Friday Fashion Inspiration-Blanket Scarf

Blanket scarves Happy Friday friends! I can’t believe I haven’t talked about or styled a blanket scarf.

If you’re a regular reader, you know how much I love scarves! Last winter, I kept seeing them but never took the plunge and I have no idea why??

So be forewarned, I’m going to style a blanket scarf in the next few weeks! For your Friday Fashion inspiration, here are some ones I like.

Beauty For the Heart~~I have thought about my Mom so much while on vacation this week. We took a lot of vacations together with my parents. So many of the places we go while we are here, are the same places we went to when my Mom was living. I have some wonderful memories!!

I love this quote by Billy Graham. “Only God Himself fully appreciates the influence of a Christian mother in the molding of character in her children.”

I’m so thankful for my mother and the influence she had and continues to have on me, even after she has gone home to be with Jesus.

Have a blessed day!

  1. I love the blanket scarves. NOT office appropriate but great for casual weekend or evening around a bonfire I hate wearing a coat over a cute sweater so this is a great solution. I just purchased three and can’t wait for cooler weather to start wearing them

  2. I tried the blanket scarf last year and love it! It’s a little big and warm, which I am always warm but super fun and stylish! 🙂

  3. The blanket scarce seems like a trend to tread with caution. I saw a few ladies try it at work, and just in my opinion : Either overwhelming, added weight, or at worst sloppy.
It seems wearing that much additional fabric is hard a both ends of the body size spectrum.

But I think they have their place, Friday night football! Super cute in your teams colors!

  4. I love the Billy Graham quote about motherhood. I hope as a Christian mother I am planting seeds that will grow into bendable, but not unbreakable Christian men. I am so sorry you are grieving your mother, but I think grief is as deep as the love for the person, clearly your love for your mother is deep and wide and beautiful. Okay, on to the blanket scarf-some things are hard to carry as a shorty, but I think I can carry a smaller plaid scarf. I am going for more timeless and less trendy, a plaid scarf or wrap is classic, could be a good wardrobe addition. Florida girl here , so I have a little time, I am coming to Kentucky next week and going to Shakertown, I remember your post about it and can’t wait! I used to go there as a small child with my grandmother.

  5. Hi, yes I tried it. Last year I looked everywhere for the one that is red/blue/green/tan plaid and ordered it on Amazon. It goes with a lot! It is tricky to style due to the size and until the end of the work day, I was warm with it at my neck. It is best on a really cold day and when you really want to be warm and cozy.

  6. I bought one that looks exactly like the first pic last winter. I love it especially on cold days. Keeps me warm and comfy!

  7. Worn the way most of these models are, yes, they can be bulky. (Once they’re arranged this way, they really don’t move around much, so readjusting isn’t really a problem.) But there are several other ways to wear them and they are really fun. Several bloggers last year did videos styling them.

  8. I need to be able to move and these scarves are heavy, warm and probably need re-adjusting as you move around. will look for one that is light weight and not so huge. (I’m more petite and these big ponchos and blanket things swallow me up.) Not a fan of ripped jeans either.

  9. The look is cute… But I have regular hot flashes and they make me hot just looking at them!! Lol! I still looked forward to seeing you style them though. Maybe when it’s -5 outside, I’ll be ready to wear one 😉 praying for you as you reminnse about your mom 😉

    1. I agree with Ellen. Just not ‘feeling it’ either. Too bulky and cumbersome looking. Top heavy. Bet that would be a pain after 1/2 hr. – having to constantly readjust. The 3rd pic down reminds me of someone who is freezing and didn’t wear a heavy enough coat, and is trying to get warmth from the scarf! 🙂 IDK, just not for me, I guess. Although, might be good for a football game in very chilly weather.

  10. I agree with Lori. They seem like too much material, hence the name blanket. Maybe nice to sit outside at a Friday night Football game. I love the models’ looks. Their highlights, jackets and heels. Still nit a fan of ripped jeans! Have a great weekend! i wondered where your post was today!

  11. I love these scarves but the ones I’ve found are very big and warm – more for outer wear. Have you found any that LOOK like these but are lighter-weight? My favorite one last year was from Target. I drove all over town , picking them up for my nieces and SIL so we could each have one. Can’t wait to wear it again. I seriously considered cutting mine in two to make it less bulky. I think I’ll just wear it outdoors though.
