Be Still & Know

Do you ever feel like you want to slow down? I sure do! I often think about the verse in scripture: Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10. In this verse, be still means to relax, sink, let go, cease.

We were able to relax and cease this weekend when we headed to the Red River Gorge to stay in a treehouse. It’s called a dome treehouse, and it looks like a yurt. There was no television, no internet, just peace and quiet. I loved it!

We had to climb up a lot of stairs to get to our treehouse.

I snapped this picture when I was going down to steps, headed to the bathroom.

There was also a swinging bridge you had to cross to get to our room and also to get to the bathroom.

The room was cute and simple, and when you lay in bed, your view was the beautiful fall foliage.

When it got dark, they had white lights everywhere.

We were only able to get away for a little over 24 hours, but the time together without all the distractions was just what we needed.

Do you ever unplug? What do you do to be still?

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and Instagram.

Let your beauty shine from the inside out today!

  1. Looks like a fun place to go. Thanks for sharing. I’m glad you had a good time away to unwind. I often think of that verse. I like the woods for a get away to unplug (hike) and I also will sit and color in an adult color book. I think it’s important to take time out.

  2. What a neat adventure! So glad you could get away! My husband and I did something similar last week. It was my 50th Birthday and we went to Southern Missouri to the Ozark area. Our cabin also had no TV or internet. We did a lot of hiking, sightseeing and antique shopping. I truly believe it’s therapeutic. 🩷

  3. Cyndi, it sounds divine! I’m jealous as I’d love to go away and forest bathe for a night or two … or three! What a perfect getaway! Love to you and Wayne!

  4. This sounds just like the get away my husband and I would love to experience. Thank you for sharing and happy anniversary!

  5. Looks like you had a wonderful time! I was wondering if you have any suggestions for a fall wedding. What to wear and which self tanners for legs are the best? It is difficult when we cannot wear pantyhose anymore. Lol
    Thanks!

  6. Cyndi, thanks so much for sharing Wayne and your little vacay adventure! I unplug every day even if it’s just for a few minutes. Mostly I go outside and just look up at the sky. I watch the clouds, observe hawks gliding, look into the woods, take a walk. I cherish nature. Have a beautiful Sunday❤️
