bootcuts. Also glad to see high waisted pants back. We need more of them. The mid-rise and skinny leg looks are not good for any of us who are curvy and not stick thin. I’m not overweight but I have curves and I don’t like my backside hanging out when I sit down. I hope you can share more of this style!

  2. I bought OId Navy’s version of the wide leg pant last year in two colors(black and chambray) and love them. They aren’t quite as wide as yours and have a tie drawstring waist and perfect length for my petite height 5’3″. Anytime I’ve tried to get some before the length is always too long for me. They are linen but don’t wrinkle which is another great thing. They seem to be quality linen. Anyway, they are in great shape still and I plan to wear them more.

  3. Hi Cindy, Love the look on you. Comfortable yet you can dress up. I will be getting wide leg pants for sure. Thank you for showing us that even though we are petite we can wear wide leg pants.

    Have a great day!

  4. Loving the wide leg pants!!! Appreciated that you showed both casual and dressier look with same pair of pants. I am especially a fan of the all black outfit as well as the one with striped T-shirt.

  5. I didn’t think I would like wide leg pants because I’m petite and didn’t think they would be flattering but I found some at Loft in petite and love them. They are a cotton blend and don’t wrinkle as much as Linen. If Old Navy had the black ones in petite I would get them but they are sold out. They look super cute on you!

  6. Hi Cyndi,

I just bought these pants from Old Navy and they’re wonderful and are so versatile!

I’m thinking about trying the new white pants from Spanx. Have you seen them? They’re pricey but would be well worth it for coverage 🙂

    Have great day; appreciate you!

  7. Hi Cyndi,

I love the black outfit best, but with that said I don’t think I’ll be wearing wide leg pants. I just went yesterday to a boutique shop and tried some on. I’m not very tall and have a thicker midsection so they just aren’t as flattering as they should be.😔

    1. No wide leg pants for me. I’m just not a fan of how they look at all. I really miss your outfits with skinny jeans. I’m not liking the wide leg or baggy looking jeans/pants.

  8. Could you please repost the link for the rainbow top from Belk you wore on a reel a few days ago? I can’t find it!!😢 Thanks!!
