How to Stay Healthy During the Holiday Season

Tremendous thanks to Nordstrom and Shopstyle Collective for sponsoring this post.

With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it’s easy to let our health go by the wayside. The combination of cold weather, a packed social calendar, unhealthy holiday foods, and the stress of the season leaves a lot of us feeling overwhelmed and unhealthy once January rolls around.

This is why continuing to prioritize our health to help us stay healthy during this time is so important for our bodies and mind so that we can give our friends and family the best version of ourselves.

I love comfortable workout clothes, and Vuori is always my go-to when working out. Nordstrom has a wonderful selection of Vuori pieces for women and men.

Here are some of my tips to help keep you healthy during this busy holiday season:
  • Finding time for a workout session can be hard when your holiday season is always filled to the brim with activities, events, and gatherings. That’s why it’s so helpful to schedule exercise in your life just like anything else! Exercise is just as important for your mental well-being as it is a wonderful stress reliever, so try to get your body moving every day.
  • Don’t forget to stay hydrated! During this time of year, we get so busy that we forget to drink enough water. Consuming plenty of water helps to boost brain function, aids in hydration, and maintains healthy skin.
  • Holiday events tend to be full of unhealthy foods, so make sure you are fueling your body properly. I try to eat between 75 to 100 grams of protein daily paired with vegetables, which helps keep me energized and feeling full throughout the day.
  • A good night’s rest is crucial for your overall health. Allow your body to rest and recover from the craziness of the holiday season with 7-8 hours of quality sleep per night.

This energy top from Vuori is my favorite because it’s a good length and not too tight. It comes in several colors, and I’m wearing the ruby heather color.

I’m also wearing the daily leggings in black.

These On cloud sneakers slip on with no tying. Easy peasy! They are also waterproof against rain, puddles, and slush to keep feet dry in wet conditions.

Vuori has everything I need to work out and still be stylish.

Energy Top (small) • Daily Leggings (small) • On Cloud Sneakers (I sized up 1/2 size)

After I leave the gym, I can wear this jumpsuit if I have some errands to run. It’s great for everyday wear, travel, etc.

The jumpsuit has a henley-style bodice, drawstring waist, and tapered legs.

Lux Henley Jumpsuit (small) • On Cloud Sneakers (I sized up 1/2 size)

I love this time of year and want to enjoy the holiday season, but I also want to continue to prioritize my health.

Have you tried any Vuori activewear?

Make sure you check out all the Vuoir pieces at Nordstrom. As always, Nordstrom has free shipping and returns, which makes shopping a breeze!

Beauty for the Heart™For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. 1 Timothy 4:8

Truth: The reason godliness is more important than physical fitness is due to its eternal value. Physical fitness is a good thing. At the very least, it means taking care of the body God gave us. But physical fitness only benefits us while we have this physical body. On the other hand, spiritual growth impacts eternity.

  1. Do you find it best to go early or late to the gym? I was trying to decide that as I left PT yesterday at the Healthplex. We have a Baptist Healthplex here since it’s a college town. I toured it yesterday & it is amazing. I would still walk with my friends but would use the cycle , water robics classes and strength training for the arms and the indoor track when raining and lap pool. Sauna would be good too. Any tips on fitting it all in since the days are shorter now? My knee was my problem but isn’t a problem now but as we get older the water is so good for low impact exercises. I want to get ahead of the game. Thank you for the link to exercise clothes….checking them out!

  2. I see you said you eat 75 to 100ngrams protein. Can I ask you to please include a post of exactly what that looks like for you as I struggle with that?
    Thanks

  3. Good reminder on drinking enough water. So key. I struggle with consistent excercise because of chronic migraines. I pray for healing all the time and try to walk as often as I can, but doesn’t seem enough. I eat healthy and get plenty of sleep. 🙂 I love Vouri. Thanks for reminder Nordstrom sells it too so we can get free shipping. I think it’s triple points thru Sunday too isn’t it? Thanks to all who serve and have served.

  4. Happy Veterans Day! I’m surprised the clothing realtors aren’t even saying Veterans Day sale on their promotion emails like in the past.

  5. What do you eat to hit 75-100 grams of protein with out eating so many calories that you gain weight?? Cute workout outfits!!

      1. You look the perfect weight for your height and build. That is hard!!! Any tips for staying at the perfect spot.?

  6. I have a few vuori pieces on my Christmas wish list!
Keeping with my exercise is always a goal this time of year as it does get hard to fit it all in…also my daily probiotic and Vitamin D are key for me and panathonic Acid. I also bought protein mix yesterday for the first time to add to my smoothies.. I eat meat but I’m not a big meat eater if that makes sense.
Remembering all those who served and continue to serve on this our Remembrance Day, Here in our part of Canada everything is closed as we pay honor to our veterans 🌺
