Fashion Friday-Boutique Style

Fashion Friday-Boutique StyleHappy Friday! I know you all are NOT going to believe me when I tell you this, but it is chilly outside this morning.

It’s in the 50’s and our highs for today are going to be in the 70’s. That’s below normal for August in Kentucky. As you can imagine, it has me thinking fall!

(These outfits are great for fall, and in 2015 they were featured by Zulily.com in Zulily’s Weekly Pinterest Finds – Fun Fall Looks.)

When it comes to chilly mornings and warm days, it’s nice to have some cute tops that are good for the in-between season. This leisure and lace top from Glamour Farms is perfect for enjoying some fall activities.

Fashion Friday-Boutique StyleI love the lace detail on the sides!

I talked last week about shearling coats and vests being a trend this fall and I’m beyond excited to add this vest to my wardrobe.

You can wear it with a chambray shirt, a striped shirt or when the weather is colder, an off white sweater would look great!

I know it’s early for scarf weather but this plaid scarf is going to be a favorite of mine this fall and winter.

Beauty For the Heart~~I have a picture in my house and it has this poem on it.

LIVE WELL

Don’t rush through live-it’s a journey, not a race. Trust in the goodness of people. Work harder than everyone else. Forgive and forget. Tell someone you love them everyday. Be honest and kind, Make time to go to church and remember to say your prayers. Laugh whenever you can and leave your worries behind. Be honorable. Live today like it was your last.

Have a blessed day!

  1. I wish my hair was growing out as fast as yours! It looks great at the longer length. I love the plaid scarf.

  2. I ordered the grey tee & the shiring vest from Glamor Farms. Love them! I can’t believe how fast they are at getting the package mailed out! I literally got my order, the very next day! Used the $10 off code too! Thanks Cindy, for the style tips, and coupons… And introducing me to Glamor Farms!

  3. GoodMorning Cyndi

Thanks for your fashion sense. I love the boots. I wear boots all winter. Thank your for the live well poem. I copied it to keep it inspiring me. I went to Pennsylvania for a Women of Faith seminar yesterday. It was uplifting. It reminded me as you remind us, God is in control. Your blogs keep us all going. Women need to be uplifted. Thank you and GodBless.
    Hugs Diana : )

  4. Thank you! Your BLOG is an inspiring, far-reaching ministry that touches lives every day. I have followed your daily entries for about three months now, and when I am out shopping or putting an outfit together from my own closet I find myself thinking, “How would Cyndi style this outfit?” But more than the fashion, you remind me daily to strengthen my walk with my Lord and Savior. Now THAT is beauty and grace!

  5. Cyndi, I agree with others that the clothes always look better on you than on the models! I love the outfits you picked for today. I also loved your interview yesterday and how you shared your faith without being “preachy”! I like your longer hair, but I am now curious about how it would look with Leslie’s suggestions. If you can stand to grow out some of your bangs, I think her ideas might be very flattering on you!

  6. Love the booties. Don’t know if I will wear them but they look good on you. Ditto on the vest. Liked the poem, too. I am going to print that out for my home office. Have a great weekend. I love a wedding, too.

  7. Just ordered Leisure Lace Top. I had seen it on their instagram and was thinking about it. You just pushed me into it. I have bought a couple of necklaces from them earlier this summer. Can’t wait to see how this works.
Question – I am heading to see family in Taylorville, Il near Springfield and am thinking of making a detour to stop at Glamour Farms. Are they in Louisville, IL or near there and since you were just there how long did it take you? I’m in Lexington, KY

    1. Hey Teresa,
It took us about 5 hours from Harrodsburg. It is in Louisville, Illinois and it’s a super small town. Everyone in the town knows where it is so you can’t miss it!!
      You’ll love it!!
      Cyndi

  8. the outfits look good , we are still too hot here in texas to even think about wearing long sleeves or a scarf.

and the thanks for the inspirational words … i needed that

  9. Cyndi- love the tops but I’m hanging on to summer a little longer with a shear lace overlay top that has 6 inch fringe at the bottom…wore it with dress slacks and peep toe pumps to work today. I love your style and suggestions but I’d like to offer a suggestion of my own. I’m a size 16 and can’t always duplicate an exact outfit in a smaller size like a 4. Sometimes no matter how hard the manufacturer tries, the lines just don’t look right in a 16. With all due respect, I feel your new hairstyle/length is the same way. You’ve duplicated what you had when it was short but now it’s longer. I LOVE your new longer length! I think you’ve got too much hair cut into your bangs/fringe. The proportions are off in your pics. Let half of your bangs grow out…and that’s no fun; I’ve been growing mine out since last December! And your inbetween growth will drive you crazy too. I’m all for new lengths whether it’s a shorter or a longer change but the exact cut at a different length doesn’t always work. I hope I haven’t offended you bc you truly are a special person.

  10. We are having cooler weather here in Oregon this morning also, and only looking at a high of 75 today which is SO nice….it has been warm here since May and our summer has been in the 90’s and 100’s…..while the weekend is supposed to be in the 90’s again, I am going to relish the cooler weather today, feels so good to be able to breathe 🙂

A poem I have on the wall in our living room says: “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away.”

  11. Hi Cyndi,
Love all three outfits, and you know me, I’m not a fan of the bulky scarves, but YOU pull them off, just beautifully, everyone of them!! I’ve made a few thinner ones for myself this Fall…
Love the Poem! Have a Blessed Day ! I love my booties and wear them Fall till Spring! I love mine with thick ankle socks to keep my feet warm! Not much on wearing them in the hot summertime. Yours are sooo cute!

  12. I LOVE THE POEM! I have a wall hanging that say’s, ” In This House We, Keep our Promises, Give Thanks, Begin Each Day With a Smile, Show Kindness, Have Cheerful Hearts, Laugh A Lot, Always have fun, Forgive each other, Share, But above all We Love.”

I love the top with the lace insets from Glamour Farms. I just might have to buy it, especially since we get a discount, thanks to you. Your temps sound awesome! I wish it were like that in GA. This weekend we will be pricing the jewelry my husband has made to sell at our churches arts & crafts fair next weekend, and go to church. God bless!

    1. Ginger I live in Savannah so it was 95 today. Envious of cooler temps. Love lace tee. I may need it for Oct!!

      1. We are in Gwinnett County, I-85 N of the ATL. I think it stayed in the 80’s here today. I love Savannah! Nike you, we can’t wait for the cooler temps.

  13. I have a questions about booties—do you wear socks? no show socks? barefoot? When there is a little gap between top of boots and bottom of jeans I always see skin showing. That’s fine for fall and spring but what about in the winter–it’s too cold in Iowa to not wear socks. Does that mean booties aren’t for winter? HELP!!!

    1. I wear no show socks as long as I can! When it gets really cold, I wear tall boots with socks.
I have to be warm when it’s really cold.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  14. These outfits are great and match my preference perfectly! I wasn’t sure about the vest last week when you posted several options–looks great! And I just like the basic grey shirt with a scarf–so easy. Thanks for giving giving several suggestions of tops to go under that vest–I appreciate that–like to know that I have several options in my closet to change things up.

I also agree with Christine–these clothes look better on you than the model–when I looked up the grey shirt it didn’t even look like the same thing!

  15. I am jealous!! It’s still hitting close to 90 everyday here. I am soooooooooo looking forward to cooler weather!!

  16. You won’t believe this but I love all three of your outfits. I don’t normally like scarfs without jacket (have stated that in a few comments) but this one isn’t bulky so looks very cute. I didn’t like the fringed booties with the outfit you had on the other day but here they work! I don’t like cuffed pants (as I commented MANY times), but here they look great! Guess it’s just finding the right combinations and for my taste, you have done that today. And I must say, the clothes always look better on you than on the model. I opened the link for the lace top and don’t like it on the model at all. On you it looks great! You knocked this one out of the park!
