Have fun on your trip to Maine. Lots to do and see up there. Acadia is nice for hiking, Ogunquit is also great with Marginal Way and shops, Bar Harbor, etc. Have a few lobster rolls – their lobster is the best. You should stop at the LL Bean flagship store while in state too!
My husband and I, with another couple, are visiting Maine the last two weeks in September. We’re staying in an Airbnb house near Bar Harbor and plan to do some exploring and hiking in nearby Acadia National Park. Several coastal towns are on our list to visit, with lobster rolls a priority(!).

Went to Maine for first time last October. It should still be warm in August. Take a light coat or raincoat. If doing coastal, go all the way up to Bar Harbor/Acadia Mountain. Be sure to get a warm lobster roll. We stayed in Ogunquit, Rockland, and Bar Harbor. In Ogunquit, do the Marginal Way. Camden is a beautiful place, but then all of Maine is beautiful.
Hi Cyndi, enjoy your camping trip to Maine when you go! As a native of Long Island, New York I’ve visited Maine several times, both the coast and inland. Both regions have so much to offer. Bar Harbor is one of my favorites.Hope you can share some of your LLBean looks while you’re there. Oh, and our northeastern nights even in the summer can get chilly, dress in layers.
