How To Style Spanx Faux Leather Leggings

Today I’m sharing how to style Spanx faux leather leggings. Faux leather leggings are a great option through the fall and winter months. I love that they’re comfortable, warm, and versatile to style, and you can easily dress them up or down.

Here’s How to Style Spanx Faux Leather Leggings

I’m usually a size 4 or 6 in denim jeans, depending on the brand and style, and I wear a medium in Spanx leggings. I’d suggest sizing up if you’re in between sizes, as many people say they run on the smaller side.

An oversized sweater is a causal option to wear with your Spanx faux leather leggings.

A cozy and warm boot paired with the leggings is an easy outfit to style and keeps you warm.

Oversized Turtleneck Sweater (XS, I sized down) • Spanx Leggings (Medium) • Black Boots • EarringsBlack Crossbody Bag (black is sold out)

For a casual, running errands outfit, throw on your leather leggings and a basic crew neck tee. It’s comfortable and creates the perfect canvas for layering on other pieces. Meeting friends for a casual lunch? Throw on a denim jacket and sneakers for an effortless look.

Here’s a fun, sophisticated party look. I chose a pretty red blouse and gold earrings. To complete the look, I paired my favorite style of pumps in black.

Beauty for the Heart™But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to the LORD, for he has been good to me. Psalm 13:5

Truth: In Psalm 13, David made a conscious choice to trust God’s love even when the dark clouds hovered, and he couldn’t feel God’s presence.

We are never alone; God is always nearby….even when we can’t feel his presence.

Of course, it’s easy to trust God when the bush is burning, the waters are parting, and the mountains are shaking—it’s those silent years that are discouraging, But blessed is the person who does not interpret the silence of God as the indifference of God.  -Erwin W. Lutzer

  1. I ordered a pair off Amazon last year and tried them on and ask my hubby what he thought. He send no send them back. He thought they were more for young ladies. I haven’t tried the Spanx tights however. I think wearing a very long sweater would make them more attractive too.

  2. I ordered that sweater when I first saw it on you but it hasn’t come yet. Now that I see it on you standing up, it may be too big and long on me. I had planned to just wear it around the house cozy or running errands so will see. I’ve never wore faux leather leggings and don’t know if I’d like my leggings to be shiny drawing more attention. You look great. Very cute boots too. I’m glad to see you still styling the longer sweater with leggings. I felt it was getting dated but I just like it if I’m staying home, and don’t feel like jeans. I think the updated boots help keep this look current. I love DSW for good prices and they sell many name brands.

  3. Hi Cyndi,

Where did you get your stackable bangle bracelets? I know you’ve told us before, but I can’t remember and I absoutley love them.

    Thanks,
    Shelley

  4. I don’t like leggings of any kind except under pants to keep warm. When I see faux leggings I think of a comment I read on another blog. The woman said she felt like sexy Sandy on the movie Greece. That cracked me up. If leggings are worn with a long top covering front and back then they are modest. So many women wear them with short tops. My friend’s son said women who wear leggings showing everything might as well be nude.

  5. Cyndi, I know you’re busy, and I did just try to search the site for your silver ball bracelet but didn’t come up with anything. Could you link?
    Thank you.

  6. These are a big NOPE for me, as I can’t get past the feeling that I have no pants on!!
This is another trend that is not universally flattering, but then, trends seldom are.
Of course you look good in everything, Cyndi!

  7. Love BFTH, especially the quote. It made me really think. We want a “show” all the time. If I really look and listen God is always “showing out”!
    Thanks,Cyndi

  8. I don’t have any faux leather leggings. I find if your legs are not really slim the shine emphasizes the size of your legs. But, if I did I would style them with longer tops to cover the my buns and wear them with booties, not heels. Being edgy, they do not fit my aesthetic.

    1. I bought some. Then broke my shoulder and had surgery. Still in PT so haven’t worn them yet. Thinking I would need both arms to get them on. Probably by that time they will be out of style.

  9. Last year I purchased black faux leather leggings from banana republic and they have been a go to for me when I want to be casual, comfortable but take the outfit up a notch! I wore mine to a concert with a light sweater and blazer over top and white sneaker! I also like a longer white tee with denim jacket and fashion sneaker! There’s so many options! I really want to get a pair of the spanx leggings though as I think they would be a better option for everyday than the ones I have! I also like that they come in petite length!
    Have a great weekend

  10. I’ve worn the faux leather leggings for a couple of years and I love them. I have 2 pairs! I wear them casual with a tee shirt or sweat shirt and then dress it up to wear to work (teacher)with a long sweater and boots or a blazer and booties. These are some of my favorite pants/leggings.
