It’s hard to believe this is the last week of July! It has been a busy summer for us and I don’t know about you, but I’m not ready to say goodbye to summer yet.
I do start thinking about transition pieces in my wardrobe. This LOFT dress is spot on for the hot weather right now but a month from now I could add a cardigan and some booties and it would work for cooler fall weather.
These days I’m all about comfort and this dress from LOFT fits that bill perfectly. Plus it’s wrinkle free and you know I love that!
I wore this dress to church yesterday and carried this black clutch.
I purchased these Simply Vera Wang heels from Kohl’s earlier in the year and I still love wearing them. I think they’re also a great shoe for warmer fall days. They look super cute with jeans.
They have a couple of sizes left in this color but they also have them in black, which would look great with this dress too.
This dress has a busy pattern but I still added this sliver necklace from Glamour Farms.

You are so right! That navy, gray and black color palette can easily transition into the Fall. I think that dress would look great with black tights, boots and a denim blazer!
I gain great comfort in Jesus’ assurance that we will face trials, because when they come, I don’t have to react with fear. It’s no surprise for Him.

This is ADORABLE on you – LOVE!!! Great wardrobe piece, it is perfect for summer, and will be darling with capri’s and boots, or ballet slippers, cute jacket or sweater and a belt – fits into the type of pieces I look for in my own wardrobe!! My birthday is on the 31st, so I always know when it’s “that time”, summer is fast nearing its peak and fall is just around the corner, which is sad for me because I LOVE to garden!!!
I also have enjoyed your topic on fear, whenever I am facing a trial in my life, big or small, the verse I John 4:4 always comes to me – “Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world”. There is NOTHING that our God cannot defeat – He had a thought, and the whole universe came into being – he made man out of dust – we need to KNOW deep inside, that the power of our Lord surpasses everything that is!!!
is the dress bodice attached to the skirt with piping or is it a narrow tie blt ??
how about using this as ones LBD especially one who does not look that good in a solid black dress ???
The dress is attached with piping. You can definitely use this as a LBD!

I really like the dress Cyndi! I have not started thinking about transitional pieces yet. I need to start buying more transitional pieces instead of having to change out all of my clothes for the different seasons. It would be a lot less work!
We actually prefer cold weather, so I’m really looking forward to fall & winter, and football!

I think the lighting makes it appear blue. The dress is black, taupe, and a grey blue it that makes any sense! Ha!

Sally I love love the kimono style cardigans!!Yes they are age appropriate but every time I try one on, it feels like it’s swallowing me. does that make sense??
For some reason, I haven’t like them on me but I love them on every one else.

Love the dress, and love that it can work as a transitional piece. Just bought a very lightweight flyaway cardigan as a transitional piece, which I’m actually wearing today because it is a bit cooler and rainy today. Thanks for sharing your fashion ideas and scripture verses.
Cyndi, you look fabulous. Do you have advice for the woman gaining hormonal weight. I’m 46, with chronic Lyme Disease and in the past 2 years went from a size 6 to a 10. I found your site and love the way you dress but I’m struggling to find inexpensive clothes that look nice.
