Fashion Over 40-Winter Fashion

Happy Wednesday! In case you’re new around here, every Wednesday I share some outfits I’ve recently worn. The theme right now is winter fashion.

I’m starting to get tired of my winter clothes but I think I’ve still got a few months to go before I’ll be wearing sandals and sleeveless tops.

This past weekend I headed to Cincinnati for a blogging conference. It was for advanced bloggers and it was intense. I went with my sister and my friend Katie.

Here’s what I wore~~

  1. Hi Cyndi,

I really like the way you did your scarf in photo #2 above. Could you give me instructions on how to do it please?

    Thanks,
    Chris

  2. Love all of your great looks. JCPenny’s do have nice clothes. I really love their ST John Bay brand. I live in Georgia and of course the snow fell here on Tuesday. Our weather is going to be in the 60’s on Saturday can not wait to go shopping.

  3. I do love boots and sweaters!! But I’m always ready for a new season. I have to admit I don’t like the in between season, it’s hard to know what to wear!
    Blessings,
    Cyndi

  4. I don’t shop at Talbots but several of my readers do so I’m going to have to check it out. I know they have cute clothes!
    Blessings,
    Cyndi

  5. I love your Wednesday posts & really look forward to them! And, I love all the sweaters from JCP…fashion that’s stylish, affordable and accessible is the best. I was wondering if you would ever be able to show your looks styled in different ways? I live in a part of the country that’s not usually cold enough for scarves & also, during the day I’m in an office where they’re not necessarily appropriate. So…although I love a good scarf, it usually makes sense for me to add visual interest with a necklace or other jewelry. I’m often racking my brain for good ideas and you have wonderful ones! I would love to see how you would wear these looks with jewelry. Thanks for your wonderful blog!!!

  6. Shoot … I couldn’t get your pics to come up ~ The space was blank, but I know you looked beautiful as you always do.

  7. Yea for some great sales!! I love those too! Scored a puffy vest today for more than 50% off… have been looking for one that’s not too, too puffy 🙂 You look beautiful as always! Stay warm, Cyndi!

  8. I know you have told us before, but where did you get the “trust in the Lord” sign you are standing in front of?
    I enjoy your blog!

  9. Hi Cyndi! I have been reading your blog for a LONG time and I can’t believe that I’ve never noticed how great you look in that shade of blue! I’m telling you, it just lights you up and looks beautiful. All of the sweaters and scarves you’ve shown today are great looks. However, the look I would wear and the one that I think looks so fabulous on you is the colorblocked sweater with the black and white kind of plaid scarf…LOVE IT! There is a subtle, classic panache (is that an oxymoron?) to that outfit and you look FABU in it my dear! Thanks for another fun Wednesday…STAY WARM!

  10. You always bring such wonderful fashions.I really like the grey cowlneck sweater and black pant’s, it is a casual look but yet very pulled together, that is something I would wear at home. That blue sweater just makes your face pop, great color on you.I also love all the scarfs you wear,I want that grey check one I will have to go shopping.I do not buy a lot of clothes but when I find something I really like then it’s mine.I am also curious if any one sews any of their clothing, because I am working on making my spring and summer dresses.

  11. Hi Cyndi.

Cute outfits! 🙂 I like the color blocked sweater.

I must be one of the few that still loves winter fashion! LOL I am not a big fan of spring/summer fashion. Give me skinny jeans, boots, and sweaters all year…just not with these frigid temps and snow. 🙂

Have a great day. Thanks for sharing.

  12. Great Sweaters! I love JCP! I too am tired of winter dressing… Actually more tired of pants and boots, not wearing as many dresses this winter because it’s been colder… With a foot of snow last night in my beach community, don’t think I’ll be into spring clothing soon enough! I would love to hear about your conference experience!!!

  13. I love your blog. I wore an outfit very similar to the third one last night. The inspiration was the black and white houndstooth scarf from Target you wore and blogged about in the Fall. I was speaking at a forum on education and found the royal blue sweater on sale at Talbots.

  14. HI! I’m stopping by today to tell you that I really enjoy each of the outfits. You have such a pretty neck which really shows with the gray cowl neckline, and I love the scarves with the other outfits. They don’t look pretentious, just very attractive. Thanks so much for this blog; I love it!

  15. So cute Cyndi! I love “formula dressing!” I’m tired of my winter clothes too. I recently read an article on how to wear a maxi skirt for winter. I loved the ideas shared and have gone a head and worn my maxi skirts in a more wintry way (boots/booties tights and long sleeve shirts and jackets). I also recently bought a pastel peach colored sweater on sale at Kohl’s. The more springy color made me feel livened up! Now, you should know, I live in the Dallas area. So, our winter is a bit more mild…. making it easier to incorporate spring like ideas in winter wardrobe:) Have a great day! Krista

  16. Very cute outfits. I’m going to have to check out JCP. I didn’t realize they had such nice things! Thanks for sharing.
