Last month we built our basic fall wardrobe. We added pieces to our wardrobe that we can mix and match to create different outfits. Today I’m showing you 3 ways I styled my white blouse and black pencil skirt.
In my first outfit I wore a leopard print shrug with a black belt. I also added black boots from Target.
For a little more casual look, I styled the white blouse and black pencil skirt with my jean jacket.
Lastly, I put on a tan cardigan and added black heels. (This would have looked good with a colored cardigan too!)
Have you tried to create different outfits with your basic wardrobe pieces?
Beauty for the Heart~~ Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:5-7
Have a blessed day!
I’m not sure you can ever have too much leopard print. 🙂 I purchased the shrug at Banana Republic last year.
Blessings,
cyndi
Donna I bought that shrug at Banana Republic last year. If I find a similar one, I’ll post it.
Thanks!
cyndi
Hey Michele, I purchased my pencil skirt at Marshall’s.
Thanks for stopping by!

All the outfits are nice. I too think the 3rd outfit would look better with a colored sweater. Where did you get your white shirt? I have been having a hard time finding one that is not see through or that fits properly.
Loved two of the three outfits but I would wear a colorful cardigan instead of tan. How about a wine colored one?
I too would love to know where you found that adorable leopard print shrug. Though I am worried I am getting too much leopard in my wardrobe!
Yes Kelly, I have the same problem with skirts. It’s frustrating. I’m wondering if it’s because I’m short waisted. Sometimes I feel like my skirts come almost under the bottom of my bra and then I don’t feel like I look good in them. If I pull them down to sit on my hips, it looks a lot better but feels very weird.
Cute!
Oh, I love these looks. I have most of these pieces, too.
Great ideas. Thanks!
Cyndi, I absolutely love your blog, but I have to ask, is there a reason you don’t wear nail polish? I have always thought nail polish just finishes off any look. Do you prefer no polish ? Please explain!
Cyndi, I love that shrug! I would never have thought to belt a shrug but it looks so cute! Great ideas! I need to take a day and create outfits in my closet!! Thanks! Susan
Love all the Looks!!!
Great outfits! I don’t wear skirts very often, especially in the winter. I would use black pants instead 🙂
Cyndi my comments keep getting cut off…anyone else have that problem? They are all positive comments I promise
Love all the outfits… Especially the leopard shrug
Hi Cyndi, I loved all of your wardrobe suggestions and have gotten almost everything on the list but the skirt. I am having an awful time finding a pencil skirt that fits me properly. I have literally tried on every black pencil skirt in JC Penney, Kohls and a couple of other stores. I am finding that if they fit at the hips then they are too big at my waist. Anyone else have this problem and do you have any suggestions? Thanks and have a blessed day 🙂
I agree with Cindy. I like the denim jacket outfit. I think the cardigan needs to be a different color….it blends in too much with the white blouse.
I love that leopard print shrug. Can you tell me where to find it? Thanks!
I love the black pencil skirt! Where did you buy yours at?
I definitely prefer cardigans for their more relaxed and less stiff feel. By after viewing these combination, I may have to consider a denim jacket. By far and away, my favorite of the three!
Loved the Fall Basic Wardrobe series! And now this of how to put it all together!
I wore my black pencil skirt and white blouse to church yesterday with low black boots, a hot pink scarf, and black sweater.
I will style them with the denim jacket (that I just bought after this series) soon.
Great Looks! all very relatable and something many of us could do!
