Hello, ladies! Depending on where you live, you may already feel a hint of winter’s chill in the air. The temps have dropped drastically this week in Kentucky, and I’m excited to put together a cozy winter wardrobe for the upcoming season! Today, I’m sharing one of my favorite looks from Talbots that is a must-have for any winter wardrobe.
Talbots is a great option for timeless, classic pieces that still feel modern. I’m loving their newest arrivals for winter, from comfy sweaters to outerwear, accessories, and more.
Right now, you can get 30% off regular-price dresses, skirts, shoes, and accessories, valid from 11/14/22 – 11/17/22.
I’m wearing their Spruce Fair Isle Sweater Dress in black. It’s a soft cotton blend that’s machine washable! The length makes it appropriate for work or church, while the overall dress could work for Thanksgiving or holiday parties.
The Fair Isle design makes this piece winter-ready and really pops against the dark color of the dress. Plus, the design, along with the mockneck, draws the eye upwards.
I paired it with these luxe Suede Tall Wedge Boots to balance the longer dress length. What makes the boots even better, they’re super comfortable and have a memory foam footbed and flexible outsole, so you don’t wobble in them! They are also available in brown.
The entire look is equal parts cozy and polished—it works as a transitional outfit from fall to winter and can easily be worn throughout the season.

Have you ever shopped at Talbots? What are some of your favorite classic winter pieces to wear?

“The LORD said, ‘Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by. ‘Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper” (1 Kings 19:11-12, NIV).
The Lord told Elijah to stand on the mountain in His presence, but He didn’t come in the ways Elijah (or we) would have expected: in a wind, earthquake, or even a fire. He came in a gentle whisper.
In the Hebrew language, the phrase for “gentle whisper” is Kol D’mama Daka, meaning “the sound of thin silence.” That’s where the Lord meets us: in the thin silence.
Today, let’s quiet our hearts so we can hear His gentle whisper.
