Chambray Shirt with Olive Shorts: A Classic Summer Outfit

A chambray shirt and olive shorts (another cute option here) is a classic summer outfit that is stylish and comfortable. The chambray shirt’s casual look pairs well with the olive shorts’ versatility. This outfit can be dressed up or down, making it perfect for a variety of occasions.

You can choose a short-sleeved or long-sleeved shirt, depending on your preference. If you choose a long-sleeved shirt, you can roll up the sleeves to add a more casual touch.

Next, I paired the chambray shirt with a pair of olive green shorts. I’m wearing a pair of airy cotton shorts with a drawstring waist and roomy pockets.

This Calvin Klein bag is leather, and I love the light grey color for summer. A crossbody bag is convenient because you can keep your hands free while carrying them. It’s great for walking around town, doing errands, or traveling.

I also styled this outfit with Stuart Weitzman espadrille wedge sandals. These sandals run TTS but are a little wide, so they wouldn’t work if you have a narrow foot.

The Classic Black Linen Dress with a Fedora Hat

The classic black linen dress (a belted option here) is a staple in my summer wardrobe. It’s elegant, versatile, and can be dressed up or down for any occasion.

A fedora hat is the perfect accessory to add a touch of sophistication and style to this timeless look.

I styled this outfit with this adorable tote, and I’ve been using it for my everyday bag. It has plenty of room, and I love the stitching detail.

This black shirtdress would also look cute with a belt, and for a more casual look, wear some white sneakers.

Beauty For the Heart™Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs. 3:5-6

Truth: These verses are a powerful reminder of the importance of trusting God. When we trust God with all our hearts, we are not saying that we understand everything that is happening in our lives. We are simply saying that we believe that God is in control and that He has our best interests at heart.

When we lean on our understanding, we are saying we believe we know better than God. We are putting our faith in our own abilities rather than in the power of God.

But when we submit to God and trust Him with all our hearts, He promises to make our paths straight. This doesn’t mean that our lives will be easy. It doesn’t mean that we won’t face challenges. But it does mean that God will be with us through it all.

  1. Always look forward to reading your blog daily. I think you and I could be best friends, lol!! I love to shop and love home decor and decorating. Your an inspiration and thanks for sharing your great finds.

  2. Both outfits so classic and you show them off better than the store models.
I guess I missed something. I knew you were moving but never knew why. Your home is absolutely gorgeous and seems to have every amenity a home needs for family and especially grand children. What prompted your upheaval to a new place?

    1. We found a home that has a detached garage for my husband who needs the extra room for gardening, hunting, fishing, etc. Also the house is a little smaller and all on one level which I really like.

  3. I love chambray with olive shorts. I have very similar outfit I wear. Love the black linen dress but think I’m too short for it. Love all the black dresses you’ve styled this season. Exciting about your move. Can’t wait to see your house. Hope you post pictures of it. The best part is you are even closer to Courtney’s house. I wish my kids and grands were closer. We love being together. God really blessed us with good kids and special grandkids. My 4 year old granddaughter just accepted the Lord into her heart. I couldn’t ask for anything more wonderful. I just ordered her a flannel graph board and it comes with 4 different bible stories. She will love playing teacher and telling her Bible stories. I loved doing this very thing as a child. Don’t you just love the flannel graphs from back in the day?

  4. Hi Cyndi,
I rarely, if ever, comment. However, I just feel like saying something I always think when I read your posts. You always look better than the model wearing the clothes you link to. Way better! I probably wouldn’t consider the black linen dress if I only saw it on the model, but you rock that thing!

  5. All cute outfits and you look good in all of them. You look cute in hats too. I have olive pants and I might add a chambray shirt. Love the beauty for the heart.

  6. Love all these outfits! You look so cute in a hat! So does my daughter.
My hair is short, so I think I look like a guy when I wear a hat😆
