My Fall Transitional Piece: 22 Days of Fall Fashion

Hi ladies! Another week is flying by, it’s Day 7 of our 22 Days of Fall Fashion, and I’m sharing my favorite transitional piece—a black tank.

I wear black tanks in the summer, but when the weather gets chilly, I still wear them, I just add jackets. I styled my Madewell tank three ways.

First, I wore this yesterday to lunch with a friend. We sat outside, so I took my cargo jacket off because the weather was warm.

This jacket comes in 4 colors, and I like that the jacket has a stand-up collar.

My jeans are Good American jeans, and I can’t find this color online. The one I linked is a little bit lighter.

For a more casual look, I styled the black tank with sneakers from Amazon. I’m wearing the brown color, and they have a cushioned insole. These sneakers are comfortable!

Lastly, I styled this black tank with a leopard print cardigan.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and Instagram.

Now head over and see what Jo-Lynne Shane is styling today!

Beauty For the Heart~~ When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise. Proverbs 10:19

I read this verse this morning, and I had to reread it. What a true statement! Many times the more we say, the worse it gets, certainly, if we’re gossiping.

I love the second part of the verse— it’s wise to hold our tongue. That can be hard to do, especially in today’s climate. It seems everyone has an opinion, and for some reason, they feel the need to share it.

But scripture is clear, it’s wise to hold our tongue. Speak less, love more.

Have a blessed day!

  1. Such a good picture of Colt and glad it sounds like his school is safe. How did he manage to have only 10 students in his class? Thats amazing. Looks like they have to wear uniforms to school? Did he change to a private school? I love all the looks you are styling. I sure wish I could order jeans online, but I have to try them on, as I’m shorter than you and so sometimes I need the petite, but sometimes they don’t work, but the others don’t look cropped, but hit at the wrong place. So, its into the store. As for the pan. I have been doing a lot of my cooking in cast iron, as you have to be very careful with the non stick surfaces being safe, especially if any of it starts to peel off. I do have some really good, expensive pans I also use sometimes and never chip.

  2. I love your transition looks. Gotta get the leopard sweater!
Just bought the pan and used code “letseat” for $29.00 dollars off! (15%)
    Wishing everyone well!
Working on becoming wiser and saying less!

  3. Cyndi, on the Amazon sneakers would you size up or down if in between sizes? I have very finicky feet and these look like they offer more style than my athletic type shoe, but hopefully still comfortable. Loving your fall fashion posts!

  4. Hi, Cyndi!
The BFTH is such a great reminder for us all! That should be posted above all of our computers, in this day and age – It is so easy to just react, instead of thinking first.
The kids look SO adorable – great pic! Glad that Colt’s school year is starting off well.
    You look beautiful, as always!

  5. Love the BFTH ! So true. Especially during these day’s we find ourselves in. Is the cardigan soft? And what is the quality like?
Colt looks so grown up, looks like they have school uniforms. I bet Miss Claire is ready for school too.

  6. Loved your scripture for the day. It reminded me of my sweet mother who would often say “If you don’t have something good to say, say nothing at all.”

  7. I really like all three looks. Boy, Colt is really growing up and is a very nice looking boy. I bet Claire is really missing her big brother. Great BFTH!

  8. I love the leopard cardigan look on you so cute I have purchase so many of your fashion picks so far and want to know how many cardigan you think is a reasonable amount to have ? I have the two basic you suggested pink last season cream from Nordstrom the knock off color block and I like the leopard but find it a bit trendy. I live in South CA so it’s still so hot. How many are in your closet this season and how do you feel about the 2 trending pieces?

    1. Vicki, my closet is different becasue of my job. No one should have as many as i do. Haha!
But if I weren’t styling clothes for a living, I would have the basic colors and then a few trendier ones. The leopard one is so cute and comfy!

  9. I bought that leopard sweater through your link when you styled it before. I cannot wait to wear it. It feels so good. I was thinking of a black tank and black pants/leggings with the sweater. Good for work, although my students only see me on zoom, so they don’t see what I am wearing past my shoulders haha!
